BrowserStack is a very helpful remote-controlled device library for cross-browser testing on real machines with different software versions. It helps me check responsiveness and compatibility quickly. If there is a rare bug on a specific device, I can reproduce it and verify my fixes. I am surprised by the many negative reviews; a paid plan above the freelance level is probably required to get all the benefits without limitations.

Hooked onto the trial plan to test out the software. Not too bad; customer service was very helpful, however speed wasn’t great even though I’m based in a built up area. Ended up going with Kobiton cloud which works much better.

poor service and very expensive
We used Browserstack at a big french company I won't name. Bad experience, no true wait queue, awful management of incoming requests: you can have 5 waiting requests, if there are more, connections get "broken" at TCP level. We had incredible CI crashes due to their requests management. And, it's *very* expensive. We want to a competitor which has a real waiting queue, has much less flakiness and no strange behavior, and, incredibly, is twice less expensive. We never looked back.

The product it self is decent
The product it self is decent. Speed is not fantastic and there are problems connecting local builds to their phones. We have been using it for automated crossbrowser tests which have at times been unreliable and caused build pipelines to fail. Probably this cannot be 100% avoided but seems like that have improved a bit over the last year, we haven't seen as many strange error. How ever, we are suddenly running into exceeded amount of automated testing minutes on the basic plan. which we have never experienced before, so maybe they have deducted the amount of minutes available without lowering the price of the plan. (just speculation)... Another interesting thing to notice is their price development for the next plan that they suggest that we switch to.2017 May: 59$ 2018 May: 99$2019 May: 129$That's about 100% increase in two years... I regret that we have spend a lot of time setting up automated test environment with their service when the product and the price seems to fluctuate like that. I would not recommend getting too tightly married to any service/company that have a price increase of 100% in that period of time, regardless of arguments like "we are just following the market prices" - sure, you are free to follow market prices... and should expect critique for doing so.

Had issues with local testing for 6+ months.

Made around 5 attempts to get help from the support staff and engineers, but all of my requests were ignored.

Shout out to Manvi for ignoring my messages!

Horrible billing practices
We decided we didn't want to renew our corporate contract with them a few weeks before our contract renewal. But they held us to the entire amount of our 5-figure yearly contract since we hadn't notified them at least 30 days in advance. They wouldn't even let us reduce it. Horrible experience. DO NOT USE. There are other tools out there that are not so bloated or expensive.

It's funny that this site gives you a free trial, but the trial doesn't work
Then technical support tells you to upgrade your account to try what this nonsense is
Why offer a free trial if the trial does not work in reality? I do not like lying and this site is a liar
As long as the site is lying from the beginning before purchase, how will it be after purchase? I think this site is one of the worst sites I have ever come across in my life.

Bad and expensive!
Doesn't worth the money. This service is super expensive, I took the "freelancer deal" just because I didn't do enough research to find out this is the MOST EXPENSIVE service out of its field and for limited features! you don't get screenshots or video with this deal!! why???I paid $19.9 per 100 minutes of usage, and the best part is, if you don't sign out of the app, it'll keep charging you for minutes you didn't use, so the result was, I paid $20 for about 50 minutes of real use. When contacted the support about that, they argued with me for about 10 email turnarounds, claiming I used all of the minutes and didn't take responsibility for their bad practice. A very short research, later on, got me to a competitor that gives a full month of unlimited use for the same price, with all features open.

Extremely deceptive pricing, massive charges without any notice
Extremely deceptive pricing. Essentially robbery. Beware! They will auto-renew your plan annually without any notice whatsoever! You won't receive any email whatsoever before they slap you with a sudden annual renewal fee up to >$1,000, even if you stopped using the product ages ago.Note that there is NO CANCEL BUTTON ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE. They expect you to manually email them before the auto-renewal period. If you ask for any refund for the surprise charge, they will tell you they have a "strict no-refund policy".Avoid this company. Their business model is deception.
