Comprehensive Financial Data, Real-Time Market Data, In-Depth Company Analysis, Excel Integration
High Cost, Steep Learning Curve, Outdated User Interface, Limited Offline Accessibility
Bloomberg Terminal is lauded for its comprehensive financial data, real-time market information, and robust analytical tools. Users particularly appreciate its speed, efficiency, and the ability to access diverse data sources in one platform. However, they often cite the steep learning curve, outdated user interface, and high cost as drawbacks. While Bloomberg's support team is praised for its responsiveness, some users note inconsistencies in the quality of assistance provided. Overall, Bloomberg Terminal remains a powerful tool for financial professionals, but its user-friendliness and accessibility could be improved.

The with of data Available on Bloomberg is phenomenal - you get everything you can think of.
It user interface can be a lot more easy to use for someone who is new.
Learn the commands and how to extract the data you need. Once you are comfortable with that, Bloomberg is a life saver.
Valuation and anyone looking to do any lind of financial analysis
The user friendly UI that helps to search anything as simply as typing it on Google.
Nothing as of now. The software is really good and works well almost every time. And in many instances it also gives information about non public companies.
It solved my purpose of company consensus data, peer analysts estimate, guidance, call transcripts, adjustments to profits and many more.
As the market opens, I need live news from every primary news source and look at detailed views of individual companies as they appear on the news ticker. I need to have a calendar of economic releases ready so that I'm not caught unaware by the release of market-moving information
It is not costly. Not everyone can afford it
It gives real-time prices followed by news which helps in trading. Based on my experience and the organization i worked I could see that it is not much help to the equity traders
I like that all data is laid out in one place, and there is no question that all data will be there
It is not very intuitive, and sometimes difficult to find certain data points or functionalities. Sometimes, when I have asked for help with some functions, I have received very little help
I use it to pull data points to look for trends in price movements - it is very quick and easy to pull data in from Bloomberg, and thus it makes me far more productive
I love the plethora of information! Not only are you able to search and find information on nearly every index, equity, bond, and any other security created, but you can compare these features and find very helpful information. You can also export directly to Excel which is much easier than copying and pasting.
I do wish the layout was a little prettier. FactSet was more intuitive than Bloomberg and did not require a special terminal or keyboard.
Make sure to memorize the shortcuts that you need to type in to get to certain screens. It will make your research more efficient and you will be able to find more data quickly. Also get used to using the keyboard and typing in numbers that correspond to finding data as the keyboard is easier to use on Bloomberg than is the mouse.
Finding yield and duration information, comparing indices, seeing what percentage the market is pricing in more Fed rate cuts.
Just the sheer amount of data that they have, seriously. I used Thomson Reuters before but Bloomberg's menu was much easier to use. Plus, more companies and investors are using it in comparison so you'll have more access to the market
Excel add-in was slower than the software. But that wasn't a big issue
Usually i used it for data collection for my research at the university. Tools and addin in the excel were quite useful to specify what exactly i was searching
The amount of information you can receive from the system is amazing. it is quite comprehensive and valuable to use
It is a bit difficult to understand all its functionalities at the beginning but with the time you can get used to it
Highly recommended
it is making the financial decisions and analysis easier since you have a large amount of data
The Bloomberg terminal is incredibly helpful for investment professionals. The amount, and quality, of data is unparalleled.
It can be “cumbersome” to use and requires a somewhat steep learning curve.
Ask Bloomberg consultants for help. They are very good and helpful
I am able to get a large number of varied financial data for international companies across asset classes.

It enables professionals in the financial service sector and other industries to access Bloomberg Professional Services. Users can monitor and analyze real-time financial market data and place trades on the electronic trading platform. In any financial company, from the front office to the middle and back office, it has all the functions and features you need.
Its way of structuring and coding predominates it; if a company wants to tailor the product to its own need, it will cost a lot of money and time, unfortunately.
It provides a one-stop service to all financial institutions
My firm uses it for trading, portfolio management, monitoring, and surveillance purpose.
