"Great survey tool for smart researches"

What do you like best?

Well, it does what it says. Not to mention it's free and open-source with loads of possibilities to create good looking and practical surveys.

What do you dislike?

If you want to edit survey which is live - you get into problems. You need either stop survey and archive already collected answers or delete them. Kind of tricky.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Doing research and collecting statistically important numbers.

"For the price (FREE), you can't beat it. Ultimate customization."

What do you like best?

The ability to customize practically anything within the survey is what separates Limesurvey from some of the other survey softwares out there (Google, SurveyMonkey, etc.). It does take quite a long time to learn many of the features of Limesurvey (there are A LOT). But once you do, it's a fantastic tool. It is an open-source software. So it's free, but that means you also don't get a support team. HOWEVER, there are forums, bug reports, and a whole LimeSurvey community that is mostly very willing and able to help.

What do you dislike?

I don't like how different some of the versions are from each other. I am still using a version from 2 generations ago because I don't want to take on the learning curve of the newest versions. It's completely different from what I'm used to.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you find yourself needing more features/customizability than what other free survey softwares provide, Limesurvey is perfect. The limesurvey community will help you with anything you need. There are even some people who have consulting services specifically for Limesurvey. You can find them in the forums.

We can run surveys with practically any questions, any branding, any features imaginable.

"Excellent and Versatile Survey Software"

What do you like best?

LimeSurvey allows you to build both simple and complicated surveys and forms. Although it is primarily for surveys, I've found it can also be used in place of online quiz-taking software for pairing with in-house training materials. LimeSurvey produces attractive surveys through a polished administration interface.

What do you dislike?

There is a lack of control over some of the automatic emails to survey takers, which can affect the user experience. This is mainly a problem when I use it for registration forms or training quizzes. Also, some ease-of-use features are only available to paying clients; since we use the self-hosted community edition, updates are more difficult. (We have a limited budget that necessitates us to use community editions.)

We have been able to handle all our surveys, in-house training quizzes, and registration forms on one platform.

"Limesurvey is a sound solution"

What do you like best?

The ability to have non-technical staff get up to speed quickly to create advanced surveys. The thorough summary/statistics on submitted survey data is very user friendly. The 'Comfort Update' features makes a daunting task a breeze!

What do you dislike?

Sometimes finding resolutions in the forums to some questions I have about issues is tedious.

Our university uses Limesurvey to collect alumni information for tacking and college advancement purposes. The ability for the staff users to quickly get survey statistics about demographic and surveyed user interest areas helps them to more accurately target gifting opportunities.

"Really Good Program"

What do you like best?

Simple and useful. Fast and functional! There are no issues of difficulty using. A great ability to create custom designs. Easy and quick availability of professional support from Limesurvey Partners program.

There are a number of available question types so it can vary based on topic. It is easy to launch and manage and easy to generate useful reports or data in spreadsheet format.

What do you dislike?

Difficulty installing and challenging to edit. I wish the serve update wasn't paid, but I I understand that you need to make money on the service. On the other hand, I did not like that it is limited in the ways to edit.

Just began using this so I am still seeing all of the functions. There are faster survey time to live and more question types. It is becoming quick to learn, and is meeting our needs.

"In love with Lime Survey"

What do you like best?

I really like how easy it is to set it up. The logic is great. Very easy to get results. The online manual is just incredible detailed and very well explained. I like the flexibility of options for questions and formats. Very simple to launch and manage. You can easily generate useful reports or data in spreadsheet format. One of the things i like the most is the ability to create custom designs, have been struggling for this with previous platforms. One more thing that I love is the functionality for the respondents to save an unfinished survey and come back later to finish it.

What do you dislike?

So once the survey is live and you need to edit something, that is challenging. The ways you can edit is very limited because the previous data can get deleted. Need to pay for good themes. Some question formats were a little confusing. Took some time master it. Very little analytical capability. We use Microsoft Excel to analyse the results of the surveys conducted. Took a while to get used to the user interface of it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Me and my team are really happy with the platform. It does what it says really well and their manual is really helpful if ever you get stuck somewhere.

It is helping us understand our Target Audience much better. We are able to conduct psychological tests as well which is one of the key things we needed a survey platform.

"Great tool for create surveys "

What do you like best?

This is a good tool for create surveys, it's all made online , you can create a survey with your admin account , it's very easy to use and totally user friendly , you don't need to know about codes or whatever to create your surveys then you just give the user url and you can star collecting data for what you need to know.

It's , with the premium edition you can get also templates for make your surveys more attractive.

It's an open source so you can modify it if you want , and use it for commercial purpose.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that for with the free account you can just get 25 responses, which is almost nothing if you want to do it in a large scale.

But you can upgrade or pay for more responses .

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I am not a pro for in surveys but if you want an easy to use software for surveys this is a good option .

A recommendation can be : try to know before what kind of result you want , like if you want to extend the survey to hundreds of peoples so maybe there are choices that will cost you less then Lime.

I used some times for my art projects or events, for example if i wish to bring some change to my project or to organize events that needs a to know what my contacts prefer.

What do you like best?

Its stable, free and well maintained OpenSource software from a very nice group of activists

What do you dislike?

It is not always easy to find help very fast - but it is there Docs, forum and chat.

"Free open source simple"

What do you like best?

When its installed its really good, it offers everything you might need to run surveys in a local environment, this for me was very important to hold all data in house instead of it leaving the network

What do you dislike?

The install and update process is overly complicated. A simple installer with integrated database would be a great thing. Also options to integrate this with resources to do better reporting would be a great add

Me encanta poder usarla en linea y en mi teléfono inteligente ya que gracias a esto puedo tener acceso a los resultados de las encuestas desde cualquier lugar, es muy fácil de usar y provee ademas una excelente equipo de atención al cliente.

Es muy buena, practica, directa y facil de usar, no encuentro ningun aspecto negativo.
