Easy to use, natural and intuitive setup. Can have multiple patients open in multiple tabs. Completely cloud based. Video visits are built in with Zoom. Can have three windows open on the same screen. Training staff on new system was relatively easy. Frequent updates with useful new features.
Some things are not personalizable, such as vaccine and health maintenance reminders for staff. Could have used a full time go-to person for training, they were very helpful, but the set up is more with their training videos/university.
We were able to eliminate a third party video platform and start visits with Zoom directly from Elation's schedule. Good interface with Practice Suite and we were able to get our doctor to bill electronically finally ;)
Elation has provided my practice not only with a robust , yet simple doctor friendly electronic medical records, where documentation and sophisticated searching and tagging is possible, but an excellent platform to automate my practice and communicate with my patients bar none. Excellent customer service, with immediate attention when urgent matters w/ platform arise. Visually enticing and easy going.
would like to see more e-mail blasts included within its powerful platform
If you are a Direct Care doctor, Elation is an excellent choice for automating your office, communicating with patients and if you choose additional options (scheduling, etc.), this can certainly help w/ time management and patient management. If you are a traditional insurance-billing doc, excellent MU, reminders for health maintenance and robust billing parameters.
Able to communicate w patients via confidential portal that is easy to use for both patients and physicians. Able to close the portal for communications when I am busy on a weekend, therefore avoiding correspondence I woud not be able to return when I am unavailable. Searching for old data, similar to google search , has made my life easier and time-manage better!
I love the ElationHealth capabilities to reach out directly to my doctor with any questions about my health in a safe & private manner. It is easy to see the chain of correspondence with my doctor on all previous inquiries as well.
Sometimes I will accidentally hit the back button or refresh button on my browser in the middle of writing correspondences and my note will get deleted.
ElationHealth allows me to have a direct line of communication with my primary care doctor. He is able to respond in a quick manner and give me the guidance I need in real time. It's been a lot of health as I navigate the world of COVID.
I love how easy it is to send Lab Orders, Referrals, faxes - super easy
cannot "edit" trending lab values once you hit save.. that is frustrating.. If you're in the fax inbox and need to go to the home page (say to check the schedule) it kicks you out of the fax and goes home rather than opening another window.. I've been knee deep in organizing faxed files and lost everything just by checking in a patient.
easy to use, straight forward, "talks" to labcorp, quest diagnostics for easy integration. love how much paper we are saving by being able to send everything electronically. I just wish there were more "reports" options for when I am uploading documents.. so many more fields to healthcare then just sleep, Gastroenterology, physical therapy, ect....

It's easy to use and straightforward. The support team has been pleasant to work with.
A new window opens with every chart that's opened or when accessing settings, rather than re-routing to that section of the EMR.

I like that we can create letters that we frequently use to send to patients and the ability to send quick messages to our clinicians. I like that our clinicians can add notes to the rx orders they send in.
Sometimes messages from patients are missed because they may tag staff or doctor but not both, which can cause some confusion. We have to be extra diligent to pass on patient letters to the doctor.
Support is helpful when we do experience any issues and they get back to us in a timely manner. We are able to communicate clearly with our pharmacy whether our patients need veggie capsules or other special considerations.
I don't care for this EMR. Some of the functionality is easy to use but a lot of it is very time consuming and requires too many clicks. For example, booking a patient appointment and visually seeing the calendar are not easy. It opens to the days date rather then the selected apt date. In addition, seeing a week at a time is not clear.
Almost everything but the customer service and set up is exceptionally bad. Expect to get videos trainings for everything and then the integration won't work. We have local hospitals systems and the faxes for orders are all wrong. Plan to enter every fax and location manually. All orders take multiple steps. It such a pain to use.
From the view point of someone with a small practice, I would use a different EMR.
None so far. Most things, I have to figure out how to fix it myself. I really do not recommend this EMR.

Elation makes me Elated! Really. I ENJOY using it. How often do you enjoy using an EMR? It's so simple. Everything you need is right there on a single page. No click click clicking. It's customizable to how you want. You can do everything you want. When I started, an implementation specialist helped me set everything up and learn everything. It was so easy!
There is a bit of room for improvement - I wish intake forms were more customizable/robust, with better consent forms. The online booking could be a little more robust as well. Customer support is via the app or email, and can be sometimes a little slow to respond. I do wish there was a phone number to call to speak to someone. I also wish it integrated with Office Ally for billing, which is the most affordable billing solution for those of us who only bill a couple of insurances.
