"Ocelot -Assisting with Student Success!"
What do you like best about Ocelot?

I have had the pleasure of working with Ocelot for over three years. Our institution is the owner of Financial Aid TV, GetSAP and most recently, we implemented their latest product, the Ocelot Chatbot. The Ocelot team is fantastic! They are truly dedicated to students and have been there to support me every step of the way. One of the best parts about Ocelot products is the on-demand reports that you can pull at any time to see the value of the products.

What do you dislike about Ocelot?

I do not have anything that I dislike about the products or the company, Ocelot. Ocelot is an organization receptive to ideas from financial aid administrators to ensure their products meet student and institutional needs. Their products have been a game-changer for our students and the Financial Aid Office at our college.

Recommendations to others considering Ocelot:

I highly recommend moving forward with Ocelot. You will see the value in using their product through the analytics you can pull on demand or that are provided monthly from the vendor.

What problems is Ocelot solving and how is that benefiting you?

All services have assisted our institution with removing barriers so that we can meet the students’ needs by providing access to financial aid information in a manner that resonates with students, 24/7, 365 days per year. Our students no longer have to wait in line to get their questions answered; leave work early to make it down to our office before closing time since they have the ability to review financial aid information when they need it, during a time that works best for them. In fact, 67% of interactions with FATV last month happened during the hours the Financial Aid Office closed and 20% of our chatbot questions and answers are happening outside of our college hours and we just launched a few weeks ago. Their products provide equal access to all students. In addition, Ocelot has assisted our office by providing bilingual services that we did not have previously. This ensures that parents and students have the information they need in the language they feel most comfortable with to make decisions related to attending our institution. I have spoken with many students across the campus and all have been pleased with the services we are providing with Ocelot.

"Valuable tool for helping to serve students."
What do you like best about Ocelot?

The texting feature is an excellent tool for communicating with students and our Ocelot representative, Nick Burrell, who works to identify creative solutions.

What do you dislike about Ocelot?

The software cost can be a bit high, but worth the price.

Because much is not yet understood about the long-term health risks associated with extensive energy drink consumption, more research must be conducted to fuller understand the depth and breadth of the potential health hazards energy drinks can present. Furthermore, expanding the scope of populations, age groups, ethnicities, etc., researched will help provide a more comprehensive understanding of the true health impacts energy drinks have on the human body and the developing adolescent and young adult body. This is especially important given that young adults, both in high school and college, are typically the group most likely to consume energy drinks to help battle fatigue during periods of final exams, or to help them gain an edge in their sports performance.

What problems is Ocelot solving and how is that benefiting you?

Helping to answer a high volume of student questions via an AI chatbot has helped free up staff time.

"Reporting needs help but Overall, a Valuable Tool"
What do you like best about Ocelot?

I like the Chatbot Just in Time reporting I have access to.

The Chatbot question submission process is efficient and questions get through the moderation queue quickly.

Heidi Verplank is an incredible help. When I have a question she is always, without fail, quick and efficient in her responses. Additionally, Joel Laos has been a pleasure to work with.

What do you dislike about Ocelot?

There is no monthly generated report for the ChatBot usage (like the monthly FATV report I get). I know I can go in anytime to look at the Chatbot data, but I like the way I can save the FATV report to pdf and circulate that report to team members. I am currently saving Chabot reports to pdf myself, but the data gets cut up, pages split, etc. When I inquired about it, I was told that you do not offer (at this point in time) a monthly generated report like you provide for the GetAnswers video portal.

Recommendations to others considering Ocelot:

Have all departments buy into the concept and stay on top of them as they are the SME's that will supply information/questions.

What problems is Ocelot solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are finding out what students need in way of Admissions and Financial Aid information. We are also able to see what else students need information about on a daily basis. It will help us determine the best way to get information out to students and how to better anticipate need for future knowledge bases.
