I tried the trial and used it for a few days before making my decision to purchase the license for my two Mac devices. I really like the simplicity of the application. You may find many AI chat apps, but the best thing about Kerlig is its sleek UI, which looks very native to the Mac ecosystem, and its simplicity. You may not find too many fancy features with Kerlig, but you are getting what you need with the product. I suggest you give it a trial and purchase the license if it meets your requirements.

I am happy with its functionality and design, but I wish the custom prompt were with it. The great news is that the developer announced it is coming in the new release.

Quick AI assist tasks like summarizing, explaining, etc. Also, writing assistance like grammar fixing, rewriting, etc.

I can invoke it while working on any app on my computer and immediately use AI models to suit my requirements I have in the moment.

Absence of hot keys to invoke the commands. I have to open the app using its shortcut. Then, I have to select the particular command I want to implement by scrolling through a drop-down and then selecting the models and presets. Although it's a good workflow, we should have the option to use hotkeys to call the commands on the selected text immediately.

Many times I have to deal with various kinds of tasks related to a particular text. Kerlig helps me perform most of these tasks effectively.

It is an app that covers all my needs for mac. just select and iimprove the text, translate it, make shorter...or just ask... Rapid prgress and easy to chat with the owner for feature requests.

I'd love to have more that one window open when pinned!

Kerlig blends in macOS and mots of my apps. Its design looks simple for the users, but it is very efficient.

It progress slowly but steady too, with goor functions, for reeally daily work. I can use local models with Ollama.

For now, almost nothing to dislike, I can remember.

Onboarding process has its non-design flaws – you've got to have access to model APIs. As not that much of a technical person, I'd love simple login or access provided by Kerlig.

It integrates a variety of GenAI LLMs (Generative AI Large Language Models) like ChatGPT, Claude, Llama3, Mixtral, etc. via your own API key(s), so you can decide what model you use for your specific purpose. You can even switch tonality and define your own system prompts to better fit your needs.

Since using Kerlig, switching between my operating system and browser has become much more efficient (you know the pain of all the back-and-forth work between any app and the browser, right?). Available shortcuts are super handy and easy to grasp after a few uses. I highly recommend trying it – I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Plus, the customer support team has been exceptional.

Adding a "Recents" section or history feature might be a cool addition.

Helping with research is a big plus; it makes finding and putting together information a lot easier. If you need to communicate in different languages, it’s great for that too. It also helps catch grammar and spelling mistakes. When you’re stuck on what to write about, it throws in some good content ideas. Plus, it's really quick.
