eSign Genie is a great resource for sending initial paperwork to my mental health clients. I was looking for something affordable, flexible, HIPPA secure, and easy to use. Since I do all of the administration for my practice by myself and do not use a Practice Management System (like TheraNest or Simple Practice), I was looking for an easy add-on document signing program. I like that this system does not require my clients to download any programs or create any accounts in order to sign the paperwork. Making templates did not take long either.
Making templates was a little bit harder than needed. Mostly because you had to have your original file in the perfect formatting in order to add in the text boxes, check boxes, and signature boxes. I had to start over several times when I realized that I would need to tweak something in my original file in order to fit the formatting in the system.
I am able to send documents to my clients securely, easily, and with minimal work on their part.
Within a few minutes of signing up and reading a short tutorial I was up and running. I like the fact that this is platform independent; you can send documents in bulk; it's super easy to make conditional fields; it's easy to see who has not signed and send them reminders; there is a pay-as-you-go plan; customer service is wonderful and responsive; and it's easy to use advanced features.
The interface has improved greatly but is not as intuitive as some other services.

There are so many benefits to being able to sign documents virtually, especially during telehealth sessions during COVID. Sometimes though, someone might not have an e-mail address, so it's hard to get some signatures.

When we were starting up, we needed to manage our costs and it's real easy monthly services to drain our funds. We loved the pay as you go pricing structure because it allowed us to control our spending during the first phase of start-up.
I like that you are able to upload a file and insert the field very easily. There are a lot of fields that can be used and are very helpful. It's also nice that you are able to both email and text the document to the recipient so they are able to respond at their convenience. Being able to get approvals couldn't be easier on me or my client.

This program does exactly what it describes. I am able to send a file to a client and get their electronic approval with very little effort. It's easy for me to use and easy for the client to use. Never had a problem with getting approvals using this program. It's easy to pay as you go and very affordable. Compares to all the other expensive products out there without all the subscription and hassles. Very happy and have been using over a year.

PROS: First of all, I now have electronic documents and don’t have to store hard copies or worry about them getting lost. Clients say it is very easy.
CONS: No issues with the clients side, that work flawlessly. On my side, just that it is new to me and I’m not one to read instructions and a computer guy. But Setup was very simple after watching a few videos. Worked with customer service on a few questions I have and very good.
