Many software packages try to be a Swiss Army knife of software. That increases complexity, setup time and learning curve. Join It focuses only on what we needed, membership management, signup, events and payment. The result was a one day setup and we were signing up members the next day. We are connected with Quick Books On-line and Emma.
I lot of users spend a lot of time trying to make a software package to do things their way. At first we were frustrated that Join It had their own way of doing things. But once we tried their way, we forgot whatever was the way we wanted to handle the process. In the end Join It was 100% correct.

Join It has eliminated all of our membership management challenges. Now we have the time to focus on getting new members vs. trying to setup and manage our existing members. Most organizations like ours don't have a dedicated IT or membership staff. If that sounds like your group Join It is what you need. I spent weeks trying to make another membership management to work FOR us. I had to hire an expert to make the system work. The other packages try to do everything like taking over our WEB site and doing our e-mail marketing. I like the apps we have in place now for those functions. Join It is laser focused on membership.

We came to JoinIt from another large and fairly well-known database provider. JoinIt didn't meet all our needs right away, but in the six months since we made the transition, we've been super impressed with the functionality, aesthetics, and integrations of the JoinIt database management system. Plus, most of the features we "wanted" but didn't "have to have" at the beginning of our transition are either already launched or on their way - the staff and support teams are amazing, work fast, and even have an open tracking board for requested features where you can provide direct feedback and upvote features you want to see. We're managing over 5,000 members here at a fraction of the cost and, while there are still a few features we'd like to have that we are managing workarounds for, the basics are exactly what we needed and we (and our members) love the interface and ease of integration with our other platforms (especially Stripe, Eventbrite, Slack, Quickbooks, Zapier, and Mailchimp).
Plus, if communication and responsiveness are important to you, as they are for us, you won't find a better company. I think in six months our longest wait on a support ticket has been 24 hours. They're incredibly quick to respond, honest when they can't fix something or don't have a solution yet, and easy to work with on solutions that do meet our needs in the interim.
There's really nothing we don't love so far - and trust me, we did a LOT of research and were super picky about where we chose to go next.
JoinIt is definitely worth a look - especially considering the ease of transporting over information from another system and the excellent customer service. I highly recommend it!
We use JoinIt as our primary membership database, and run all event registration for members through their Eventbrite integration. We also sync with Mailchimp for our active members lists, and use the integrations with Stripe and Quickbooks for financials. We're piloting several of the newer integrations as well through Zapier and Wordpress and are consistently impressed with the staff's quick responses, excellent customer service, and willingness to work with us on our specific needs and issues.
Switching to Join It supported my goals in a number of ways.
Eventbrite Integration made it possible for me to increase the visibility of my events, while still keeping the functionality of providing free and discounted tickets for various membership types. Eventbrite also integrates with Facebook, giving me an additional revenue stream of tickets purchased directly on Facebook.
Simplicity is the key benefit of this tool. I was previously using a tool that required a huge learning curve and was sometimes frustrating to figure out. Join It has a beautiful simplicity that makes it really easy to maneuver and teach new team members to utilize.
What's great about Join It is also the tough part as well. It is quite simplistic, so some aspects of a membership management tool are not available with the tool. One of my biggest challenges is not being able to schedule out communications using the tool, but it does integrate with MailChimp making it possible to do from there.
They are currently working to add a member directory, and when that is added the tool will be even closer to a perfect tool. That aspect really does help members feel they have access to one another.
Join It has been a huge support to my business. I run a membership organization with thousands of members, which requires strong administrative management to maintain effectively. The tool allows maintenance of the members list, profiles with detailed information about them, and allows people to join many membership types that are automatically renewable if desired.
I was able to save a significant monthly budget by moving to Join It from Wild Apricot. Saving me thousands per year without losing the most important features is a great reason to use this tool.
I like it's customise emails templates that automatically trigger upon specific members events.

Setting up was super easy....only took a couple of minutes. Their free version actually provides a good amount of functionality.

2) Easy member joining functionality
3) Eventbrite and mailchimp integration
For some of our needs, we had to go to external software providers and Join It does not yet have the ability to integrate with these providers via an API. Some of the 'nice-to-have' functionality is limited, relative to other premium service offerings.
If you have a big budget and a large staff, consider going with a more robust offering. Join It has everything you need, but just not all the bells and whistles of some other products.
We needed to move our membership out of a legacy excel spreadsheet, and hopefully upgrade our communication, event, and payment technology.
I now spend zero hours a week maintaining our membership database. This alone is worth the $20 a month fee.

Join It is made by people you want to work with, Mitch and Leah, my two main contacts at Join It are the loveliest humans. We knew we were going to pick Join It from our first meeting with them. Every other CRM, Ticketing or Membership System I had a meeting with didn't listen to us and talked over us whilst aggressively chasing us for a sale. Join It stood out and didn't try to tell us what features we needed.
Join It is a really intuitive platform, super easy for our whole team to use, even those who don't regularly need to. For us, key features were the Eventbrite integration, it wasn't the right step for us to have all our ticketing on our own website, Eventbrite has features we love and don't want to get rid of. Then, the customer service, it's prompt, responsive and very accommodating. Our other favourite features are the reporting capabilities and formatting of the membership profiles and the sign up page.
Join It is also constantly in development, they are actively always building and evolving the platform.
We've had a few ways in which we'd like to use the system not quite work out, however, that would be the same with any system that isn't a custom built system for your business. Through emailing Leah, we've always been able to find solutions.
We are a membership non profit and need a way to manage our 6,000+ members, we need to email them and see if they've attended our events. They need to be able to log in to a profile and update their details and pay. We need to display the profiles publically. We need to track and understand our membership so that we can meet their needs. We offer mentoring and need a way for members to pay for those packages.
Join It is essential to our needs, they allow us to achieve all of the above and are the exact right fit for the size of our organisation.
