"Fantastic embedded dashboard and reporting software"

What do you like best?

This tool was designed to be embedded. It fit well into our existing architecture and offered a quick path for use to offer advanced reporting and dashboard functionality. Working with the Exago team has been great. They are very responsive and helpful in guiding the implementation and resolving issues.

What do you dislike?

Error reporting when working through setup can be difficult.

We were able to offer data visualizations and advanced reporting tools that we would otherwise not have been able to provide our end customers.

"A Brilliant Product And Excellent Customer Support"

What do you like best?

I have been much impressed by both the business and tech support provided by Exago. They are not just very knowledgeable about their platform, they are also a friendly bunch who take the time to understand the nature of your issues.

They are very keen to understand how their platform is used within our product and how they can improve matters to make the integration easier.

What do you dislike?

Not exactly a dislike but the .NET API documentation could do with some more usage scenarios. All the bits and bobs are there but some help with getting them together for advanced use cases would be great. I guess this is not easy due to the different needs of the client environments.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Exago is used for the ad hoc reporting capability within our product. It will allow our customers to create business insights into their operations.

"Comprehensive Business Intelligence"

What do you like best?

We've been using Exago for a little over 5 years embedded in our software application. The solution allow us and our customers to build intelligence that helps to understand as well as drive business objectives. User interface is easy to use which helps in creating content very quickly. Absolutely love the real-time data analytics interactive dashboards that can be created as well as the standard reporting. User interface can be picked up quickly which is a real treat. Their website has a ton of training materials including how to videos, podcasts, etc... and the support team has been phenomenal. I'd highly recommend this solution to others.

What do you dislike?

I've had a great experience this Exago, so really not a negative that I can think of at this time. I do recommend that users review the Exago website for training videos to understand the types of information and reports you can generate with this solution.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Helping business owners and department managers/executives review their company operations and profitability. We use Exago to show items such as active/closed projects, remaining hours on projects, projects over budgets, trending reporting, financial status of a business with invoicing and payments received and revenue by accounts. We also do aging reports and activity reports with the solution.

"Powerful Integration with SaaS platforms"

What do you like best?

Our SaaS platform has over 400 built-in reports but customers were asking for the ability to create their own reports. We integrated Exam into our platform so that admins click once to open a new tab in their browser, and all the features of Exago are immediately available to them, using the filtered data sources that we built. The tool is incredibly powerful, including Express Reports, Advanced Reports, Crosstabs, Dashboards, charts with drill-down, and Chained reports. Exago support has been responsive and their documentation and videos are excellent.

What do you dislike?

There are no real dislikes. This is a complex and powerful product, the equal of any of the more well-known Business Intelligence products out there. It has been overwhelming for some of our non-technical users.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We carefully evaluated Business Objects, YellowFin, Izenda, SiSense, and Tableau before picking Exago. These are all great Business Intelligence products for large corporations. But if you want to integrate Ad Hoc Reporting into a SaaS product, we found Exago to be the best option. And we didn't have to compromise in terms of features; it has all the important capabilities of the other products.

We are giving our customers the ability to create their own reports, using flattened and sanitized data. This gives our product a powerful feature when we are compared to others in our space.

"Great product with great training from Nick Cortina"

What do you like best?

After reviewing many reporting solutions we found Exago to be the closest match to our requirements. While the many of the others had great modelling and the outputs looked great in the demos the control that the end user actually had from a presentation perspective was quite limited. Ease of use vs functional capability. I think Exago gets the mix just right and even the Express View reports can be surprisingly useful. The recent dashboard update is a great enhancement too.

Exago very flexible from a date model perspective and has certainly simplified the way that we present information to our users, we did have some teething problems but these have been overcome. It has been relatively quick to implement and the extensiblity through server events is really useful too.

It has certainly gone a long way towards solving the usability issues and the level of technical knowledge required to build reports in our previous solution. Looking forward to working with Exago for many years to come.

Nick Cortina deserves a special mention, the training sessions were excellent, very grateful for all the effort that you put in.

What do you dislike?

The Advanced report designer looks a little outdated now compared to the look and feel of the Express View. I do wish that the whole of the data model could be presented in the Advanced report designer while you're building the reports as it is with Express View without the need to manually add each part in, this would make the report design experience much simpler, particularly where categories are linked and you need to add them in sequentially. Export to PowerPoint would make a lot of our customers happy.

Ease of use when designing a report based on a pretty complicated data mode. The report designer is intended to be used by the business users of our application not reporting specialists from the IT team. We feel that things are heading in the right direction and that a lot of the challenges before are now resolved.

"Best BI experience I've had, superb company to deal with."

What do you like best?

The feature rich reporting, seamless integration, excellent knowledge base and top class customer support. There is a really nice vibe from this company which makes you want to be part of their experience. What I really like is the combination of great people, product and energy.

What do you dislike?

Not very much, if anything the main problem is keeping up with the releases. It's hard to fit in an upgrade into our regular release pattern.

absolutely worthy of consideration. wonderful understanding of what SSAS is and how to build a SSAS product.
