Easy to learn and enter customer info. User friendly.
We don't do billing from Blue Folder and that is why we don't use it more often.
We can see when other electricians are scheduled for certain jobs so we don't over book
We can invoice as soon as work is completed. Service history tracking is much easier then before.
Custom reports can be difficult to create.
Recurring jobs help us make sure PM's are completed on time.
The ability to track and find history on old jobs, equipment, serial numbers etc.
Blue folder does not transfer the cost of new materials to quickbooks, which makes more work for me to enter each cost individually in quickbooks when creating new products/items.
Line items transfer date to QuickBooks. There's no option to turn off date transfer. I have to manually remove the date from each item on quickbooks side. If i dont, the invoice will not print the line items in the order i arrange it.
After transfer, I also would like the option to have the words (wok order details/notes) removed.

Ease of use made employee onboarding very simple and most find the interface intuitive. The API was a huge factor in choosing to go with BlueFolder. We have integrated it with our own proprietary business management software and fully automated billing via a custom QBO connector.
It would be nice to have more user types with different fees associated with them. For example, we have some managers who want login access (paid per user) even though they really don't do anything with it. Also, the way the API is linked to a user account makes it so that when I expand our custom integrations to our sister companies I'll need to add paid user to each of them. A single developer account that could have access to multiple companies would be a nice solution.
We used to keep track of all work done and parts used on paper. BlueFolder has completely changed how our business operates, for the better. Our billing has become significantly more accurate since adopting BlueFolder.
I like all of the functionality that we can do with it. Every day we find more uses for it.
Sometimes I wish support could be faster.
We used to use paper to manage all of our technicians across four states and as you can imagine it didn't work well. Bluefolder has allowed us to streamline our whole process and reduce our time to invoice and increase our customer satisfaction.
It has really good built-in reports that I use to make sure tickets and work orders are completed and follow standard procedures.

We had some minor difficulties getting our customer and billing data set up correctly. This was due to keeping a process that is antiquated within our system- but required a good bit of hand typing.
We have eliminated retyping paper field work orders, which is a large time saver. Also, tracking all open and lending work orders allows us to stay on top of pending items.
