Our school previously used multiple software systems with multiple log-ins. Now I log in once and can see everything from billing to college preparation in one place.

It has taken some getting used to, but so far it seems to work well.

Parent-friendly systems increase communication with and participation by families at the school.

Benefit as a parent - I can go back and forth among the "apps" for student and family management of grades, billing, directory, and contacting teachers.

All-in-one and customizable. Features like turning in work online and uploading all classroom materials are essential during Covid. Easy to use.

You cannot access student submissions from the gradebook--they're not linked. Teachers are also not notified when missing work has been turned in. Assignments can only be given to the whole class, not to individuals or groups of students.

They are actively seeking feedback and adding new features, so although it is not perfect now, it is rapidly improving.

Students can be grouped into cocurriculars, organizations, sports, clubs, which makes it easy to know who is involved with what and contact them all at once.

I can pull really detailed reports, cross-categorizing through student personal data, course schedule, and transcript information

It's not as user-friendly for people who are not extremely tech-savvy. I feel like there should be more obvious shortcuts to common questions, such as obtaining the roster for a specific class from an enrolled student's schedule, etc.

I can get the info I need and trust that it's reliable and valid information. I can run obscure analyses and reports that most people would never need or think they could possibly need, and it's the same process as running the most common reports for educators.
