It's got to be the people. Lingotek has people who are committed to your success, and demonstrate the commitment consistently.
The TMS, while very powerful, takes some time to learn. I've used other TMS systems before (Sovee, Smartling, etc.) and the Lingotek one is the most complex. But it's also the most powerful.
Translation is, of course, the most obvious problem. But translation *with* localization is a big stumbling block for everyone. My team is continuing to work with the Lingotek teams to develop better solutions for localizing translated content, so that it resonates well with our target audiences around the world.
One of the best Lingotek features is their support. I have a dedicated Language Services PM, a dedicated TAM, and an Account Manager who are all up to speed on my accounts. Additionally, their translation memory system makes the translation process very cost-effective. The flexibility of their workflows is unmatched. We're able to configure any type of workflow required by our clients.
I've had difficulty with a few inherited installs of Lingotek, but we were able to work out the details with a little hard work and coordination.
We need to reliably translate content in Drupal with a variety of different workflows. We've found that by standardizing on Lingotek we have been able to streamline the process and develop a strong relationship with their team. The primary benefit is a repeatable process.
The user interface is very simple. I am able to set up new users in minutes. Translations are returned on time. However, overall the support and service from Lingotek are the best.
Sometimes we need a second round of translations due to the first set not being up to standard.
Lingotek has more than exceeded my expectations. Before choosing Lingotek as our translation partner, I looked at many other providers, and my organization was concerned about costs. However, we were convinced that they had the best interface and that over time it would prove as a cost-saving vs. how we used to get translations because of the translation memory bank. This has proven to be the case now that our entire organization (departments) globally has adopted Lingotek. Additionally, the account management and support teams at Lingotek have been exceptional!
Having all departments use Lingotek and leveraging the translation memory ensures our content is consistent and saves us money.
Top clients, very interesting/nurturing projects, good payment conditions, reasonable deadlines.
My experience with Lingotek is spotless!
Top human quality and best working environment I have had the pleasure to be with!
No problems whatsoever.
Lingotek is easy to use and supports so many languages, even some of the rare languages. It also offers a great number of features that help make the translation and review process very easy.
Sometimes the tasks do not appear, and I have to clear my computer cash memory to be able to see the jobs
It enables me to have all my translation and review work in one place.
Lingotek's workbench uses an innovative approach to managing projects, keeping track of assignments, and quality control. Very easy to use and a huge time-saver for language professionals. Lingotek's team is responsive and always there in case of questions.
I can't think of any criticism to give this company except that I wish they had more projects to translate in my language pair.
I worked with this company for years; they are a realible partner.
It's a very user-friendly tool and it doesn't need much training to learn how to use it.
The interface is not very functional, meaning you cannot have at the same time a view of the TM and of the glossary.
For a translator is a very straightforward tool.
It is required to work on a specific job for a specific client.
I’ve been using Lingotek TMS as a translator for many years. It’s a streamlined and friendly translation tool, with a neat interface and a complete set of translation features. It’s fast and convenient, and any professional translator can learn to use it in no time. It provides all the standard functions a translator needs, including an excellent Context viewer where most source files can be viewed (and downloaded) to check the layout, and where the translated text can also be seen in context as the translation work progresses. Assets can be exported for translation in other tools, if needed, or to be checked in external QA tools, though TMS also features an easy to use internal QA tool. Translator can forget about saving the assets, because the entire process takes place online. There’s also a great support team that can help with any questions.
Nothing, really. Just one suggestion for future updates: t would be great to be able to obtain updated translation logs as the translation work progresses.
It's helped increase my productivity with all my Lingotek translation projects.
ingotek has been around for some time, and while it might not be as universally used as other tools, like Smartling or Worldserver, it has a lot of advantages over them:
Lingotek has more connectors than any other major TMSs. That gives you the ability to work with multiple files or platform compatible formats without leaving your TMS environment.
Lingotek is much more intuitive to use and has a much lower learning curve. Implementing a management system, or switching from another one, can be a hassle. Lingotek just makes these processes easier for the linguists, managers, and clients.
Lingotek has a tight integration with major CMSs, as well as with Salesforce. You probably already use one or more of these tools, anyway. I particularly like the integration that Lingotek has with WordPress, using the PolyLang plugin.
Lingotek is just beautiful. If you, like me, are also into interface design and usability, you will find Lingotek a joy to use.
Lingotek is not as universally used as Smartling or Worldserver, and that might be a problem if you're working with clients that require those tools, but overall Lingotek has the best user experience.
While there is not such a thing as the best tool – you may find that Worldserver or XTRF will better suit your needs, and that’s fine – I consider Lingotek the best player in the game, due to its simplicity, beautiful UI, and tight connection with major services out there.

It can support many formats of files and you can easily find the track changes among different phases.
It requires very good network, the speed working on it is not fast.
The webpage on ICR phase was not displaying well. It's convenient to divide different files to many linguists if necessary.
