Microsoft PowerPoint is generally viewed as a user-friendly and powerful tool for creating presentations. Users appreciate its ease of use, wide range of templates and design options, and integration with other Microsoft Office products. However, some reviewers note that its design features could be more modern and that collaborative editing could be smoother. While PowerPoint excels at presenting information visually and is widely recognized, its templates and animations can sometimes feel outdated, and users express a desire for more robust customization options.

The best feature in PowerPoint is your ability to create custom colors and 'paint' them onto graphs, tables, charts or icons throughout your presentation. This is a super helpful key feature. Additionally, this is a seamless software for creating templates for presentations and saving them for future users.
PowerPoint is limited in its ability to develop intuitive, helpful icons that better explain the information on the page. The charts and graphs function is slightly limited in the types of charts you can use and how information is translated.
My biggest problem that it solves is creating templates that are consistent and easy to use for several users across the organization. Consistency is key and maintaining branding through presentations is equally important. PPT allows for seamless consistency.
Powerpoint is a great presentation application for a wide range of use cases. It's easy to use and rich in features that help me design professional slides with comprehensive visual elements. I like the artificial intelligence capabilities in the Design idea pane. It recommends themes and colors based on the slide's content.
There is almost nothing that I dislike about Microsoft PowerPoint. It works well with my use cases over the years. But it would be great if it runs faster on the cloud.
It would be great to follow Microsoft for education PowerPoint support forum as they keep you informed with the latest updates, tips and tricks, and engaging short video tutorials.
As an Instructional Designer, PowerPoint makes it easy for me to design storyboards, professional presentations, and educational materials that I can access on the cloud from anywhere. Also, I use it to help my students get familiar with creating mind maps and then exporting them as pic/pdf files with no need for any other applications.
Flexibility and the ability to export to PDF for user documentation
Can be slow to load and export to PDF. The autosave also slows it down but is useful.
I use PowerPoint with Snagit 2023 to create training documents and to record work done in our ticketing system. The ability to export to PDF but also maintain the PowerPoint file for future edits/updates makes it ideal for training.
Since it has been there for long, creating presentations is extremely simple. You can add sounds, narrations, Words files, Excel sheets and animation to your slides with PowerPoint. It can be easily integrated to Office 365. It can be opened on any devices. You can easily customize template and you also choose from suggestions that it provides as you go along. The presenter gets to see next slides and can prepare himself for the transition. Presenter can refer to notes which will not be seen by the audience. Also, the entire presentation can be printed and given as a hang-out to participants.
Presentation gets a little heavy when you have voice narration on it and viewers have the option of not turning on the narration. The auto-play feature is not there if you are sharing the presentation with somebody. Also, we can make video presentations on PowerPoint. Rest is fine with PowerPoint.
I would recommend users to spend time on PPT to explore all of the features on it. You can do a lot more than you think you can on PowerPoint.
The main benefit is that everybody is familiar with PowerPoint and it's really simple to create a presentation on PowerPoint if you have the content. All you have to do is put your content on it and you are all set. It will automatically keep on giving you layout suggestions which is really great. I personally feel that there is still a lot more features on PowerPoint that most of us still don't use before of unawareness. We needed to add narration to our PPTs which we ourselves didn't know until recently.
This program has served me well from the time I learned it in middle school to now when I use it for some of my work presentations. I like the variety of options for animating slides and also the nice selection of slide templates for work presentations.
When I use a different program for some of my other work presentations, I like the ability to collaborate with coworkers on a presenation in real time. That's not something I've experienced with Microsoft PowerPoint.
Take some time to explore the platform. There are a lot of professional slide decks to choose from and a lot of fun slide decks to choose from. It has really evolved over the years and can serve you well for your professional or personal needs for presentations.
As an editor, I train my writing teammates on word choice, grammar rules, team-specific content, and more. It's helpful to have something to look at while I talk and also something for teammates to look back at later for a refresher.
I like the design, which is simple and very intuitive. I love the transitions that give a super different effect to the presentation, making the slide very dynamic and intuitive.
The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't enable "autosave" on its own the first time you create a slide, which has caused me to lose a few jobs.
I can present videos, web pages, everything directly from a presentation created by power point, I can make interactive slides which avoids having to pay for other tools.
I love that PowerPoint continues to make updates to their software with modern templates and features. I've literally been using them for years.
To be honest there isn't anything I don't like about their software.
PowerPoint allows myself and my colleagues to create very informative visualizations for our clients and audiences that are like none other. When making a presentation, it's so easy to make something that is stylish but simple.
PowerPoint is a multi-purpose presentation software. It is accessible both on local devices and in the cloud and requires minimal training or practice for effective use. It continually introduces new features and supports various add-ins like Camtasia, third-party design tools, presentation themes, and AI-powered features. It is easy to implement, Integrate, and use.
PowerPoint provides options to convert and export the slides to various file formats and styles. Also, it has excellent user support forums, tutorials, and extensive user communities available in various languages.
While PowerPoint is a robust presentation solution, its constant evolution and introduction of new features can make it increasingly complex for new users.
PowerPoint enables me to create and present professional slide decks both locally and online. It allows me to record my screen and slides to create video tutorials. Also, I use its design capabilities to create infographics and export them as PDF files. The PowerPoint auto-save option keeps my presentations safe on OneDrive against unexpected devices shutting down or powering off.
I like that I can integrate other MS Products and other external links and apps to enhance my presentation. Sharepoint specifically helps me manage my presentation/document and contents that can be incorporated in my slides.
I think copying templates can be improved more
Sharepoint and Powerpoint integration saves me time and effort. By embedding SharePoint documents, links, files and lists to my powerpoint presentation, I can ensure that everyone has access to the most up to date information without switching apps. Also, I just need to make sure that the source is updated.
