I like how every information can be made into a template to ensure fast and quick evaluation of patients by the healthcare provider. I am already an advanced user of DocuTap now that I have used it for more than 2 years. It is also cool how comprehensive it is when it provides templates for regular Chief Complaints we see in the urgent care. In addition, it is a handy tool when dealing with possible drug interactions or drug allergies when prescribing medication for the patients.
I dont like how this software sometimes freezes or lags due to the network error. I also don't like how it sometimes does not provide templates for some chief complaints.
I would advice using this software in an Urgent Care Setting. It provides efficient and fast patient care delivery since the urgent care has a spontaneous and inconsistent flow. Sometimes it can be slow and at other times you are just hit with a wave of patients coming in for a sore throat or UTI.
I am learning how to manage my time more efficiently when seeing patients and documenting history of present illnesses. I am also learning about ICD-10 and billing. Managing on coding patient visits.
This is a basic but easy to use EMR. It's hardly the most popular and doesn't have a lot of fancy functions but gets the job done. Patient charts are formatted well and easy to read.
It's a pain to switch back and forth between visit dates and it doesn't always give a good summary of the visit depending what was charted. It could certainly be streamlined and less clicking back and forth. Also, scanned documents don't always save and it's prone to glitches and outages.
Easy to chart and use
It's fairly easy for new employees to learn and works well for an urgent care setting.
- Prescriptions are easy to manage and eSubmit
- Assessment details are outlined in "chartlets" which makes sure to cover all possible findings
- Easy to navigate and flow through care from start to finish
- Abnormal findings are highlighted in red to bring attention to them
- The prescription manager has pre-programmed order sets/suggestions for standard of care, which are helpful when making treatment decisions
- The visual representations of the anatomy are helpful when describing location of exam findings
- Multiple clicks/steps for labs, imaging etc. that may lead to confusion as to what has been performed
- Sometimes easy to mistake icons for each other; when learning the system can take some time to learn which to click on to open chart vs. get demographic information, etc.
- As with any EHR, there is an element of double-documenting (having multiple places to chart the same finding)
- Printing lab requisitions takes some patience, but once you know the system it is not a problem
It's a great system!
Benefits include thorough and conscientious documentation, ability to streamline to the problem at hand; ability to see all patients in-center at a glance and prioritize.
Also can link in to other centers to see their patient load, etc. at a glance remotely from where you are. That way you can get a sense of resources needed overall and prioritize where they are sent.
Having patients complete their registration on iPad streamlines the process on arrival for care
I thoroughly enjoy the high adaptability of the software. It's fairly easy to navigate and when doing exams, it's possible to add options in a manner that is related to the exam (Normal/Abnormal, Left/Right/Both, etc). I also enjoy that you can pull previous exams for simple follow up visits with the ability to also alter anything that may have changed. This can be a real time saver
It basically works as a remote desktop so it can be difficult working with my home computer and connecting to printers through the software with out having hardwire into the devices. Also, depending on the internet connection, it can wreak a bit of havoc on your ability to maintain a connection creating lag and interruption in use. It almost never fails that this happens when you are incredibly busy and need to ensure that you're getting from one patient to the other quickly without forgetting your previous exam. I would make the recommendation to the engineers to allow the software to continue to work offline from the citrix receiver and update online when the connection is re-established.
This is a decent EMR, however, where I live, most healthcare providers and institutions are moving to Epic and so inter-organizational communication should be considered when deciding on which program to use.
This software is great for using to chart patients, creating their administrative profile as well as documenting PMH, Assessments, Plans, and easily e-scribing.
Easy to search for a patient and to scan documents
It constantly freezes and hard it to navigate
None
Keeping patient information organized
the EMR is relatively easy to use, but there is very little customization. When you ask, the comment is generally, "we will put it on the list", but you rarely see it come to fruition. Customer support is outstanding. I really like the Teleradiology group. But it takes too many steps for the billing piece
It can be restrictive with some of the drop downs, and when we make suggestions for improvements, developers (who don't work in the clinic) say it isn't necessary, or put it on a list of things "to do", which will take years.
Itgood documentation.
The documentation is broken down by tabs to make it fairly simple to know where and how to document.
This software has come a long way but still leaves much to be desired.
Medical record documentation, the only benefit is it’s electronic versus paper.
Nothing this is the worst EMR software so manny issues with it even after update
Nothing sorry not sorry docutap would crash a lot had to go back to old school writing things down
No don’t use it it’s so bad
Nothing company switched
Not user friendly at all! It is made for iPad..
Everything is hard to figure out. Instant message is everything but. The labs don't always save when ordering. You can't move between screens without everything resstting
Make sure everyone has a ipad
Not very user friendly
