"Exactly what MongoDB needed to realize its full potential."
What do you like best?

- I absolutely LOVE the Triggers feature. This is exactly what MongoDB needed to overpower Firebase.

- I love the simplicity of the UI/UX -- it's not a whirlwind of buttons like Google Cloud/Firebase, or a hot mess like AWS Console. MongoDB Atlas is such a better experience.

- I like the UI -- it's clean, consistent, and super intuitive.

- I love that I can deploy a mongodb cluster with the click of a button.

- I like that I can monitor the cluster and then scale it as needed.

- I'm excited to dive further into Stitch -- looks sick.

- I'm a huge fan of the fact that MongoDB Cloud Manager is built on the opensource product, and adds such value to an already amazing tool.

And I am super, duper, 1000% impressed by, grateful for, and always happy to work with the awesome team at MongoDB. Brad Kirk set me up inside Atlas, and has been an incredible resource in getting me going with this new product. I am also a huge fan of the MongoDB swag I got -- especially my Yeti mug.

What do you dislike?

Honestly? There's nothing that I dislike about it. It's 100%. It's exactly what MongoDB needed, and then more. It's impressive. It's performant. It's simple. It's intuitive. It's well documented and supported. It's trustworthy. It's built on an opensource core. It simply knocks the ball out of the park and into the neighboring state.

What a huge achievement. I congradulate the MongoDB team -- thank you for your hard work. You know your users.

👏💯🤯😍

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely give MongoDB Cloud a try. It's one of the best tools out there for developers -- impressive feature set, intuitive and easy to use, opensource core tech, excellent support and docs. A joy to use, and a much-needed tool for developers.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Professional View:

Triggers solves every problem ever, basically. Being able to act on data updates is HUGE. I'm prototyping an application now for my org that wouldn't be a good experience without triggers. Now, I don't need a server for mundane data post-update operations and my org doesn't have to spin up a serv every time this guy (me) gets a cool idea to prototype. I can do it all myself, and spin up and tear down clusters like I had magical powers.

Personal View:

MongoDB Cloud filled a huge empty hole in my heart. Years ago, I would have used Firebase as my go-to for everything until they got way too complicated in google cloud, Since then, I basically stopped building hobby apps because I simply didn't feel like dealing with all of google cloud.

"Easy to backup your databases."
What do you like best?

Easy to backup your databases.

Very simple to use. Good GUI.

Continuous backup of queries and oplog.

What do you dislike?

No control on backup data. It is stored in MongoDB cloud.

Cost depends on the size of the data and the amount of oplog changes.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You simply install the Cloud Manager agent to manage backup and restore of your database. It will store your backup data in MongoDB cloud.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It provides point-in-time restore, continuous and online backup solution as a fully managed service.

"MongoDB - My Favorite NoSQL DB"
What do you like best?

Having a background in object oriented programming, I found MongoDB to be easy to understand from a conceptual level. Unlike SQL based DB's, it is based on BSON (Binary JSON), which allows you to create more dynamic schemas and data structures.Instead of using tables and rows, you use collections and documents, which makes sense in an Object Oriented programming environment. As part of the MEAN stack, MongoDB goes perfectly with Node.JS projects, which can be used for both web and mobile application development. Overall, it is flexible, easy to use, and with an understanding of JavaScript, very intuitive.

What do you dislike?

Mongo may not be the best solution for running large complex transactions. You may also have issues migrating from a SQL based solution to Mongo, without careful planning. I would recommend for new projects, not necessarily legacy solutions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

MongoDB has great training tools and courses you can enroll into. I highly recommend signing up for the courses, which can take 5-8 weeks to complete. Great tools and resources, which I was very satisfied with!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

MongoDB Atlas to manage DB Clusters of cloud based MongoDB instances, along with MongoDB Compass. With the tool I am able to manage users, set up teams and set back ups. There is also various charting tools you can use for visualization services (ala Tableau or Google Datastudio).

"Mongo has the best cluster."
What do you like best?

It was so easy to create and handle the cluster. Also, when it comes to bring the data into the server, works really fast. The Live Migration Service is a free service that allows you to migrate data to Mongo and you should live this awesome experience when it comes to Data migration, that Mongo provides. I want to mention, as well, that you can pause the cluster, whenever you want, and the price is lower, which is great for when you are not using it. Mongo has a great Support service, all the tickets have a quick response.

What do you dislike?

The referral program is a little bit complicated. Even though the program is awesome to motivate you to share Mongo with colleagues.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would higly recommend the M10 cluster.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

You can create several clusters and save a bunch of information. It is great for Data science.

"Cloud Management Made Easy!"
What do you like best?

The ability to quickly see all of my different database servers in an easy to recognize format. I also enjoy that I can quickly and seamlessly move between versions.

The real time metrics and overall reporting are incredibly useful in determining server problems.

What do you dislike?

I cannot recall anything specific that I dislike on this product.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This implementation was significantly easier to manage than attempting to manage our various mongdb servers and installations via Chef.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We're solving our automation and management of our private database cluster. The cluster is self hosted; but mongodb cloud manager helps us automate it easily.

"Ease of environment management with database."
What do you like best?

It simplifies to a great extent the insertion of elements and data in the structures with the platform, the calls are diverse according to the structure, but the data preprocessor is the same for all, keeps the connection as stable and the loading process and Consultation is handled by sharing in which it distributes and divides it into ranges to process the data faster.

What do you dislike?

The structure is simple but the options in the loads are a bit slow and complex, it requires a lot of attention to be able to understand the data process and the preprogrammed tasks, there should be a more concrete documentation with this topic.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We can easily manage the integration of the database in applications, from the platform you can create data without complex queries and test them before integrating it into your code.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The evaluation of the fluo of data transfer in a very important subject for the visualization and improvement of the data system, with this platform we obtain those results and we evaluate the process of loading more relevant in the applications.

"MongoDB and its Cloud Manager"
What do you like best?

The cloud manager for mongoDB has made mongo's deployment very easy online. The greatest features are the hearty storage space, and the NoSQL database. Stitching multiple applications has been very easy through the Atlas cloud manager. I have also found the setup guide easy and interactive.

What do you dislike?

The pricing model for MongoDB itself (Not just the cloud manager) is quite expensive. If the pricing was better, I would give it a 10 on 10!

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would recommend scaling the MongoDB up for good cloud manager performance, and exploring the free try sandbox first.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our team uses MongoDB Cloud Manager to manage our clusters, update our databases and stitch applications as needed. I think this software has been very well implemented and the control it provides is unreal!

"An effective solution to manage user data"
What do you like best?

SQL cannot handle every use case. The nice thing about MongoDB is the ability to store large blobs of data in easily accessible ways, in order to grab this information quickly and efficiently.

What do you dislike?

It is *very* particular for its use case. The important thing is to make sure you know what you're using it for, and trying to change DB structure after initial setup can be brutal. Having the data remote means it's harder to diagnose and fix issues.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I see a lot of people trying to decide between SQL and NoSQL DB structures; both of them have their uses, and both use cases are absolutely valid and necessary. Be mindful about the way you want your data structured, and then having the right tools for that. The Cloud Manager makes it easier to monitor issues and to keep track of your usage.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Storing user data accessible by a user ID - save data
