I totally love the PC version of Homestyler! It’s made my life as an interior designer so much easier. I also gave their app a shot, and it felt like I was playing a game while decorating my home—it’s pretty fun!

What I really enjoy are the weekly design challenges. There are so many inspiring designs from other users, and it always gets my creative juices flowing. And can we talk about the price? It’s super cheap compared to other tools like SketchUp and Revit.

Overall, I definitely recommend giving Homestyler a try if you’re into interior design!

Outstanding software to sketch your home
Outstanding software to sketch your house. You can get it exactly as you want it and the tool contains a lot of detailed options and a great library for your furniture, kitchen, floor etc. However, the library needs an update or at least and update for modern European style. The software allows for different export and is easy to use. And finally, it is add-free – how about that.

Since releasing it with paid options
Since releasing it with paid options, the site takes forever to load. We're talking 5-30 mins wait. And it's not really a loading element wait, its a timeslot wait to gain access. Many items are broken and since going with paid options, they are still broken. I've spoken at length with the designers about bugs and glitches both through email and their Facebook portal and even after showing them video screen capture proof that those items are broken. They assure me they will be fixed, yet months later now, they are still broken. Kitchen wall cabinets that won't stay on the wall. After selecting the style, and height of one cabinet, we duplicate it for more, but the duplicate falls to the floor and if we have base cabinets, the wall cabinets are technically inside or overlapped with the base cabinets. Standard base cabinets are 36" tall, that is a universal standard yet their bases are between 30" and 35" in height. Placing a sink in a sink cabinet puts it on top of the cabinet and not inside. Reducing the max height so it shows installed in ends up falling to the floor. How asinine is that. NOT to forget to mention other objects which are ridiculous in default size either too small or too big. Or items whose height are technically on the ceiling when they should be a set height. And can we talk about the asinine model library which most of it are paid options now. They expect us to pay 99¢ or more to unlock ONE cabinet, and there is no logical sort order. We have to slowly scroll through practically identical ones to find one we want. Then we have the items like cars with the wrong sizes. The last time I looked out the window, a Hummer SUV was longer than 10' and certainly wider than 5'. Or how about the unattached walls in 3D mode. If we draw a box for the outside walls, then add individual walls inside the box to make rooms, those added walls in 3D mode are unattached and when viewed in 3D mode we can see through to the outside even though they are inside. If we attach them by double clicking, if there is a window or door on that wall it suddenly disappears and more weird glitches like that. They didn't bother fixing all the glitches, then added useless paid model options and expect us to pay for it in it's broken state with the ridiculous amount they think they can charge for a broken thing... Get a clue people!!!

Version 5 overtakes version 4

***Update for version 5.0*** It's even worse now with version 5.0. Any previous models we worked on are now automatically upgraded to the version 5 standard. If we use their option to revert back to the previous version 4, the models converted to 5.0 don't show up in version 4.

The big glitch in version 5.0 is wall dimensions in metric are in millimeters and in imperial in inches. Who designs a house using millimeters and inches only? We'd use meters, feet and yards of course. But version 5.0 ONLY uses millimeters or inches.

There is still no smart sort order for their furniture library and there are too many practically identical paid furniture pieces where the smallest of detail got changed like knobs, trim and colour and finishes.

Plus the elements we saved to our library can instantly change to a paid version, or removed entirely without warning.

The more they change it, the worse it gets.

Subscription…
Unfortunatley this company states they have a Mysubscription web page. This is not the case and so if you sign up for the free trail and provide the REQUIRED card details you are then charged. No invoice is sent and it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the subscription.
