What do you like best about Cachet?

1. Cachet platform enables us to create a centralized status page platform for providing operational & maintenence-related updates in our organization.

2. It supports sharing of automated notifications via its Subscriber Notification System (SNS) for various application components such as web-server, APIs and database services in our project.

3. Since Cachet is an open-source status page platform, it doesn't wrap ties under any specific vendor for proprietary solutions. We can choose our customizations & hosting options based on our customer requirements with ease.

What do you dislike about Cachet?

1. Customer support is a major concern since Cachet is powered by community-driven support for developments, updates and user contributions and not by Vendors.

2. Certain advanced features such as SLA management, advanced notification & alerting, extensive integration options with many third-party tools and easy implementation of workflow automation needs more improvements.

3. Cachet is suitable cost-effective status update solution for smaller projects with limited budget allocations.

What problems is Cachet solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. We opt for Cachet platform to build our custom status page & incident visibility without any costly licensing fees.

2. It provides the much needed transparency between various teams working cohesively on a customer procurement.

3. We share real-time updates on our services, incidents and maintenance activities with our stakeholders, ensuring that everyone are on the same page.

4. It also helps the end users to quickly create service request tickets and easily identify the progress from its unified dashboard, which shows real-time updates such as Open, Assigned, In-progress, Resolved.

5. We can also preserve incident history so that when similar issue arise, we can easily follow the same template for quick resolution of customer difficulties.

"It's a beautiful status page but so annoying to install"
What do you like best about Cachet?

1. The design is really nice and minimalistic. It basically looks just like the status page by Atlassian.

2. It's really easy to create new components, incidents and maintenance events.

3. You can customize the whole site with built-in tools.

4. The API metrics are cool!

5. Google 2FA is integration is a plus.

6. You can choose what webserver you want.

7. Well, it's free!

What do you dislike about Cachet?

1. The installation. I'm not a Linux admin and don't have a lot of experience with Linux. It took me a week to install Cachet and get it up and running properly.

2. The install / management documentation is bad. It's not really in depth at all.

3. Email integration doesn't always work / is not that easy to configure.

4. You can't edit email templates and the translation to other languages (German in our case) is just alright.

I've used both Apache and NGINX but installed it on NGINX in the end.
