The easy to follow directions and the multi layered effects you can use in the design phase.

There is nothing rhat i dont like about Media Beacon except that it did not come out 20 years ago when i first started in the field

The impact is tremendous and the virtual design world we are finding exponential uses for this software

What do you like best?

Media Beacon permite llegar fácilmente grandes cantidades de activos. Puede tener millas de activos que suman un total de gigabytes. La plataforma también se puede personalizar para el aspecto de su negocio y para el proceso.

Las API para cargar activos de forma programática no están completamente cocidas y no tienen una gran documentación

Media Beacon nos permitimos consolidarnos en un solo sistema de administración de activos. Antes teníamos 4 y esto suponía un gran ahorro de costes y ahorro de tiempo

"Takes a lot to set up, but worth it."

What do you like best?

Easy to upload, intuitive and easy to navigate. We have someone in house that is dedicated to getting everyone trained, so we might have it a little easier than most people, but it is such a good project.

What do you dislike?

It does take a long time to get this set up, but like I said in my title, well worth it in the end. I would recommend getting someone who can learn everything there is to know about this before implementing. It can be kind of a beast to tackle at first, but the more you use it, the more you get to know it (just like any software.)

Nothing really! We are still in the implementation process.

We are in the process of moving from an older filing system to a new one, so this has been a real winner in helping us locate files more easily. We can now have employees access files from anywhere in the world and not have to be connected to an internal server anymore. We have been looking for a switch for a couple years and MediaBeacon has been a lifesaver.

"A long time user of MediaBeacon - one of the most flexible DAM systems I have encountered."

What do you like best?

One of the most open and flexible toolsets for Dgital Asset Management, we have rarely encountered a workflow issue that could not be solved when using MediaBeacon. MediaBeacon has supported even the most arcane of requirements as a premedia/print production tool.

Most other DAM systems on the market lack the ability to support industrial strength applications, while MediaBeacon continues to chew up high volume batch processes.

What do you dislike?

Each new major release of MediaBeacon introduces challenges, with only the bravest and most foolhardy/desperate taking a decision to implement a new version until at least patch release 3 or 4. The new features are usually quite powerful and innovative but code implementation and execution is very uneven.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Assess your requirements for DAM extremely carefully. MediaBeacon is not the best DAM product for online workflows and production, and lacks the type of advanced Web Experience CMS features that several other companies on the market promise.

However, as a 'heavy-lifting' tool for working with extreme volumes of images and storage data, you would be hard pressed to find any other tool that can apply to as many requirements as MediaBeacon can.

Industrial high volume image and page production for retail flyer premedia production.

We have been able to integrate workflows across multiple partners in the supply chain, and to automate several key processes, providing savings in labor and time.

"MediaBeacon continues to shine."

What do you like best?

XMP metadata centric workflow. Flexibility that the portal architecture offers our end users.

What do you dislike?

Can take longer than I would like to stamp very large groups of assets. Can take longer than I would like to rebuild the Revolution Database.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This product continues to impress as it compares to others on the market. The portal flexibility sets MediaBeacon apart from competitors and allows any company to create custom looks, experiences and use cases for their end users. MB allows you to take it as far as you would like with very little limitations.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We built a "self-serve" asset workflow for our company saving time and money. Fewer phone calls are necessary. Additionally we greatly ease the burden of metadata entry by automating the majority of the XMP stamping for each file.

"MediaBeacon R3volution- very good, easy to install enterprise product"

What do you like best?

Good enterprise product with many features. Easy to install. Very robust video features. Modern web-based interface with a lot of customization available. Robust user profile settings. Very good search capabilities. Features very customizable.

What do you dislike?

A bit of a steep learning curve. Interface can sometimes be too overwhelming. Users/Groups/ACL model for permissions and security can be confusing. Updates are often buggy. User based license model. Users often do not take full advantage of features because there are so many.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Get trained by someone who is very familiar with the product. There are a lot of features and customization options which can be very useful or overwhelming.

Enterprise level product at affordable level. Easy to install and configure for basic use.
