Demand Tools is a powerful and versatile tool for Salesforce administrators and developers, highly praised for its ability to simplify data cleanup, automate tasks, and provide valuable insights. Users appreciate its ease of use, especially in bulk operations like de-duping, updating, and importing data. However, some users find the interface outdated and the learning curve steep, while others have encountered issues with the new version's reliability. Overall, Demand Tools is a robust solution for managing Salesforce data, but users should be aware of potential pricing and interface challenges.

1. The ability to export data that drills down through more than 3 objects is invaluable in my role of Salesforce Administrator and Developer. It allows me to extract (and analyze) data that cannot be extracted via Saleforce reports.
2. Another feature that is invaluable is the ability to extract data based on a single type of Salesforce ID to analyze the data related to that ID, both upstream and downstream of the source record ID used.
3. Demand Tools also enables me to update data and fields that are otherwise not editable to users in Salesforce (unless we create separate apex pages just for Enterprise Admins which would clutter up our org and add maintenance demands)..
1. The change to your pricing stratgey (based on the number of Salesforce users in our org instead of per named user) is a big negative to us. We have only 4 Demand Tools users in our company (who are Salesforce Administrators who support our org) and want to keep it that way because we don't want to give unknowledgeable Salesforce users the ability to edit, delete or export records they should not have access to. Your new pricing strategy costs us a lot of money in comparison to the previous pricing strategy (per named user). Our company should be grandfathered to the "named user" pricing model because we have been a consistant customer of CRM Fusion for over 12 years.
2. This is a minor nuisance compared to all the things I like about Demand tools. When logging into a sandbox using Demand Tools, it is a bit of a "trial and error" process because I cannot see the full username I'm attempting to login to. If it is wrong, then I select the next one down and try again. It would be more efficient if I could see the entire username in the login window when logging into a sandbox. As it works now, I don't see the full username until I login and can look at the bottom of the window to see the username to determine which sandbox I actually logged into.
Be very selective when choosing users to whom you give a Demand Tools license. The power of the tool can be greatly misused if the user is not focused at an overall org level. As they say "with great power comes great responsibility".

DemandTools makes every data task so much easier than it would be doing the work in Salesforce alone or using the DataLoader product that Salesforce makes available. It is truly the gold standard and I have been using it throughout my entire career. I'm at the point where a company has to have DemandTools for me to even consider working for them.
The only think I don't like about DemandTools is while their Power Grid product is super helpful when I create a scenario and pull up some data I can't go back and modify the filters that I've used to pull that data. I can save the scenario and then load it again to play with the filters a bit but it's a few extra steps that could be avoided if they just had a 'modify filters' button or something similar.
DemandTools can be an expensive resource, especially if you have a lot of Salesforce users in your org, but it pays for itself over and over in time saved.
There is tremendous value in the time I've saved using Reassign Ownership, Mass Effect, Power Grid, Find IDs, Single Table DeDupe within DemandTools. The time savings is huge and time is money so it pays for itself over and over in the normal course of business. As a Salesforce administrator I use DemandTools every. single. day.
Support.
The online documentation is solid with documents and recordings.
And Best of all, they have weekly 'Office Hours' for live tech support, so it is easy to get assistance with questions and learn from other organizations' experiences.
I have not come across anything I would say I disliked about Demand Tools
I have limited technical ability, so being able to use the Import function to bring data from sources (where I cannot control the quality of the incoming information) and then
Demand Tools allows me to standardize the info and remove duplication.
Most helpful thing is we can make sure our database is clean and make sure we are not entering duplicates into our system.
There is not a thing I dislike about Demand Tools
Duplicate records in our system have been an issue in the past. Since we started using Demand Tools our database is cleaned up and we have barely any duplicates.
Easy to use, a logical configuration and excellent application for quick updates in Salesforce. Last time I changed jobs, I negotiated at least one license with DemandTools before accepting the new position.
I used to dislike the UI but with the recent deployer, I use both UIs. Great to have a choice depending on what type of data I need to update.
I have rolled out territories, segments, sectors and employee changes with ease. Bulk updates on records are easy to complete one-time or routine basis.
My favorite feature is the ability to lookup record ids from a file. It has saved me countless hours of spreadsheet wrangling.
I can't think of anything I truly dislike.
Demand Tools is an excellent one-stop shop to make some of life's data struggles a little easier. I've not found any individual products that can deliver all the features and functionality found with Demand Tools. They are a leader in this field, and I'd recommend them to any Salesforce Administrator.
General Salesforce Admin life things like data manipulation and cleansing/deduping.
I like that scheduler is now built into the new version (even though I was a fan of Job Builder)
The new version has quite a few updates to keep up with
If you are looking for a tool to keep data clean and organized do not wait, get Demand Tools today!
Keeping the database in top shape so sales/marketing can perform their best. Our teams access the best of the best in SFDC because of Demand Tools
Mass Update, modify multiple fields in DT, update directly in DemandTools. etc.
I have no dislike as of this moment. Thanks
Multiple updates in the object, and standardization of feild formats
I love the Mac native capabilities of DTV. I also love the new look and feel, which is a more user-friendly interface. You don't feel like you need to be a technical genius to use DTV. I also like the ability to add/remove access so easily and without worrying about license count, so while the change from billing by seats to billing by the size of your SFDC org was a cost increase, it resulted in a framework that is easier to work in.
There are limitations to how you can display Tune results. I want to be able to sort alphabetically and move columns around more easily. I love that a user can see all the scenarios other users create, but I'd like the starred ones to be unique to me rather than the same across the org.
DT makes tedious administrator tasks simpler and faster! I love editing and bulk changes with Tune and Modify. Because you can see everything as it is happening, you don't have to wonder if you selected the right mapping like in Data Loader.

I like the versatility of DemandTools. Pretty much any data cleanup or manipulation that we need to complete can be done inside DemandTools. The ability to schedule jobs to run automatically ensures that our data is clean in accurte all day long. I love the Validity User Community which was recently added. This is an amazing place to brainstorm or troubleshoot with other users. It has saved me a LOT of frustration!
When first learning how to use the product, it can take time to learn which features achieve what end goal. Some of them are not worded as easily to understand exactly what they will do.
We have a lot of data that comes in to our CRM in a format different from how we store it. For instance, country code. We store 2 characters and many either have 3 characters or the whole name spelt out. DemandTools scheduling makes updating this data simple and hands off. The only thing we have to do is make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the internet.
