It helps to simplified complex process of gathering ideas from multiple users and different departments.
Interface could be less busy, but overall it is good.
We have the needs to be innovative all the time to stay ahead of our competitors. Brainstorming the old method of spreadsheets, text messaging, emails just doesn't do justice any more. We needed something like this to solve the communication problems and unified into one centralized area.
Love the interface, the ease to add ideas and invite other team members to share ideas and so on current ideas. I love the analytics page which shows who has submitted the most ideas, etc. We like to think of it as digital post it notes that can support attachments.
It would be great to have color-coded ideas and to be able to make our ideal workspace more colorful! Maybe color tags would be nice
Haven't had any problems so far! Love it! I did have one team member say that the light box he was typing in crashed and he was unable to submit an idea.
We can create our own optimized innovation flow and collect feedbacks from our company.
Ideanote is the best platform that I ever used so I don't have any dislike.
It saves time streamlines company workflows.
Tracking our innovation impact and collecting ideas for new products.
It allows me to structure my ideas in a way that allows others to collaborate, rate and become involved in the process.
It doesn't seem like the Favicon is replaceable which breaks the whitelabel
Capturing and organizing ideas in a meaningful way. I've always had a lot of ideas. Now I can capture them and receive feedback on them.
Intuitive, fun interface, and an excellent platform to collect and review ideas. This platform takes all of the pain out of getting team responses in this remote world we're stuck in right now.
Since we can't sit in a conference room right now, throwing around sticky notes, and whiteboards are generally out of the question, that's where ideanote comes in to pick up the slack. Whether we need to ask a question of clients or their customers, ideanote gives us the means to ask simple but important questions in a palatable way. Sure we could use TypeForm, or have people fill out long feedback forms, but then we have to wade through all that data.
With ideanote, each step of the brainstorming process is carefully thought out, and can be as access restricted as you need, or completely open. Since you choose who can help you out brainstorming on your ideas, it can also be a fun way to engage with customers.
Ideanote definitely shines bright once you've collected responses, and can see frequently used words across all your missions, a map showing where each response comes from and more.
It's feature rich and definitely worth a look!
To be completely honest, I haven't found much to complain about.
If there were one thing I'd like is some integrations to get quickly notify team members of new ideas. I'd like a way to throw some of the finished ideas into a PM system as an open task or something like that.
The platform is MASSIVE. Take time to go through a complete brainstorming session with a small team to get a feel of it.
With an all remote team, trying to use spreadsheets, or project management software to brainstorm ideas gets to be a chore. They aren't made for it, so they don't do it well. With ideanote, we're able to brainstorm in an environment that's specifically made to promote conversation and get the best ideas to the front of the teams mind.
The ability to centralise and collaborate on ideas for our team. It's also very user friendly and intuitive to get up and running fast.
Nothing really at this stage, as above it super easy to setup and get started
Great way to consolidate your ideas into one place and share with your team
Centralising all ideas in one place instead of getting lost in notes on my phone, emails to myself that get lost in gmail, notes on paper, ideas in head, notes on my chat... I could go on...there is a huge benefit in having it all in one place with a very simple to use program along with the benefits of collaborating and sharing with the team
Ideanote gives us a great place to create, document, share and build upon our ideas *without* cluttering up our main Project and Task Management platform with items that are still at the "possibility" stage. Making the team aware of the platform and asking them to either submit or comment on an idea ('Mission') each week also sends a clear message about our desire to keep innovating — it's a cue to the team about our culture of creativity, improvement and collaboration.
I don't see any disadvantages of using Ideanote. For future improvements, it would be great if a Mission could be easily exported to our Project Management platform (we use https://niftypm.com/) so that it's easy to turn a Mission into a scheduled project within our system.
Give it a trial and involve all of your team in actively using it and evaluating it, being sure to explain the "why" of your organisation's use of Ideanote, so that your staff don't see it as "yet another app" to have to log into and use.
We're getting great ideas from the team which spreads the creative load and gives our team more fulfilment by being listened to and seeing their ideas implemented. Ideanote is helping us be more consistently innovative and to speed our rate of improvement.
We currently use IdeaNote internally for various brainstorming sessions. There are a couple of highlights that make IdeaNote easily one of our favourite tools:
1. IdeaNote has an excellent UI/UX and a very well thought out design. I checked their LinkedIn and I think one of the current co-founders is a designer, perhaps that's why the product is such a real pleasure to use.
2. The solution can be made entirely white-labelled with a CNAME - so it looks impressive and almost like a tool we've built ourselves internally.
3. Our ideas are centralised instead of being scattered in various mediums both online and offline. The benefits of having them all on IdeaNote is that they can be easily collected, prioritised and measured. This results in more real-world actions taken over the various ideas internally.
Overall, I love it, and so is our team. We use it at least once a week and sometimes every other day!
1. No way to customise settings for notifications. More granular notification settings will be much appreciated!
2. Currently there is no feature to "Feature" or "Priority Rank" the winning or chosen ideas, besides having the highest counts of upvotes. More options on idea sorting will be much appreciated.
3. We can't indicate the progress of a Mission or inputting a "decision" status for each. Sometimes it's hard to see what's been decided and actioned on from the whole idea-collection. A simple "decision" status or some forms of the progress status of a Mission will be useful, as well as the ability to highlight the "chosen suggestions" for each mission.
IdeaNote team is very responsive though, from my experience. When I communicated with them about some issues, they have always responded almost instantly and in a very helpful manner. It really showed that they care. Given that impression, I am reasonably confident that they will take these missing feature feedback onboard and continue to improve the product.
You can use IdeaNote for several unexpected use cases, doesn't always have to be old boring business-y use cases. On our side, some fun use cases have been to use it for:
1. Founder Weekly Townhall
2. Onboarding Process Improvement (Collecting ideas from new hires)
3. Interview Process Improvement (Collecting ideas from candidates)
4. Team Vacation Brainstorming
and more.
Think about some creative use of this tool applicable to your organisation and you will get a lot more out of it!
The problems we previously encountered were the low yield of our previous brainstorming process. This is because:
1. When we did multiple concurrent brainstorming, our ideas are not really trackable and often scattered in various mediums. This could be both online (e.g. in Google Docs Meeting minutes, mindmap tools) and offline (e.g. Our notebooks or sticky notes)
2. Since these suggestions are not recorded in an adequate and prompt manner, this results in no immediate actions and a loss of business opportunities.
3. Our employees are discouraged because the ideas they contribute don't seem to result in actions. They feel no recognition to contribute thoughts and thinking outside of the box about solving business challenges.
IdeaNote has solved this very problem for us. With IdeaNote acting as a centralised workspace for ideas, we are able to collect suggestions and engage our team members' creativity, as well as taking actions on their thoughtful contributions and measuring their impact.
The ability to share and expand on our ideas in a powerful format creating a living breathing place to share and expand.
The only downside would be how addictive it becomes not sure we would even consider using anything else.
The back and forth emailing and having to do zooms for group efforts but still not have a place to collect and share information with our group.
