Merchant-E is easy to use, and it's quite strict with the log in details which makes it safer and more trustworthy to use. I like that the reports I need are almost as real time as it could get, or way earlier than other commerce websites, and the website is easy to navigate.
What I dislike about it is the graphics, it's not really that user-friendly.
Merchant-E helps us to consolidate customer payments and easily directs to the company the payments without issues. It may show the report in batch for the whole period or whichever chosen period, or per transaction basis.
If I had to choose what I like best about MeS I would say there communication is best when you are the merchant. In dealing with other processors I have really struggled with a lack of communication back and forth, but MeS does a great job of staying in contact and does slow down your process at all.
I personally have a very hard time navigating the online portal. User friendly is not a way that I would describe the platform. In fact, I would find it very necessary for MeS to provide tutorials on their platform just so people can understand the different tabs, categories, and links for each page.
Be sure that you are okay learning a difficult online portal. If you are not comfortable with navigating websites that dont provide much explanation then you should look into other options. On the other hand if you are happy with learning a new site and just want good communication and resolve on most issues then this company is the one for you.
MeS is our credit card processor for all cards outside of Amex. I personally work with them on the Chargeback portion of the system, but they also assist in all refunds, charges, and statements related to our members credit cards. The benefits that I gain from using MeS are around issue resolution. Whenever an issue arises they are on top of it and make every effort to be there for us as the merchant.
Currently I am finding nothing to like. My company used Merchant-e for over 20 years and got good value until the last year.
Merchant-e drastically increased their total cost as a percent of my sales over the last year. They have had disruptive system failures twice in the last several months. Then they accidentally introduced a bug into the link between my company's website and their payment portal which shut down my business for 10 days until one of their techs could be convinced to fix the error. That bug led to over 4 hours of time on the phone trying to get satisfactory resolution. Finally, due to very poor support from Merchant-e reps, I closed my account with them and was hit with a large early termination fee (after more than 20 years of using their service).
Find another alternative. You will be glad you did.
Used Merchant-e as my company's customer credit card payment portal. Fees have gone from good to terrible in recent years.
They are cheap, and that is of course a benefit. Beyond that, they do seem to be modernizing their technology. I suppose that is good.
This is just not a serious company. Trying to get anything from them technologically is a nightmare. I am currently going through a process where they lost all my tokenizations after botching a software upgrade that I had been waiting on for weeks after it was supposed to be initially done. Nobody seems to be on the same page. If you hear something from one person, know that is just their opinion and not the opinion of the company as a whole, because no such thing exists.
They are cheap, but if you ever want to do anything remotely complex, my advice is to go with another solutions provider.
They process my payments, and they do it very cheaply. That is the benefit. They also integrate with NetSuite, although the way they do that is suboptimal compared to other providers. Maybe you get what you pay for.

MeS has been very easy to adopt and integrate into our hosted ERP application. Setup costs and ongoing fees are reasonable. Integration with NetSuite is solid.
