As a remote web designer, its great to work with the in-store staff to get them entering products and inventory while keeping an eye on their entries and building out the eCom website.
There's not much to dislike. Most features we have needed are there. But the in-store folks could better answer that questions since they use retail more than I. However, I train them in products and features and all their requests so far I have been able to work out and get them past easily.
Serialized products are important to us. There could be better documentation in Lightspeed help on this topic. But after realizing how it works, it seems useful.
I like the ease of use with the integrations that help me to run my business. All my sales get sent to quickbooks and the integrated payment processing with Lightspeed payments is a valuable tool. No longer do I need to manually enter the price from Lightspeed to my payment processor. Complete the sale in the app and send the payment to Lightspeed payments and it's handled.
The one thing I would like to see is a monthly statement for customer accounts

1. LS pos doesn't have custom fields for inventory items.
2. also the account feature could be a lot improved, the ability to view customer statements could be a lot better! the ideal way is to look at a customer statement like a bank statement with a balance column on the right side showing the balance after each transaction
3. i would love lightspeed to implement the option of creating an "invoice" like in QB, also the option of editing a invoice after it is done like in QB. and after Receiving a payment and applying this payment to the invoice. that is a most have for big account that they buy big and make payment.

We used to have a third party connecting our software with our ecom, which made it very glitchy and it would sometimes take too long to update any changes. It is very fast and easy now.
We use Lightspeed POS for PC for customer transactions and inventory control. The customer interface is simple and easy to use; inventory is pretty simple to create items and add stock, individually or via purchase order. The data on customer purchases comes in handy when customers forget what they purchased in the past, or I want to check the size or type of shoe they bought previously. We have two separate registers, as we have two different parts to the store; bike, and triathlon. I can track sales and do reports on the triathlon side separately from the bike side, which is advantageous. We also cash out the two POS terminals separately.
There is a lot of flexibility in creating inventory items and categories. It's also easy to reconcile inventory items/amounts to physical counts.
It would be nice to assign inventory to either side of the store instead of one all-encompassing inventory. (ie bike shop vs tri shop) I do it manually in Excel currently
