It is easy to use without too many bells and whistles to deal with. It is perfect for the editing I do, which is YouTube vlogging/podcasting.

If someone wants to do complicated video editing with better options for titles, subtitles etc... then iMovie won't cut it.

It is simple and free with my Macbook Air. It fits my basic editing needs.

This is an easy to grasp video software editor for the casual editor who doesn't need the weight of the professional editors. I'd recommend this product to all starting out and learning non-linear editing.

I dislike the simplicity of it in regards to looking for more dynamic video content production. iMovie is inexpensive and very good for the base application, but anything requiring any complexity should look elsewhere.

Needing a quick and efficient Apple-use video editing software. I generally use Premiere Pro for anything with a heavier lift... but iMovie is a great and simple backup software.

iMovie has an easy-to-navigate interface and is quick to learn how to use. I also like all the keyboard shortcuts that you can use. Makes editing very seamless and quick to do.

It does have its limitations. I wish it gave more flexibility in the caption/text options. There should be more fonts and you should be able to movie the text anywhere on the screen.

I can't afford editors like Final Cut Pro, so iMovie is a great option. I like that it can be accessed via desktop, laptop and mobile so no matter where you are, you can edit.

Using iMovie was simple and easy to use for a beginner. I was working in a small business and didn't have alot of resources but iMovie really helped us with our digital content.

iMovie would benefit from having more templates included, especially geared for digital platforms. EG Templates to use across social media, display and Youtube.

iMovie helped us create video content for our online platforms when we didn't have the budget or the resources to hire a professional. It was very cost effective and easy to use.

IT's FREE. You can do almost everything with iMovie assuming you're putting together basic videos. It's easy to learn and I implement it into my workflow at least one per week to cut together raw footage a b-roll.

It could use some updating as far as title transitions and backgrounds.

None that I'm aware of.

Being a youtuber i am getting free plastform for such a great tool

I've been an avid user of iMovie for as long as I remember, as an animation student a lot of my projects have been made on this platform. There are great video editing tools that iMovie offers, and it's all free for Apple users. Some of my favorite tools that other software don't offer are the variety of transitions and themes that they have to create visual effects that give off a clean, professional look to the viewer.

While it works out well for me since I am a Mac user, iMovie is not recommended for anyone who works on a windows operated platform. In that sense, it hs limited integration with other operating software.

A very fluid process of editing videos on my Mac. It ensures users have a smooth experience, and enhances UI/UX during the entire process, which ca be frustrating, especially for beginners.

First, it's a powerful, fully-featured program for free. Drag and drop media, compatible with iPhone media.I use Murf.ai to make voice overs and background music.

LImited, transitions and titles are a bit limiting. The program can become unwieldy if too much memory. Should add the ability to more efficiently save versions of a product.

Mac or PC?. Rapid development tools on the Mac like Keynote, Pages and Numbers to author content.

I need rapid development of short videos for social media and other online uploads. iMovie makes me more production by being straightforward. The videos produced are high quality and attractive.

I use it on my cell phone to create content for social media, and it's very easy to cut, paste, add music and as quickly publish it. Really handy user-friendly.

At least on my cell phone, it only allows to edit in a vertical format. I've managed to get around it, but it could be better.
