This is a great time saver!
In comparison to other prototyping tools such as proto.io, inVision, Macaw, and so on, draftium sets itself apart due to its focus on websites, as well as its large number of professionally designed templates.
If you've done wireframing before or understand the need for it, you know how difficult it can be. Without it, you can easily become caught in a client feedback process that is full of distraction around detail, missing the bigger picture in what they need to achieve.
Using Draftium, you can quickly layout sections on a page full of placeholder content and refine this by quickly adjusting the content. It's much faster than trying to work with a WordPress theme (header and footer), then using a different solution (Beaver Builder, Elementor, Gutenberg) to create sections on the page. In this regard, Draftium helps users by providing prefabricated sections (like Beaver Builder and Elementor), but with true speed of creation.
Using the navigation feature is simple and fast and allows for dropdown sub-navigation (which so many tools lack). As a true wireframing tool, Draftium enables you to do everything in black and white, so you are less likely to get distracted.
It's simple to publish, it's quick, and feedback features are powerful and yet straightforward. Furthermore, you can set up your prototypes to be viewed under your own domain via a subdomain (requires setting up a CNAME). That's awesome!!!
As well as being responsive and quick, the support has been excellent.
Overall, I love Draftium, but I hope to see a few things added overtime to make it even better. This shouldn't detract from the quality of what already exists
♥ An ability to request content from clients, that has a process in place to approve it, would be awesome.
♥ Enabling the ability to Export to HTML
♥ Ability to add sub-users to account, enable team management and assign different roles, responsibilities, and privileges. That is a big limitation at present.
♥ The ability to create sitemaps would be the icing on the cake
If you are an agency, this is a fast and easy way to build a mock-up site to show your clients. If you build sites for your clients and it may take you days to prepare a mock-up (wireframe) site and then waiting for our client to approve your design takes forever. This app allows you to create the draft site in minutes and on top of that allows your clients to annotate where they want the change to take place. The collaboration features are awesome. Highly recommended.
I have tried to do my wireframing in the past and it has never been an easy task. I can't seem to get it right. I have had many friends that have been frustrated trying to do their wireframing as well. I decided to give Draftium a try and I am so glad I did! This tool makes wireframing so much easier, and the user interface is so easy to use that I don't feel any of that frustration that I used to feel.
Pre-made section templates feeds my creativity
What started as a really helpful tool quickly spiraled into something that was not. After using the software for several years on many different projects, One day I was locked out of my account, and eventually figured out that my account was suspended.
After contacting them through their sales chat, I was told that my Pro account had been suspended because one of my projects "looked like a scam" and "This was a possible violation of their terms of use."
Keep in mind this was a very, very rough draft, which consisted mostly of a few grabby headlines and Lorem Ipsum placeholder text. I assured them my client was a legitimate, brick-and-mortar business that has been in business for over 40 years. They asked for proof of this, so I provided an email from my client describing his business and what he needed. This was not sufficient, however, so I continued to be locked out of my account and unable to work on any of my projects.
Two days go by and I was contacted by the head of customer service. Instead of being helpful or considerate of this inconvenient situation, he instructed me to submit my client's "statutory documents and financial license" to get this resolved. That information, of course, is none of their business and I refused.
This overreach and secretly moderating my Pro account disturbs me. I don't know what's going on at Draftium/Weblium, but it's not their place to do this, especially on a mockup. I'll never use them again.
I've been able to put together prototypes I like in a minimal amount of time.
