It is user-friendly and looks suitable for the day-to-day operations in the cadency app

Some features are not that good in Cadency

Day-to-day operations in business activities like reconcilers and reviewers can perform the task and it will show in the dashboard how many accounts are pending, not started, in review and completed state

We can generate reports from the Certification module based on the user requirements.

We can add new users to the group and remove users from the group

For Bulk changes in Cadency, we can use Bulk Account Maintenance (BAM)

It keeps us organized and has automated workflow to ensure task doers are aware and on-time with their tasks and task reviewers are notified to review and approve tasks once done. It has excellent reporting roll-up capabilities so all levels of management can understand where expected and completed deliverables stand at any given point in time.

For a large multi-national corporation with many different accounts and legal entities, there may be a fair amount of up-front programming to ensure the account reconciliation process follows the most constructive and optimal path of reconciliation.

Cadency helps ensure close tasks get done on a timely basis and automated workflow helps inform others when they must do their part in bringing tasks to closure.

-Standard functionality has great flexibility which allows you to setup/implement/integrate the Cadency software into our ERP; allowed us to setup the way we wanted our processes to work. Not to mention, ease of use by both the admins and the end users.

-Automation within the Recon and JE space allowed us to remove manual work both in the admin duties and the end users.

-Using Cadency reporting pulled into Power BI for near real time visibility to all users including upper management.

-With the JE functionality creating multiple JE templates to bring more into Cadency and integrate with different places within SAP ledger, BPC, extended ledger and beyond. More to explore here.

-Trintech’s customer portal allows the submittal and voting on future enhancements is huge benefit. This allows interaction with other companies using Cadency and getting ideas to take back to improve our processes.

-If you have an issue, you submit, and ticket and support is super helpful and timely resolution.

-Cadency is used on daily and used to make decision on continuous improvements.

-We continue to move to version to version to take advantage of new functionality.

-Can improve on turnaround time are the new enhancements, my guiding principles - keep it simple and move fast :)

Provided to not only perform recons and JEs, but have been used to cover some ERP gaps or more functionalityin these processes.

Cadency has the ability to handle huge data. At HPE, we are currently reconciling approximately 25k balance sheet accounts amounting to 1.5 Billion USD each month and Cadency is able to handle this huge data each month and provides a seamless user experience. Trintech support is fantastic and is on top of issues reported with the application.

The Run now option in reporting in Cadency doesn't pull huge reports in foreground, however does pull huge reports in background. System configuration function is missing in current Cadency version which was available in historical versions and could allow admins to use certain features like increase system time out settings, Change reports database, change document repository to name a few.

At HPE we reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and the ability to group the accounts at company code and account level makes it easier to reconcile accounts for a similar nature rather than reconciling them separately. The reports extracted from Cadency helps the user community to report accurate numbers to management and take steps to clear the open items in a timely manner. Management reporting in Cadency enables users to manage their workload efficiently. SOX controls are efficently handled through reports audit reports available in Cadency.

The robust database of Cadency enables better system performance especially during peak reconciliation deadlines.

Our organization is Cadency from past many years and the tool bought significant changes in our end to end R2R processes in terms of improvement, consistency, effectiveness and better control. After implementation the Cadency we have achieved great end user experience as the system is easy to use with number number of features it provides great visibility for the preparers and reviewers. Also, Cadency provides effective integration to SAP, which gives more control on the journals, reconciliations, data integration. Cadency has become lifeline of our day to day business tasks. Frequency of use has been increased after we started using Cadency for different activities.

The overall support from Trintech is good, however we look forward to get more support for our business users who works in different time zones like: ANZ, APAC.

Cadency has seamless integration with SAP and it helps to validate the data from SAP on a real time basis. With implementation of Close and Compliance module we got a benefit to watch the progress of the key process controls and at the end of the day or a month we have a consolidated report how our controls are being performed. This helps in getting clear visibility for management reporting and area where improvement is required.

The accounts we have converted to Match module is the best part I like. Not only Match tool matches the transactions (very high volume) thru AutoMatch Rules, but also it reconciles the Account Balances.

Within Match module, we have been able to use Amortization functionality to keep Amortization schedule, journal entry export to book the Journals in Oracle ERP.

Since we already have ReconNET for bank reconciliations, we use the DataSYNC feature to reconcile the Bank/Cash GL accounts to perform reconciliation and are able to bring open transactions (bank to Book report) directly into Cadency Certification.

2% dislike

We reconcile account balances in both Transactional and Reporting currency. The 2% issue is specifically to the transactions that are not in Functional Currency. These transactions dont have have any issue in Match module, however, when these transactions are reconciled, it converts from Transactional straight to Reporting and it loses the functional conversion.

We have built a report which identifies the variance of Reporting Currency balance and users are easily able to use the report as a supporting document for Account reconciliation in Cadency Certification for SOX Compliance.

1. Saves time to AutoMatch transactions in Match module and in ReconNET (for bank related transactions)

2. Seamless transaction (Unmatched/Outstanding) interface from Match module to Cadency Certification for reconciliation. No need to attach Excel file as supporting document

3. Seamless Bank to Book transactions interface (from ReconNET) thru DataSYNC into Cadency Certification for Cash account reconciliation

4. Reconciler and Approver workflow process to review and approve/reject reconciliation is completely seamless

4. Data Integrity, Compliance

I like the system workflow, audit trails and visability to management by way of the dashboards. Coordination of both internal and external audits are more efficient with the use of Cadency.

We had some difficulty in the original setup of the system, mainly due to our lack of knowledge of the details of the tools. The overall project for implementing the modules took onger than planned.

I like how easily Cadency integrates with SAP and different ERPs so that you can centralize all your reconciliations and journal entries. I also enjoy the fact that you can automate multiple functions within the software so that both the users and administrators can save time and be more efficient!

Some advanced reports' functions/cubes are setup in a way that requires an extra step but it is absolutely not an issue in the grand scheme of things and is a minor incovenience at best.

Facilitate the reconciliations process and also the journal entries process at the end of the month. Easy to also bulk and automate the recs that are at 0$ or the entries that are recurring every month. Main problem that it is solving is time management/be more efficient.

Cadency tool is very effective and useful from user's as well as admin's perspective. It is very user friendly and there are very good customized reports which can be used in preparing the financial statements of an organization.

I would not say any dislikes but in reporting, there is an area of improvement that if we need some combine information, we do not get it in one single report, we need to pull 2/3 reports and combine them to get the required information. There is a limitations to customize a report. We do not get all the required fields to merge in a single report while customizing.

Once the issue is raised with Trintech, their support staff immediately responds to you and try their level best to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Cadency is being constantly improved to address evolving client needs. Once implemented for one entity it can be easily implemented to other entities with train the trainer approach.

Customer Support teams could improve their work, response time and resolution to more complex cases. We would also appriciate having better ability to integrate bewteen Cadency and Workday.

Global finance tool that gives visibility into the month end close process and balance sheet for compliance and risk assessment. This tool is integral to the balance sheet review, control and audit functions.
