Real-time planning
The speed and usability of the system is second to none. The system is really easy to use at all levels. Our users start at Accountants and go all the way up to the CFO. Limelight has also drastically cut down our closing time as well (30%).
There not much about Limelight you can dislike. This product has improved our financial reporting process tenfold.
Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting and Closing.
It is very easy to work with Limelight to request reports for our month end financial reporting as they fully understand what we are trying to do as they have professional accountants on board. Turnaround time for new requests is quick and reliable. They are always accessible.
Reports run very quickly compared to our accounting software. Limelight gives us the flexibility to review, compare our data in whatever format we wish.
We have not had any issues with Limelight.
We use Limelight to prepare our Quarterly and Annual reporting. Reports run quickly and in the format we want/need as opposed to trying work with "canned" reports from our accounting package.
Will look at using for Budgeting in the future.

To get the most out of your limelight experience some IT support or background is helpful. There are not a lot of help documents or tutorials to show you how to do things.
We have been able to dramatically reduce the time needed to consolidate budget and forecast data. This has allowed us to quickly make decisions and implement those decisions across our organization. With everyone working remotely the familiar web based interface has allowed our end users to adopt Limelight quickly.
Between the staff support Limelight offers and the ability to eliminate the complications that come with attempting to perform financial tasks with countless Excel sheets, Limelight has brought tremendous value to our company's operations.
While many key functionalities of Excel are found within Limelight making it an easy transition for users, there are a few features missing that would make the software even more powerful than it already is.
With Limelight, we are reducing manual creation of reports with data dumps, decreasing the time to perform tasks, improving the accuracy of our information and creating an environment for users to analyze the data instead of gathering it.
Limelight associates are extremely knowledgeable and helpful from the research phase to implementation and continued support after.
There are some software limitations depending on what you wish to do.
Limelight has helped our budgeting system be in real-time and allow associates to see all their event transactions without having to ask the accounting department. The two-step authentication process has allowed all associates to access their budgets from anywhere, not just in our headquarter office.
Amazing software! I love it is very easy to use, administration and management becomes a more comfortable process. It has a high quality technical support and high responsiveness. The best tool is the ability to generate the best reports.
It has many really good things, there is nothing I don't like, it offers the best tools and the reason you are looking for it.

The interface allows you to taste and make the best use and get the most out of it, generating reports is an optimal and really efficient process, it is the best help you can have.
The workforce planning tool has been the biggest improvement to our processes, providing insights and projection accuracy that we didn't have previously. We're able to get both employee counts and paid time historically as well as projected values through our projection period.
While the workforce planning module has been the most useful tool to us, it's also been the most challenging to set up and run. This was a new process for us, and we have 35+ end-users in limelight. Most of our challenges have been creating an environment with intentionally limited input options so users don't "break" the calcs. Limelight's support team has been very responsive, even after go-live implementation, in helping solve our data input and template challenges.
One other item that has been a blessing and a challenge is the report books function. While this has been improving even in the first 6 months since implementation, the process for setting up a report book, identifying errors when the book fails, and outputs to excel are still a little challenging, and not as user friendly as much as the rest of the system. This is an area where I can see opportunities for big future improvements.
Take the time to really understand your needs with specific requirements of inputs and outputs. Understand your user community and their abilities. Don't short change the design and build time - more testing time equals less problems after go-live.
As our single largest expense item, workforce planning is critical. Limelight has helped us gain more accurate projection capabilities into our workforce, utilizing employee-specific data, linked with actual payroll data (from ADP) and the ability to see historical paid hours and project specific hours by employee into the future. Often our prior projections involved carrying forward current month actuals, maybe including new hires we knew about, but often inaccurate. Now we have projection employee counts, accurate paid time (even during holidays and breaks) for nearly 2,000 employees.

Reporting efficiency has been a top priority and Limelight has delivered.
Limelight has a wonderful staff who dedicates their time and efforts to their customers. Our account manager has been extremely helpful and responsive. Our company has a unique structure but we were able to work with Limelight to customize to our needs and give us what we were looking for. We also appreciate their prompt responsiveness and willingness to problem solve with us and answer our questions.
While the product is innovative and the staff is great, the interface itself is a bit rough. It has an Excel feel to it but the functionality and the ease of use is not quite equivalent to Excel.
Our company has multiple entities and many employees in several departments. My main role is to maintain the company-wide budget and projections. We had been using another platform to track historical data. But for projections and budget purposes, I had been using an Excel file with about 1,000 rows and 30 columns. Limelight helped minimize the headache of managing Excel by providing solutions and ideas to make budgeting and forecasting easier and more efficient to update and analyze.

Customer service and care. All implementations come with challenges, staffing changes, scope hiccups, etc. The client team at LL were proactive, engaged with our project manager what felt like daily, and the project felt on track the entire time. There were challenges but no surprises, and all the challenges came with solutions. Team was great, solution was great, very happy with the relationship thus far.
Every tech company on the planet right now is dealing with churn and staffing challenges; our project had a bit of that initially, but LL were quick to do knowledge transfer and make the transitions pretty seamless.
As a ridiculously rapidly growing organization, we've got some pretty big challenges with robust enough reporting to make decisions quickly. We've had 5x growth over the past 3 years, and we've gotten too big to manage without good reporting. Speed and quality of managerial decision making is our challenge, good reporting and data are the solutions we're pursuing. We just went live last week, so early on the impact assessment, but the budget GENERATION process is being called "a completely different ballpark" from the solution we were using previously.
