The app is very intuitive. When I first started using it most of the functions I start looking for are already available. It tracks the timeline of shifts sent, and tracks each staff profile with callouts, pending shifts, etc.
A few minor glitches when entering shift details with AM/PM times. This happens when I create shifts and when entering time & attendance for payroll.
I can now track staff attendance rates, accept/decline rates of shifts, and their number of shifts worked. It's awesome!
We started using NOWSTA almost 2 years ago and it has made scheduling so much more efficient. We use it throughout our company - from servers and bartenders, to kitchen, warehouse, and office workers. The platform is user friendly for both schedulers and staff. I have been the Staffing Coordinator for DSquared Hospitality Company for almost 13 years and we have never been fully staffed so early for our events! Problems of staff not being able to quickly and easily view and accept shifts have been solved. The whole platform is easy for me to use as a Staffing Coordinator and make sure I am able to offer shifts to the right staff for the job.
Because we are staffed more efficiently, I am able to rely less on temporary staffing companies, saving us money.
We are able to use the system company-wide for many different types of laborers (as opposed to using multiple staffing platforms for service staff vs office staff or kitchen staff). This allows any manager to get an up-to-date report on staffing in their teams, departments, and company as a whole. Worker data is also easily accessible.
It's so easy to read, use, complete myriad tasks, and can easily add or customize things if, and when needed.
I can't see a record of a shift offer history, once it's confirmed or declined. Can't see who sent the offer or when it was sent, when it was confirmed/declined, or the reason I removed someone off a shift.

So full of features! We can link with caterease, our staff can have their own account to manage, they can accept or decline posted jobs, clock in and out find a location on maps, get paid!
I wish there was a feature for the staff to see all jobs on a calendar and claim a job if they want to work it. It a bit tedious to have to publish a job all the time.
Staffing during rush seasons. It is nice to have a one stop place for our staff to go for location, times, uniforms
The geo-location clock in is very helpful for catering.
The addition or changing of breaks in the timekeeping system can be clunky.

Nowsta easily groups work shifts by event so that you can tell whether that event is covered or not.
It’s hard to tell from an overview calendar glance which worker is working which shift.
My team can easily schedule workers while taking into account their schedules and weekly hours.
I like that it's easy to coordinate which members of your team work for which department as well as see their availability in one calendar view. The general formatting is easy to learn and utilize.
The mobile app needs more features and less duplicated information under the separate tabs. For instance, why can't a worker see their own schedule for that month, or see the other workers working particular shifts elsewhere in the building? I also dislike having to open a specific event from the calendar view before I can see the shifts and specific workers working the event. Plus, once I open an event, it's slow, and sluggish trying to get back the calendar view. And I can't easily compare two different events' information.
It's helping schedule student workers and keep track of who's working what. It also keeps track of their different positions and what other shifts they've already worked this week.
