The platform is really integrative and intuitive
It would be great if they had a mobile app!
Billing!
The functionality is perfect for our needs, and everyone (legal department & law firms) transitioned easily to Brightflag. Our Chief Legal Officer is so pleased about the ease of use. Also, we implemented it in less than a month. The staff at Brightflag, from my first call with Richard Sheffield/Adam Moursy to our implementation and ongong support calls with Nicole Clauberg/Sharon Palchek, have each been amazing. They are savvy, responsive, and quickly resolve any issues that crop up.
We have had a few minor issues related to our batch file emails to the AP team, but those are being resolved successfully.
We are a lean department and don't have extra resources available for complicated, sometimes counterintuitive eBilling systems. Everyone can use Brightflag, and you don't need an advanced degree to generate reports. It has all the functionality and features we wanted. Overall, I'm extremely pleased we transitioned to Brightflag.
We are currently in the process of implementing Brightflag and the team has been fantastic to work with. Our implementation project manager and customer success manager have been very supportive through the process. They experience and background have helped guide us with design, build and improve our functionality from our previous system. They expertise helped guide us to improve our connection with Coupa and plan for upcoming upgrades. I am looking forward to going live with Brightflag.
At the moment I don't have any concerns or issues with Brightflag.
improved spend transparency and reporting, API integeration for our international accounts payable team, payment status update feed back to Brightflag
Brightflag's internal cost center budget feature provides a centralized location for managing all costs related to an internal legal department. I can sent budgets on the cost center level as well as individual budgets for each legal matter.
While Brightflag provides create matter and legal spend management, there needs to be work on the reporting feature. However, I have personal experience that their product team takes your feedback into consideration and implements them in a timely fashion. Some things I would like to see is granular filtering within the report creation step.
It is giving me a centralized location for budget management, at the legal cost center and matter level. Brightflag also provides exceptional customer service to our external law firms vendors, therefore lifting the burden of managing vendor issues in the tool.
Its an easy to navigate platform, and being sent emails is really helpful.
Because the platform emails over copies of the invoices once approved, it means less logging in for me to need to do, but this causes issues with being made to change password because of not logging in, and this was not easy as it kept looping around. Had to make contact with IT team to fix
Getting approvals from the right team before processing invoices
Immediate visible benefit, as well as long term value. Strong support.
Nothing at all to dislike. Looking forward to added functionality as it is deployed.
There are a number of competing solutions in the market, and all of them replicate some of the functionality of Brightflag. Some of them also offer additional services, like matter management so be very clear what you are looking for when you review the market. It was the Brightflag AI engine which clinched the decision for us as it provides us with the ability to drill down into very high levels of external legal spend. Also (as usual) look beyond the sales guys to what the implementation and support offerings will be - Brightflag has been amazing in this area: their team has been available, helpful and provided a very high level of close support throughout deployment.
Very high levels of spend with external law firms, but very limited ability to assess value-for-money or efficiency. Even in the early stages of deployment Brightflag is helping us to see whether we are spending, and where we might be able to realise savings.
I like ow user friendly it is. It is very intuitive and if you have an issue the help page, especially with video tutorials, is most helpful. The customer success managers give you everything you need to succeed. Also, as you become more familiar with the product, you can see that it grows with your company.
Being unsure how to assist vendors because I'm not aware of their side of the platform. However, every time I email brightflag support on their behalf, any issue is rapidly resolved to both my and the vendors satisfaction.
it is allowing all vendors to invoice and accrue in one place. The reporting is good as well. It allows me to communicate across departments and with multiple stakeholders for success.
Ease of use. Confidence in reporting. Customer service from Lauren. "Can do" attitude.
I think it would be great if BF could be a bit more agile as well as predictive from a user experience perspective.
There are updtaes and new features but I think, to be competitive, know your customers business and use the AI to anticipate your customers needs. Be curious as to what your customers next moves might be.
Consider other uses of BF for your customers.
It would be so good to have a scorecard attached to Brightflag Workspace. We would use it then.
Merging claims managment systems with BF
I have been an administrator supporting our Brightflag account for about 2 years now and I can not say enough good things about the system and customer support. The ease of use and integration have helped streamline our review process, saving time and money for the organization. It has strengthened internal communication as well as our relationship with our vendors. Our account managers have been wonderful to work with and are quick to provide solutions to any concerns. With our annual business account review, Brightflag is able to identify our strengths and weaknesses in use cases to adapt better billing and review habits.
I have not found anything to dislike about Brightflag. They are very open to adapting system changes to continue to streamline the process for their clients.
Brightflag helps our team best with time management. The amount of time reviewing invoices is significantly reduced. Our accounting teams spend less time chasing accruals because the system tracks that data input and provides multiple notices to the firms regarding deadlines.

Brightflag has proven itself invaluable in just a few months. We now have insight into data that we never even tracked before, let alone could leverage.
No downsides - if there are ever kinks (and there rarely are) Brightflag support is unparalleled. They are easy to get a hold of, quick, thorough, and always a pleasure. There are some additional features I wish were available (like the ability to select many attributes from a dropdown), but we are pleased with the updates made on an ongoing basis.
Brightflag gives us access to financial data that was previously too cumbersome to track. It also allows us to catch expenses that are out of line with our billing guidelines. In the end, this has saved the organization tens of thousands of dollars in just a few short months. It has also given us the ability to track metrics and use those to evaluate outside counsel performance.
