I'm a new user, so my opinion will have to be modified after a few months, but for me, it worked from day one. Working with someone anonymous is very engaging. I've only used 50 minute sessions which go by in a flash.

I love using the focusmate app. The app helps me cut off distraction and focus on the task at hand . I love the accountability. The app is very user friendly. It would be nice to know more about the person we are matched with . For example the country they are from and what they do for a living .

I am a PhD student rotting away, aka writing my dissertation. I moved away from campus once I was done with my residential requirements, so working and writing with this endless sense of isolation has been extremely difficult. I recently learned that working with human beings works well for me (through a short dissertation boot camp); this website helps me to keep that focused writing going. The part I love about it the most is that everyone works on different things, so it makes me feel like I'm not stuck in a hellhole called academia. Thank you so much!

This platform is designed for highly distracted people who want a calm working environment.
You don't need to have ADHD to appreciate the benefits of this productivity, either. It's been a moment of joy to meet other people from all over the world who can support you in a moment.

I got to know about Focusmate through web and by far it is the best productive site I have ever used. It makes me feel encouraged and I use it for 7hr+ each day. If you're someone who finds it difficult to study/work alone, Focusmate is the place to get started. It will help you go through even if it feels difficult. Genuinely a good site. Before I used to find it hard to even sit for 5 mins now I can do my work for hours without feeling tired or alone. So if you're looking for getting that thing done which you have always dreaded then Focusmate is the best place.

Focusmate has changed my life. For anyone who would benefit from having more structured focus in their life, I highly highly recommend testing it.

There are three aspects that I love about the platform:

1. Beautifully simple core idea
Create a structure enabling a co-support mechanism which is really engaging and easy.

2. Application of that idea is excellent!
This is both in terms of the technology and it's also clear to me the team really care.

They've made it affordable for wherever you are in the world.

Great platform.

Never loved the library (too much noise, no space, can't just make yourself a coffee, can't use the restroom without worrying that someone will steal your laptop, etc.) and this is just the perfect solution!!!!

Only suggestion: I wonder if charging $1 for a missed session would help deter people from leaving early or not showing up.

Otherwise, really great!
