Easier to know what jobs to work on. The triage feature is quite useful. Customer support is great.

It would be nice if it was easier to pull reports. Clients have complained regarding the automated feature when sending emails.

Karbon is helpful with tracking efficiency and it's easy to setup budgets and review actual time entered for projects. It's also great there is a timer feature for tracking time. It's easy to know what jobs we are working on. When they are due and if we are going under or over budget with the time put into projects.

1) Client-facing tasks allow you to automate tedious things such as monthly document collection.

2) It is easy to create and/or customize templates to automate common work. Daily, Monthly, quarterly and yearly.

3) Karbon provides hundreds of premade templates, including specific templates for specific nations. I am Canadian and found templates for our particular tax requirements.

4) Our clients freaking love the Karbon portal...no seriously...we got dozens of compliments within a couple of months of implementing Karbon.

5) Interoffice communication is easy, especially when multiple people work on the same file.

6) You have easy access to all emails sent to a client from everyone in your office. You can see emails from the other members of your office. This helps avoid spending lots of time trying to catch up on a client file if your colleague is out of the office or on vacation.

7) You are able to drag existing work directly into your Outlook or Google calendar to block schedule. This is a great way to plan your entire week.

8) Karbon provides a number of educational opportunities, such as blog posts and webinars. Many are specific to Karbon but others are of interest to people in the field in general.

9) The Karbon community is amazing!

1) There is a learning curve, and it will take time to fit Karbon into your workflow. You need to put the time into Karbon from the first time you log in. An excellent training program mitigates this.

its a seamless and clear way to prioritse workflow

I would like to be able to colour categorise things and plan things on specific days and see the items appearing in my karbon. ie having a time budget of 4 hours to work on something and being able to schedule out those hours and being able to colour categorise based on the type of job or urgency.

the timeline can be quite messy, the fact that only the writer of a note can be the one to edit it, the amount of reminders set for client emails - 5 is a bit excessive,

would like more flexible automators for specific things, ie when all the tasks in this section have not been completed over a certain timeframe, assign the job to admin and change the status to follow up

being able to seamless track our work and integrate our communications about that work into different areas so the right information is captured in the right place.

What I like best about Karbon is the way it connects with ProConnect Intuit and syncs all the returns that are due so no one gets left behind. Also that you can assign various task of the same project to different employees. It has really help our firm stay on top of things.

I would like it if everytime I have a new project or task assigned to me I can receive an email notification.

That some project were never done because it was left in a note or in a email. With Karbon we can see it in our works.

How it enabled me to manage my everyday work. Now I am able to easily share my work with my colleagues. The integration has been very easy with Karbon. Now I am almost not able to work without Karbon because this has been my lifeline when it comes to tasks that I needed to do every day. I have been using Karbon every day in the past year since I started working at PBS. When I have difficulty creating or drafting an email there's AI that can help me easily compose an email. When there are updates the team make sure that everyone knows by sending emails and all the popping notification making it easy for us to implement all updates within the team. When the system is down customer support is always available as well for all the questions that need answers.

Communication barries with colleagues and clients and event tasks management for the whole team and clients

Combining the ethos of triage (not working from your inbox and minimising notifications) with the reporting oversights, very useful workflow templates and future focused weekly newsletters.

Another notable point is the fast cadence at which Karbon listens to its user and rolls out useful feature and bug fixes.

I find there is a lot of great beneficial things that Karbon offers that other programs do not. At an old firm I worked at, we had to use a few different programs to encompass things that karbon offers all in its program. For my job description, having the ability to pull up reports quickly is key & I like how everything is easy to send @mentions & keep everything at your fingertips for quick recall on information

Karbon is a little confusing & hard to get the hang of when you first start using it, but thats normal for any program to a degree. Once you get the hang of it, there isn't really much to dislike about it though

Every problem I have come across for my purposes, Karbon has fixed for me so I don't have any at the moment. I did have a problem pulling reports that were bringing up a whole bunch of inactive jobs. Karbon had to do a batch delete on them so I didn't have to manually delete them one by one, which was wonderful!

Our business has greatly benefited from the value that Karbon brings to our workflow. Karbon, while useful in many aspects, has some limitations that need attention. The calendar feature falls short by not allowing the addition of events and event notifications, which hampers our scheduling. We also miss the ability to set up meetings and appointments through the email interface, a feature that would significantly enhance our workflow. Lastly, the absence of an out-of-office feature is a notable drawback, as it would help us keep our clients and team members informed of our availability when we're away from the office. These areas need improvement for Karbon to become a more comprehensive solution for our accounting firm.

Karbon addresses several critical challenges in our accounting practice, significantly benefiting our workflow. It streamlines task management, enhances collaboration, and centralizes communication. This has been especially valuable in keeping our team organized and informed, ensuring that project deadlines are met, and clients are well-served. Moreover, Karbon's integration with Microsoft 365 and various apps has eliminated the need to switch between multiple platforms, saving us time and reducing the risk of errors. Despite some limitations in its calendar and email integration, Karbon has undoubtedly improved our efficiency and teamwork, making it a valuable asset in our daily operations.

As discussed previously, It's easy to use and gives you an birds eye view of what you need to do via Triage.

It makes it easy to collaborate. You can sort your triage by tagging tasks/emails and uploading docs into related jobs.

In fact, Karbon made it easy to add jobs and assign tasks to myself and others.

I also like the audit trail so you can see which tasks were assigned to or from, job progress (as you can also check the status) or even the job history 3 years ago!

You never have to ask anyone or ask them to remember a task from 3 years ago because it is all in Karbon.

There is also a new feature that we totally love where it summarizes all the email threads. It's just amazing!

Karbon just simplifies our work life

The ability to systemise absolutely everything.

It could do with having some more 3rd party integrations. I know some are on the way (Google Drive especially!) but this would help to keep absolutely everything withing Karbon.

Zapier is obviously a useful tool as a workaround.

The biggest problem Karbon solves without a doubt is the ability for us to systemise every task. By doing this, it means we can have lesser skilled/experienced staff members doing work we otherwise would have left for more experienced team members as we are able to breakdown every job step by step for people to follow.

We're still a long way off completing this work, but we're taking the McDonalds approach of systemising everything for consistency of work throughout the business and ease of use by any member of staff.
