Ninite has all the most common third-party programs in one spot for installation. There is no more hopping around from URL to URL or keeping a thumb drive with updated executables. This makes my job easier on new computer setups.
There are some older pieces of software on there that are no longer supported by those who developed them. They take up space and should be replaced with more relevant software.
The problem I am solving with Ninite is with new computer setups. I have just one tool, Ninite, that allows me to download all the third-party programs at one time. This saves time on computer setups.
I love being able to have most of the applications I have my students use in one installer. I also love that I can configure it to my needs.
Not every application that I use is supported.
If you have to set up even one computer, set up a Ninite installer to save so much time.
I often have to erase and set up multiple PCs for my class. I love being able to throw Ninite on each one and have it install all the applications I have chosen to each one.
If there's one thing I like the best, it's that I can install/update/patch 3rd party applications on a computer no matter what network it's connected to.
I can honestly say that there's not much I don't like about Ninite. I can't think of one negative regarding this product. I even enjoy using it on my personal machines.
The business problems we are solving with Ninite is deploying/updating 3rd party applications. It saves on a few headaches when a user needs an app installed, or updated, and they don't have to come to IT. If Ninite hasn't updated it, I can logon to the admin console for the app and deploy or update. If the machine needs to restart for the update to complete, I can make sure the user is aware I'm restarting the machine and take care of that too.
This application is a must use for anybody who deploys workstations or is in charge of keeping 3rd party applications up to date. The download footprint is very tiny and it does a great job of avoiding the bloat typically bundled with popular freeware.
It would be nice to see more applications supported. it seems the catalog hasn't grown much over the last few years.
This product is incredibly lightweight and runs like a top. Keep your installer and run it again to update your software. no need to worry about bloatware as ninite screens for this.
Installing software has never been easier. This product saves so much time.
I like that I can download and update the majority of useful, free software I use all in one place automatically. I don't like bloatware and always delete unnecessary programs from new computers and install the good, free, useful software I prefer. Ninite has all the majors I use including browsers, security and utilities and imaging software like Gimp, Irfanview and Inkscape. It makes it quick and easy to download and keep updated on the software I use regularly. And they have a place where you can recommend other programs to include in their lineup.
Nothing to dislike. I use the free version and have everything downloaded quickly and easily.
The free version is perfectly useful, go ahead and start with the free version and it might be exactly what you need!
It saves me time, certainly. And when I get a new machine I don't have to go to each individual website to download the programs I use. I can simply log into Ninite and download everything I need all at once.
I like that I can "Set and Forget" with this tool. I have it set so that it automatically runs across my network on a Sunday night and updates all of our standard apps. It is very very easy to use and once set up I don't really ever have to touch it again.
I don't really dislike anything in this tool. If I had to pick something, I guess I would just like more applications to be supported. Possibly Microsoft Office or even integrated with Windows itself however that is more what WSUS is for. The only other thing is if applications are open then it doesn't run so I have had to script it to close apps that could be open (it runs at 2am so shouldn't cause an issue).
If you want something that will just work and not need to play around too much with, this is the best option. I left every bit of software in the script to ensure that I was capturing future possibilities and I wouldn't have to go back in and add it later.
All of our standard applications are kept up to date every week. I have turned off the auto updaters on things like Chrome, Firefox etc and let Ninite handle it all itself. It also means that since it runs under an Admin context we have no problems with users not having access to install them.
Offers more than its competition in software patching. Ease of deployment.
Can have only one technician. when you delete a client it should uninstall if it reconnects.
Patch security holes in applications when they are available.
Very quick and easy to update commonly used apps, such as google chrome, java, firefox etc. Good Support.
No ability to add your own apps, limited choices in customising install options, but this helps with the simpleness and ease of use of the app.
Use the free trial to see if the software is right for you.
We use Ninite Pro to keep all our commonly used apps up to date, this allows us to be compliant with patch management requirements.
Make a lot easier to download software and faster
need more software to download, few maybe missing
help setup new computers faster and easier

Nininte Pro always me to script software installation quickly and easily with my RMM solution, N-Able N-Central. Simply put, I have never had a problem with Ninite. It works exactly as advertised every time.
Although it is out of Ninite's control, some third-party apps used to be available in Ninite but are no longer listed. I understand that Ninite removed some apps at the publisher's request, so I don't fault Ninite for that problem.
If your work for a managed services provider and frequently script the installation of common third-party apps, review Ninite's command-line options. It has saved me a significant amount of time over the years that I have been using the procduct.
Ninite allows us to quickly and easily install and update third-party apps in Windows on individual systems or via command-line scripting using our RMM tool. Ninite has saved us a great deal of time when configuring new computers and creating installation scripts in our RMM tool.
