It's an open source tools and I don't need to install anything.

Just Signin and use it. Very simple to use chat room and it'd available in all languages.

Getting Delay in message delivery and sometimes notifications not pop up in time.

Multiple chat in one web is more beneficial while using this. This tools solved my all problem of chat with clients and it is available in all languages which I like most.

Application is available cross platform.

UI is bit confusing and the way messages are marked as read is little hard to understand.

It's really hard to follow the conversation there with the current setup

What I like best about Gitter is its focus on community. It is easy to create and join channels, and there are many features that make it easy to collaborate and share information. For example, Gitter supports threaded conversations, code blocks, and file attachments.

-The search function is not very good. It can be difficult to find old messages or conversations.

-The mobile app is not as feature-rich as the web app.

-The notifications can be a bit overwhelming.

-There is no way to mute individual users.

-The moderation tools are not very robust.

Gitter is solving the problem of communication and collaboration for developers and other professionals. It provides a platform where people can connect with each other, share information, and collaborate on projects.

For our project, Gitter was one of the apps we were using for Instant messaging using authentication from Github. For our use case, we wanted to create multiple chat rooms and had a budget constraint from the client side. Hence, Gitter matched our business requirements in all criteria.

As per our business requirements, we were using web authentication and MFA. Gitter supports Mac and Android, but sometimes the portal has login issues for 3rd party apps during authentication. It results in crashing the apps instantly.

We had integrated our 3rd party application with Heroku and used Jenkins for app testing. Using Gitter, our business interactions became more flexible, which helped us introduce one more layer of security to our app. To Authenticate the person performing validations on our app, we used Gitter, which has increased our business interactions with our clients. Its platform supportability for Both mobile and web helped us immensely in instant messaging, which saved much of our capacity.

I love gitter because, I don't need to install anything. Just sign in and huddle. Also it's open source so we get hell lot of perspectives and features. It also shows who has seen the message.

Even though itsvery attractive and easy to use, when it comes to adminstration and business Gitter is not preferred. Business needs stable product support, that's hard to achieve in open source product.

We can create private & public communities and manage complete history. It also supports great deal of Integrations to different scms and observability tools. Last but not least, it's support in different platforms as well as browser.

Easiness to connect with community for any open source library or tool

message search option is not that user friendly

The problem of connecting contributors and users of open source tools. Now we can have a single place to communicate with the community for different tools.

You can read any discussion without authorization on Gitter.

You do not need to create a separate profile on Gitter - just authorize with Github.

I do not experience any downsides using Gitter so far.

If you are working with GitHub Gitter makes it easy to get any help with Github projects. Also, Gitter will help your team to stay organized and connected to communities all over the world.

Free and open source public software with unlimited chat support. It can add unlimited users in any of the group chat. The best thing is that we can read any group chat without even joining that group.

Markdown feature is integrated on the chat typing area that makes it very easy to differentiate code and normal chat.

Realtime notification on gitter.im website and Very easy to use software

I am using gitter desktop app and it is quite slow and as well as in gitter desktop app, while searching someone in "view all people" in group chat, it doesn't find that person even if that person is added in the chat room

Gitter mobile app is not providing push notifications even if i allow all the notification permission and other notification setting. I have reported that but nothing happened

If any one want an open source and easy to use chat support, gitter is a good option for that. Its not only great software for public communities but as well as private also.

I can read chat and issues of almost all famous and official sites like angular, bootstrap and as well as github also. As we can directly report issues and question our queries in gitter instead of officially raising on github which can help in maintaing privacy and proper support

What I love is that it allows me to be in touch with my development team in real time. Also like to be multiplatform. I like it to be free, that allows those who are beginning in the world of programming to develop their project with more support without having to pay.

What I do not like is that if I do not pay for privacy, everyone can see the public conversations. The privacy of the conversations is very important since the theft of information is latent.

My recommendation is to use it and not be disappointed, it is an excellent tool to stay connected with your development team. I highly recommend it, there is nothing better than GITTER to be in line with any problem that occurs during the development of the software, they will not be sorry.

Deliveries to our customers are much faster than before because the solution to the problems that arise is resolved quickly thanks to GITTER.
