It's a huge time saver when it comes to size testing. I love how easy it is to create patterns, adjust them, and to create digital examples.
It seems it can't fold fabric over curved fold lines. The price is pretty steep for an indie pattern designer.
I don't have to get a test panel of 50+ people to test the patterns.
It is really easy to sew the parts in the 2D environment
I don't like The draping process in the 3D
Draping digital patterns and making prototyping easier
Clo3D is very intuitive software to use for 3D garment design. The interace feels familar like other design programs and the tools are straight forward and easy to understand. Clo3D produces some of the most realistic renders out there. Clo3D also is easier to use with other 3D software, where you need to import custom avatars or export the garment to complete in third party software.
With Clo3D there is a freedom in designing. While having a background or knowledge in pattern making and garment construction produces the best results, you can use the software and produce convincing garments without such experience and with some practice.
Since Clo3D is very accessible to anyone, from large companies to indivdual freelancers, there is a wealth of tutorials available on the internet. This makes it easy to find instructions for any technique or garment type.
One of the best things about Clo3D is that the license structure is more transparent than any other out there. The pricing for students and indivdual freelancers is a reasonable price and stated clearly on the website. As a subsriber you have full control on managing your account, payment method. You can do a monthly or yearly subscription and you can cancel or re-subscribe anytime on your own. Larger companies need to inquire for pricing, but this is expected.
Simulation in Clo3D is faster than others but it could be improved. Once you have lowered particle distance and have many layers, complex fabric physics and fitting simulation it slows down greatly.
I also wish settings layers was more encouraged. When you set parts or garments at a layer other than 0, it all turns a neon green which is distracting and makes it difficult to distinguish between pieces and layers while working. And it is much needed to use layers to have full control over simulation. It would be great if this color could be turned off or if you could set your own color for each layer.
I also wish it was a bit easier to convert custom avatars into Clo avatars. There is a tool today but these converted avatars get their shape changed if you want to keep size editing and no version of a converted avatar is compatible with Clo avatar shoes, hair and other smart accessories. This limits how these converted avatars can be rendered and usually they are only useful for fitting and then exporting the garment into other software for rendering.
Clo3D provides a 3D clothing software for a good price to individuals. All of the other 3D clothing software out there only focus on enterprise licensing and do not have transparent pricing. This allows someone like me to be able to freelance in this industry.
It limits the time of samples and fit issues because both parties can look at the changes and apply anything that is needed without having to send samples and measure and then send feedback, we can just work with the pattern files.
The huge learning curve. There are lots of videos and even training sessions that CLO sets up/posted but it is still not enough for little details. The help email is not much of a help and there are lots of unanswered questions that needs to be worked out internally.
Fitting issues and time. We can use the pattern pieces to figure out what is wrong on the models instead of taking about a month for the sample to get made and for it to get sent here and then additional time for measuring, fitting, and approval comments.
This software is easy tou use to make fashion show or presenting a fashion collection or also fashion project to know better way an also define how to over imagine lookes in real world
The software are some time leggy on working prosses and hang at that middel of the movement
It was solve my problem by creating a realistic dresse or model how to lookes when we create over garment in real
.it benefits are its a save over time to crate collection of dresses or fashion forecasts

The best part about CLO 3D is that anyone can start designing garments for their character whether they have a background in 3D cloth designing or not. Although it would require one to get familiar with the tools and work discipline.
Though I don't have any complaints about the software, I think they can improve the cloth fidelity when it comes to simulation. Much often it conflicts with the avatar.
I think it is giving the core power of designing clothes for CG characters into the hands of indie filmmakers who can't afford to be in a big studio environment.
