Direct Communication and Engagement with Patients
What do you like best about CareMessage?
CareMessage is multi-purpose communication/engagement application. For the appointment reminders, CareMessage was able to interface directly with our EMR system (Greenway Intergy) which allows our patients to confirm, cancel or reschedule their appointments via text or voice and our EMR system will automatically update accordingly to their responses. Our CareMessage rep. guided us thru the many features, modules and functions CareMessage has to offer. We learned that we can target specific patient populations in our organization and are able to setup different interactive programs with a variety of features. For example, we can upload a list of our diabetic patients into CareMessage and setup a program to remind those patients of their routine tests. We can also send text message blasts to all or some of our patients of any news and/or events in the community. CareMessage also gives us the ability to view text message responses from patients and we can respond back to them in real time.
What do you dislike about CareMessage?
That our organization did not implement it sooner.
Recommendations to others considering CareMessage?
When implementing CareMessage, make sure to include key stakeholders in your organization who have a grasp on the patient flow, has access to the EMR back end and vendor and marketing team who will determine the verbiage used on the communications sent to the patients.
What problems is CareMessage solving and how is that benefiting you?
From implementation of CareMessage to day-to-day use of the product, the overall experience has been amazing. CareMessage is surrounded by a team of experts and their knowledge of the product and wiliness to share their successes from other clients sets them apart. The monthly calls with CareMessage are always educational as we learn new ways to engage our patients. With CareMessage, we have been able to solve some major communications issues we have had over the years with our patients. The first problem we solved was the patient appointment reminders. With CareMessage, we now have a truly integrated appointment reminder system that pulls data from our EMR system, then directly contacts the patient according to their choice of communication (text or phone call), allows the patients to confirm, cancel or reschedule their appointment and directly updates our EMR system with the patient's response. The second problem we solved was communicating directly with our patients. Whether it is sending a text message blasts to all of our patients on any news and/or events in the community or targeting specific patient populations and setting up wellness programs and reminders, CareMessage makes it possible to communicate with our patients in a variety of ways that truly work. Having the ability to see the patient responses in real-time and engaging the patient with direct messaging makes this an invaluable tool for our organization.

What do you like best about CareMessage?
- Clean, intuitive UI - makes rollout a breeze with minimal training.
What do you dislike about CareMessage?
- For patients, it's 'just texting' - no app, nothing new to learn, which reduces engagement barriers.
Recommendations to others considering CareMessage?
- Support, ongoing engagement from CareMessage. Not just with product features, but they really want to understand our business needs and the problems we are trying to solve with texting. Pleased with the product improvements we've seen in the past year that were specific features we requested.
What problems is CareMessage solving and how is that benefiting you?
- There is also an app - which is not what we lead in with, but for very engaged patients who want to text a greater volume or for PHI/confidentiality reasons where a secure app makes more sense, we have that as an option

Extremely easy to use and share information between physicians and patients.
What do you like best about CareMessage?
The ease of use of the application, the ability for nurses and other staff members communicate through it, and mainly the positive responses we have heard back from patients.
What do you dislike about CareMessage?
There truly are not many. It drains battery life quickly and as an administrator, I have heard that complaint a lot.
Recommendations to others considering CareMessage?
Try it! It has upgraded our patient satisfaction scores by quite bit. I like the ease of use and having information on patients easier to see than having to grab a laptop.
What problems is CareMessage solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication, transparency, adaptability and ease to use.

Straightforward solution to improve patient communication
What do you like best about CareMessage?
CareMessage is an easy-to-use platform that enables direct communication between patients and providers. As a Case Manager, it was a crucial link for harder-to-reach patients and allowed us to easily send links to resources and reminders for appointments. The ability to send mass texts also greatly improved many of our quality initiatives, as we could reach all patients about important community reminders and engage them more easily.
What do you dislike about CareMessage?
The inability to both send and receive images and PDFs posed a barrier many times. The formatting capabilities were also limiting, it was not always easy to segment larger bodies of text or create bullet points etc.
What problems is CareMessage solving and how is that benefiting you?
CareMessage creates a secure and reliable way to reach patients. It is bridging a needed communication gap in our age of modern technology. It has been helpful for many patients, particularly those who are less comfortable picking up the phone and has allowed us to reach patients who speak other languages more easily.

Outstanding idea
What do you like best about CareMessage?
One of the best things about CareMessage is how much it has improved the healthcare and the scale by which it has reduced heat care cost. One of the best features of CareMessage is the ease at which it reminds patients of their upcoming appointments.
What do you dislike about CareMessage?
The user interface can be better. It took me a good amount of time to get used to the user interface, but once I was familiar with the interface the platform delivered what it promised to do.
Recommendations to others considering CareMessage?
Give it a shot. It takes some time to get used to the overall interface
What problems is CareMessage solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems that I am trying to solve is to provide effective communication between the provider and the patient. One of the benefits I have realized is that this platform is very effective among people who have a lower annual income or unstable jobs.
