Great free resource for small designs
Very pleased with the free online app. I only needed to workout the layout of one room; and while there are many things I wished for, I cannot complain as I was able to do it online for free.

Has usual array of glitches and irritations but far fewer than others I have tried in the past.

Genuinely shocked how good this is for a free product (that doesn't trick you to into paying for premium)
I had previously used Floorplanner to design both floors of my house that needed a complete renovation, with all interior walls being knocked down and relocated. I was able to simply print out the design and give them to my builders to work from directly. Pretty incredible to be able to do this with a free software. I paid for a couple of high quality renders to get a feel for walking around my house in 3D to make sure I was happy with the design.

I've recently been designing my garden and I didn't even consider Floorplanner in my head it was just for interior design. I looked on Google and found Planner5D. Great (I thought). Turns out almost all their items are locked in the free version. Okay, I'll spend €20 for a month of premium. Turns out they have about 5 different border plants/flowers to choose from, which all look a different shade of awful. Both the 2D and 3D views look terrible as well and things like paths (which were impossible to make into a smooth curve in the first place) regularly glitch when you change to 3D view. Also, on the €20/month premium plan, you only get 5 renders of *still images*. You have to fork out €50/month if you want to get a 3D render that you can walk around in, which costs about €5 on Floorplanner.

Anyway, out of desparation I checked back with Floorplanner because it had been so helpful with designing my interior. Well it turns out they have literally about 10x as many plants, flowers and trees as Planner5D. As well as greenhouses, pagodas, trellises and hottubs (none of which Planner5D has). You can also make a nice, smooth path so much more easily.

I don't mean to just crap all over Planner5D with this review, I'm sure it has its uses. But it baffles me that it is more popular than Floorplanner. When in reality the latter is 1/10 the price (for a render and completely free otherwise) and a much easier product to use with 10x the variation of items.

It is so rare nowadays that the "free" version of a product is anything other than bait to get you to pay for premium. But Floorplanner is completely useable unless you want high quality renders. It may not be perfect, for for a genuinely free product it is unbelievably good.

Idk who the hell made this product but they did a damn good job. Bravo.

Outstanding homeplanner with great support
I'm baffled to find so few reviews of Floorplanner. And some negative too! I've been using it for two years now and it's simply amazing, certainly for the pricepoint.

Also, their support is outstanding and very quick to reply.

I have absolutely no qualms about highly recommending Floorplanner to everyone thinking about remodelling or building their home.

Best room planner I have encountered so far
After some very frunstrating experiences with other similar products I tried floorplanner for 5$ a month to plan the rooms in my new house and here I finally found all the functionality I was looking for. Yeah the credits model is bs but, fairly common and besides the 5 bucks a month I didn't have to spend any more money for my use case.
Also, cancellation is as easy as pressing one button, you still keep all your projects as a basic member and if you want to work on them later on you can upgrade your account again and off you go.

I love the app

PROS: I like how wall creation is made easy. You can create walls of the exact size. The same goes for doors and windows. There are data and options available for approach, displacement, and distance. The app is very comprehensive even online. Floorplanner makes everything you do in it look professional.

CONS: One problem I have is that there is a lack of customizability when it comes to furniture like tables and chairs. You can't scale them. Might as well use paint or something. This has caused many confusions and I would like for the developers to fix this. The catalog is very limited as of today. I hope this will be improved.

" Useful for planning diagrams."
What do you like best about Floorplanner?

What I liked most was the ease of creating walls of the correct size, placing windows and doors and making measurements. The displacement also becomes very easy, including the approach and distance. It is an online tool that works very fast and has many options. I always need a tool like this to immerse myself in a professional program.

What do you dislike about Floorplanner?

You can not customize the size / measurements of tables / chairs, etc. You may also be using a Word document because you can adjust as many tables as you want, nothing is scaled. I can not tell you how many arguments and confusion we had between our operations team and our planners because of these floor plans. I would like to be able to import furniture and objects to add to the plans instead of having to choose from their limited catalog.

Recommendations to others considering Floorplanner:

I like how easy it is to use it. You can save a lot of money on basic first design reviews. There is little or no training required. There is a wide variety of furniture options. The color options are broad.

What problems is Floorplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use this tool in the office to start the sketches of the proposed projects, to generalize a clear idea of the location of the furniture and the interior spaces. This software allows customers to expand their space with our products and visualize how they will look. This is an incredible tool that allows them to share on social networks, which helps us to give free publicity, especially because none of our competitors are using tools like this.

Awesome platform!

PROS: It is an awesome tool to create a quick design. It makes everything feel and work easy. It is pretty rich in features considering its simple drag-and-drop interface. What's more, is that its Chrome and iPad apps are pretty useful as well. You can navigate to wherever you want to go in the platform conveniently.

CONS: There are some new features that can be improved. I'm not going to be harsh on them as these are actually new. The new dashboard can still be made better. It's clunky at times.

"Great tool for a quick design"
What do you like best about Floorplanner?

FloorPlanner is a great tool for quick, easy designs with lots of features. It's apps in Google Chrome and iPad are a great addition to the webtool. The drag and drop function in the design view it's amazing, the navigation between design features, floors, and view options are a big plus to this tool.

What do you dislike about Floorplanner?

New features, like the new dashboard need more attention, it's still very buggy and doesn't quite work all the time.

What problems is Floorplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not being a design company, this tool helped us solve some design and organization problems. Being able to use the tool ourselves and not having to pay extra was a big benefit.

Exporting needs work
Working in Floorplanner itself is alright. They lack fixtures like built-ins, but maybe these are coming. However, I'm disappointed in the how the Floorplanner exports vector files. First, it only exports DXF files that require conversion if you're not using AutoCAD. Second, the files are a mess. All shapes are broken apart into individual lines. All the lines are straight, so bezier curves are lost. Even the text labels are converted to a mass of little lines. The furniture is just not exported at all. I wish I had used a more robust building tool in hindsight.
