Flexible Data Model, Easy to Use Interface, Extensive Integrations, Excellent Customer Support
Slow Performance, Complex Configuration, Limited Data Export Functionality, Unintuitive User Experience for Some Features
Inriver PIM, a product information management tool, receives mixed reviews from users. While some users find the interface intuitive and the features comprehensive, others criticize its high cost, occasional glitches, and limited customer support. Those who value its intuitive interface and extensive features rate it highly, while those who find it pricey and glitchy are less satisfied.

The User-friendly UI and ease of transition from one module to another is the best feature . I can edit product and media metadata with seamless ease is an upgrade from a legacy solution.
It is a process of getting used to a new system that takes time. In general, the performance of the different environments within inRiver is good, but that can improve.
Our team is building modern enterprise-wide PIM solutions integrating downstream and upstream channels. The inRiver implementation is encouraged to improve the efficiency of the backend systems and remove existing redundancies. We have achieved effective and valuable data in the initial data loading phases itself and looking forward to setting up a strong PIM system.
All data in one place, along with pictures. Easily feeds to other applications
Have to relearn stuff of the features when changes are made
All informtation can be found in one place and is used to update the website when changes are made. Makes things more productive.
I also like that all images are there and easy to look up
available product information
one source of truth for product information
the process of handling the core product information needed to market and sell products
Supporting ambitious digital and e-commerce agenda
cannot think of any now
maybe that introducing it we also need to change some other systems
PIM will bring significant value to our way of handling product information by:
Reducing complexity – process- and system alignment
Creating one source of truth – one central system
Guaranteeing reliable product information – updates from source systems and validated data
Supporting ambitious digital and e-commerce agenda – making information available for customers and consumers
Customer support and team behind the product
Nothing to dislike. It is a good product.
Bridge between the parties that couldnt talk to each other. InRiver solved that issue.
Having a PIM is such a huge asset that streamlines how we get and distribute product information in our company AND to customers. I see how Inriver will grow with us.
Although there IS a significant level of customization available, some things that I felt should be easily doable/functional required more workaround. Not every solution was 100% as simple as I'd hoped, but we always figured out an acceptable option.
All of the product information has been in multiple places - so creating a single "source of truth" for everything from basic product data info and features to digital assets, as well as being able to load and manage complete brand catalogs from multiple vendors.
Using the PIM as the "home base" for our e-commerce allows us tremendous flexibility for selling through multiple online channels - whether we need to change web platforms for our own company's e-commerce site at any point and eventually syndicating to 3rd party channels.
inriver is the most flexible platform that allows creating any data model and yet simple, which can support any industry or business, small or large.
Data retrieval is still a slight issue for high demand read back.
Centralize the data in one platform as a source of truth. Easily create, and update data model to support the business need.
Visual good overview and easy to use the different areas of the system.
For example when searching it's very strict in showing error if there happens to be a duplicate.
Making it easy to edit and have an overview of everything in all contries.
I like how easy it is to use and search for different products and export all different levels, the ability to export to excel and reimport saves time as well.
The only thing I dislike is that I have to request field changes to our HQ team, however this may only be an issue within our business.
InRiver has helped us to digitalise our datasheets as well as our processes, it has also allowed us to modernise our website and our product offering online.
What I like the most is that the front end is very smooth and the integration capabilities are easy to use.
The only downside i've noticed with InRiver would be occasional inability to login. It usually clears up after a few minutes but it can be frustrating sometimes.
It allows us to categorize our products perfectly and allow it to sync to our ecommerce solution (Magento). For that it has been really good and we will continue to use it.

As administrator to build a data model to support our eCommerce with complex structure, inriver PIM sure is one of the best flexible platform out there you can find, yet with great performace and SLA, excelect API documentation and online help and yet build on .NET platform.
Data extraction for large number of data is a big challenge. We had to develop our own method of data extraction.
Organazing all data in a central platform was a big issue for us that PIM was the answer to solve it.
