Not sure if it is because of our Corp Network, but Nagios runs a little slow. But it could be due to the large volume of network devices.

Le funzionalità di base Nagios Network Analyzer (così come gli altri software della famiglia Nagios) risiedono in pochi file di configurazione.

Una per gli endpoint monitorati, uno per la ciascuna di servizi tali endpoint, e di gruppo politiche per diversi profili di impostazioni di allarme / di escalation lo fanno un ottimo ed esteso framework altamente modificabile e adattabile per i sistemi come router di monitoraggio, switch, firewall, server e le posizioni del sito.

Non possiamo vedere la piena visibilità e non in grado di riconoscere tutto i flussi di traffico a causa della topologia di rete eterogenee, non siamo in grado di distribuirlo per l'ambiente di produzione, non supporta in modo ottimale gli scenari inter-VLAN routing ma resta senza dubbio il top per avere una visione completa e d'insieme oltre che approfondita al massimo sui link WAN a livello di edge o di router terminatore / aggregatore di circuito.

Consiglio di eseguire un deployment su macchina fisica e non virtuale (guest VM) in quanto allo scalare della vostra rete potrebbe richiedere ulteriori connessioni fisiche a livello 1 e data link dello stack TCP IP.

Usiamo Nagios Network Analyzer perchè ci permette di informare su chiamata personale di interruzioni per i servizi per più squadre, tramite messaggi di posta e SMS o addirittura telegram bot e telegram API.

We use Nagios XI to monitor our network infrastructure.It gives us early warning if device is critical.Interface is good.

Adding devices should be make easy other than that it's great.

We use nagios to monitor our 1000+ server farms and it works great for individual services on each server.

I just find that the alert sound is horrible

The business problems we are solving is ensuring when there is an issue with a server our system admins handle it right away as they are alerted to the issue before it gets out of control. without nagios we wouldn't be able to accomplish that task.

Nagios is very flexible and expandable. We can write our own plugins to custom fit our environment for the exact equipment and checks we need to see.

Commercial version is a little expensive, however the "core" opensource version is the same engine and allows us to deploy the plugins we need with alerting we need for our network of over 3k devices and over 9k service checks.

Pro-active and reactive alerting of critical network equipment. Nagios allows us to keep a closer eye on our SLA customer devices as well.

Overall the price factor but I really like that we can setup services to ping devices all around our office, not just networking equipment.

The learning curve is a bit steep but easiest thing to do is build an EC2 instance and dev it from there via terminal

Do your research and don't be afraid to test.

We've solved a way of monitoring our networking equipment/IT equipment located within all our offices to send us notifications as to when they go down. This is an incredible benefit because we get alerted in real time as to when issues happen.

Lo mejor de Nagios es su gran capacidad para monitorizar redes, es una gran herramienta, es de codigo abierto y tiene mucha documentación para su uso. Es muy potente y puedes vigilar tanto hardware como software

Lo peor que tiene Nagios es su gran complejidad, necesitas estar preparado para poder instalar este sistema y poder administrarlo

Si, lo recomendaria a todos los que quieran llevar un control y monitorización de sus sistemas en tiempo real, para asi poder atajar cualquier incidencia de la red lo antes posible.

Con Nagios puedes vigilar equipos y softwares en tiempo real y que te alerte si ocurre alguna incidencia o algo fuera de lo normal.
