I like so much to have total control of all the collections and datasource settings since the site and in addition to that the multiple options that it offers to generate query pipelines and the speed with which a datasource is loaded, I love its interface, which is very friendly and allows quick access to different configurations, the handling of roles and permissions by roles to users, are configurations that are very well detailed to limit the security of the tool
It has some issues that occasionally happen, such as that you cannot see the jobs or it is not so flexible to change data types to the fields, for example from an int to a string, and when you delete the field it seems that a log is left which gives problems if you want to create another field with the same name but of different type
Do not hesitate, it is an experience in the handling of totally different data which end users will thank, Consider that you can link it to different applications which they already use, such as database handlers, in my case I link it to sql server, installing the correct driver I have not had any problems, I highly recommend it
The super fast search of data for different types of query, where through types of custom fields that I generate previously I can perform searches that would take a lot of processing to do every time they are directly requested from a database manager such as SQL Server.
Comparatively others technologies, it would be helpful for node out and node in without having any trouble.
Still cross data center replication was not implemented correctly.

Tuning the queries

From a huge data base of students, it was very easy to search and manage the data with the help of contextual search and scalability options. With the help of AI the data that processed could be used with many domains. Definately helped alot in ramping up student details while the admissions begin
the Fusion tool is a great application that helps integrate with Apache Solr. The added benefits from using the licensed version are what sold our company. We have the ability to enrich queries sent to Solr by doing lookups within query pipelines. The Scheduler allows us to do deltas at convenient times for users.
banana dashboard is not usable. This has been updated in version 4.1+. As the tool continues to be upgraded by the Lucidworks engineers, I would like to see additional, specific communication about what changes to performance within individual components.
Consider the added benefits of the licensed software on top of the Apache Solr engine. Query pipelines work great to enrich search queries and results. That allows a lot of flexibility to the developer and also when tracking search terms and other analytics.
Enterprise search for a corporate application is facilitated by the use of the tool. Fast results for most use cases. The biggest benefit has been the full-text search capability. We switched to Solr/Fusion away from our in-house simple phrase match search. The benefits of the enterprise search solution has positioned us not only to give more flexible search results to our immediate users, but also to other user bases within our company in the future.

Data Integration and transformations issues
Working with Solr, we come across different scenarios and is great to get help fast. The lucidworks support has been really great for that. It also helps us learn new features and take part in the community discussions.
Doubting how effectively we can use the support. If we don't raise tickets, we get mostly nothing out of it. This isn't really a complaint. But, if i have to dislike something, it would be this.
Would be nice to get proactive support with new features and bugs.

The product. Fusion + App Studio are fantastic search tools with near infinite capabilities. Not only is it easy to maintain, but the search customization options are insane. You can build your own entire screen using App studio to make it however you need.
Customer service. When we reached out to customer service, there is always a few days of back and forth spent re-familiarizing the support tech with our particular techstack. As a large organization I'd expect there to be more people aware of how our environment operates. Seems that employee turnover is also quite high, which is slightly concerning. Most of the engineers who helped us set up the tool initially are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful (with the exception of a new employee at the time). It seems that non-technical people don't know their product as well as I'd expect.
Also the technical documentation is poor to say the least. There are broken code segments littered in many places (or at least there were during my implementation) which make it really hard to read sample code segments. And sometimes the documentation doesn't provide any of the answers you're looking for.
When talking with people post-implementation, press hard to get into contact with an engineer. The customer service reps will ask for a lot of clarification that the engineers will likely already know.
We have set up Search for crawling a number of internal data sources. We have gotten many pieces of feedback stating that search performance and relevancy has increased drastically since we implemented lucidworks.
Easy instructions and manuals with enterprise support if you were to host a solr cloud cluster on perm. Instructions around lucene/solr api. Instructions on setting up zookeeper.
Sometimes the replies from the support around complicated solr questions takes forever to be answered. They do not seem to understand the product at a deeper level. Once it gets escalated it gets resolved faster.
Know the product and the roadmaps before investing on it. Talk to the sales and technical representatives on your use cases.
