Useful for automation
Not such clarity on entry logs.
Some extra fields required in Search grid
In cargowise we have an option to integrate shipment via EDI, FTP & SFTP server which is most useful
I’ve worked in different freight forwarders for the past 13 years and Cargo Wise One has been my favorite operation system. It’s very complete and requires a lot of updates, but when you and your team utilizes most of its thousand features, it’s very easy to cover any person during vacation or unexpected sick day for example.
After 5 years working on it, with all the updates, it’s still hard not showing up in some data quality reports sometimes. I think I have learned everything that need to be 100% and then data quality team sends a report where something is missing.
I handle export, so when the overseas team also updates it, I can easily check if cargo has been cleared and delivered, for example, for a DAP or DDP shipment.
It’s easy to check and approve an overseas invoice or credit note.
It’s easy and fast to check shipments status when we get an unexpected call from customer asking about it.
eDocs is also one of my favorites things in CW1 to find very fast some information I need without having to search in my email chains, etc
CargoWise is faster and easier to handle than any other ERP system I have ever used e.g Cisco, ASCI
The certification examination requires unnecessary module completion which are irrelevant to what is needed
Going through the tutorial videos and other files is the best way to become an expert in the shortest time possible
CargoWise is an integrated system which solves the problem of having to logging into multiple systems, and has minimal chances of data loss.
I love how versatile I can make it. Made day to day operations so much easier.
Some parts confusing during training as well as initially navigating the system was a bit overwhelming.
Really spend the proper time training up and understanding the entire system.
It helped keep us better organized and track accounting better.
The workflow engine running throughout CW1 is by far it's greatest asset. It allows for standardisation and automation, which is everything we're striving for as a forwarder. The Uk customs module is also first class and i've not seen better.
The e-adapter is very good if you have your own developers.
PAVE and visual boards means we could house basically everything in the application, with limited requirements for other software over and above.
Not necessarily CW1 the product, but WTG do not train or implement the software themselves, and whilst I understand their strategy here, we could have done with more assistance. We engaged with a partner to get things over the line.
To fully understand the pricing and complete budgets is near on impossible in my eyes, as everything is billed by transaction. Although transparent, it's a nightmare to cross reference.
Make sure you source a good WTG partner to assist with implementation.
Do your research and look at all options.
Be prepared to compromise to take full advantage of the system and it's automation.
The accounting setup is almost too flexible. We're used to rigid software which feels safer in this area, so changing the mindset internally represents our biggest challenge.
Benefits-wise the use of workflow has meant we can retire some additional software and our developers can focus on customer facing work.
This is great software and has my best recommendations! It has many modules such as forwarding, warehousing, customs, quotes, etc. They all are integrated and interlinked, have full accounting capabilities for accruals and invoicing, have HR features for scheduling, CRM, wide EDI with airlines/shipping lines updates, bookings, etc. If set up all these features correctly, your operations staff can boost their productivity significantly.
By the way, it has many well-explained tutorial videos and user certification program for different knowledge levels. CargoWise encourages users to learn the software not only for more efficient work, they also offer discounts to the company with certified users.
I cannot recollect something particular what I dislike. Just be prepared that the CargoWise basic functionality is easy to use. However, if you want to leverage it to maximum, you need to learn it or have qualified personnel to help with its setup and users training. Our industry is complex and broad, you cannot expect the professional software to be simple to cover the business needs.
My highest recommendations. Many top forwarders have been implementing CargoWise recently, and many will join.
Great visibility of all shipments, easy to track, search, filter, make reports for your every desire, export them to Excel for further processing. Documents are generated by the system eliminating manual input and possible errors. All related documents are stored in a cloud and can be accessed by your colleagues from your and other offices reducing communication by email (or cannot if you restrict access rights, it's up to you). Selling and buying rates automation makes quoting, accrual, and billing super fast, easy, and accurate.
Easier documentation as well as cargo tracking from Booking to final destination delivery.
Nothing. So far CW1 has proved to be helpful.
The biggest problem solved is the cargo documentation area. Now it is easier to access and compile/obtain documents in an orderly arranged fashion.
I like the level of detail that the system can hold and how easy it is to use and navigate around.
Can run slowly at busy periods. Takes a while to load
Billing and managing full freight information
It's easy to use, and the platform has different tools to facilitate the experience
Sometimes the app disconnects instantly, becouse when this happen the info don't save
We use for make correctly HBL and MBL

In CW1, I like most of the automation included for more data to capture in bulk with accurate information.
In some scenario, I use to saw some backlogs in which crashes a lot in Forwarding modules.
If your looking for best ERP tool, then you should choose this.
I haven't used any other ERP tool but have heard some feedback in comparison but for me CW1 is good to use.
