This program provides the perfect solution for retail business. It also includes restaurant facility as well for managing functionalities of order creation and syncing, table management, payment matters, kitchen operation, etc. In this also included some optional features like allowing tips, syncing orders in cloud, using different hardware, etc.
The major point founded is of solving issue of multi session syncing. Here suppose like restaurant has it's own session, takeaway has it's own session but both session order's are going to kitchen only then needed of sync as like kitchen is only one. Apart from that wallet feature is major missing.
The multi functional system which helps to provide restaurant order management. One of the most suggestible and trust able module provided by ODOO which also include data backup functionality, multi users, multi company and sessions, etc.
Using this one created restaurant management system for an hotel where multiple orders are taken via ODOO POS session and automatically gone for process to kitchen where time is getting displayed and once it is done arrived it self. User can also keep track over there.
Let me start off by saying that I have used the entire Odoo Suite. Odoo Point of Sale is a very simple to use and setup solution for small businesses (restaurants, shops, etc), the interface is modern and I have never had to scratch my head to figure out how to accomplish something in the system. The service is inexpensive and if you use other Odoo apps they all integrate across the board. The integrated inventory management is a nice plus but don't be fooled into thinking it's just an added feature or an after thought, it's a fully comprehensive inventory system. The customer rewards feature is especially nice to have and you don't often see it in POS services at this price point. As with all Odoo apps if you find yourself in need of a feature the service doesn't seem to have, you can always hit up the app store to find an extension that can add more functionality. There are also themes if you're into changing the look of your system.
The POS is web based and will continue to work even during a network failure but it will not allow you to open a new session without an active connection (that is an issue with all web based systems tho) but Odoo can be set up on site if you don't have too much confidence in your ISP.
While a cloud implementation is quick and simple, be sure to contact Odoo about an on site solution if it sounds like something you want or need.
Odoo POS is very inexpensive and easy to setup, when looking for a affordable solution for small business Point of Sale it was an easy choice and after using it there was never a need to try another.
It is web base,
User friendly,
Working offline and online,
Valid for shops and restaurant,
Handle diffrent and diffecult sales cases
Need to be translate to many language like Arabic language
It May be the only POS which is fully integrated with the remaining ERP apps, which let customers manage all branches and enterprise using one systems instead of multi systems
The POS is simple to navigate and use. It is clear to identify the products and onboard customers.
Not sure if this is just our ODoo POS but the cache sometimes needs to be manually refreshed to update newer products but this takes seconds to do so is not a game-changer.
With a large product stock sometimes it is simpler to use POS over a sale order search to narrow down to the correct product and complete the sale fast for the customer.
- - Odoo POS is server / cloud based so access is simple and possible from any device with a web browser
- - The price of the service is extremely competitive
- - The suit of apps available in the Odoo ecosystem is extensive allowing you to do more than just POS
- - The vast library of third party extensions for Odoo POS and the entire Suit of Odoo apps allow functionality to be extended significantly
- - Although the system is cloud/server based the POS continues to work even in the even of a network failure
- - The integrated inventory management module is a nice plus
- - All the features you expect from a POS software are here (Variants, Discounts, Bill Splitting, Mutiple Pay Options, etc)
- - The interface is lean and intuitive, additionally the internal demo at first use is very well laid out
- - While the initial feature set will satisfy most small businesses or restaurants; some more nuanced features are absent from the system. I did find that the Third party extensions can add most of this functionality after the fact though.
- - With all of the advantages that come from being cloud / server based, in the event of a network failure the POS will only continue to function if you already had it open. This is the nature of all cloud / server based software
- Try out the app store if you're looking for a feature that the POS doesn't have at install
Odoo POS is a simple and intuitive POS system, the feature set is extensive enough for most small businesses and the price is extremely competitive
Price list, invoicing, easy of use, offline feature
I am in Mexico, and there is a lot of functionality that local POS provide, so when users switch to Odoo POS, they miss a lot of things; for example, Odoo POS has no feature not to allow to sell if there is no quantity available of a product, you have to acquire a third-party app. There is a lot of untrust in employees in mexico, so clients alwas ask to add a lot of locks, since POS is made with Java, maintenance is so hard.
Being Mexico a country with so much Odoo acceptance, I recommend benchmarking with local competitors so localization will meet customer's needs.
Online invoicing, link with accounting, integrated sales channels
