Bento provides a Figma design file to plan your build and the user interface of building a Bento is intuitive. I built impressive dashboards in a matter of hours. We are excited to launch and see the lift on activation.
No complaints. All issues were promptly handled by their growth team, ensuring we got set up properly.
Onboarding checklists, training videos implementation, empty states, net promoter surveys, tutorials, and much more to come!
This app does not waste my time with font import/setup. I love the Inline style preview, so I don't have to publish to preview. With this, I can concentrate on content, targeting, and enhancing my growth experiments and strategy.
Love the customer support and responsiveness, especially during evaluation and onboarding.
They are a new startup, I wish they provide more self-serve documentation so I don't have to bother customer support.
Improve self-service experience and usage. Improving onboarding support for new users. Increase new features discovery.
The Bento product is easy to use, and the Bento team has been great to work with! We've been able to set up relatively complex onboarding guides quite quickly. One possibly underappreciated aspect of using Bento is how easy it is to iterate and change things until you're satisfied with your onboarding flow. Via normal development, the same iterations would have taken weeks instead of hours. The Bento platform enabled our dev team to work on other projects. Bento gives you just the right amount of flexibility without being so complex that it's painful. It's also straightforward to integrate into your site. Finally, I appreciated the guidance and ideas from the Bento team, both via meetings and from website articles.
There aren't many things to dislike; Bento has met our needs very well! The dashboard has a few UI bugs, but I'm confident they'll get taken care of over time. In the future, I'd love to see the Bento team offer "drip style" onboarding emails (currently, one "nudge" email is supported, which is a great start), a CSV export for all users and the steps they completed (to join with our data), and more text styling options. Finally, it would be great if onboarding and contextual guides had separate limits. Contextual guides are excellent, but since we've chosen a plan with a guide limit, it's hard to justify deploying anything other than onboarding guides since they are more powerful.
Bento solves a critical problem for our B2B SaaS app: ensuring new customers can get started easily. B2B onboarding is complex; it can require actions by several users, and steps can differ depending on a customer's situation. Bento enables us to build and deploy onboarding guides with minimal development overhead, allowing our team to work on other features.
Bento has helped us create a native-feeling onboarding experience that's easy to change and update on the fly. We switched off of a competitor because we weren't getting much value out of a "pop up" style onboarding experience. I really love Bento's thoughtful approach to onboarding, and although we've only been live for a few weeks we've already seen people make it through our guide to have meaningful results! I also appreciate the responsiveness of the Bento team - even though they're pretty small they're always shipping delightful improvements and are very open to feedback.
Dislike is too strong of a word! Their pricing options were a little confusing/opaque. It was also slightly tricky for our engineers to figure out how to set it up correctly in our product - more robust documentation would be helpful. I would love to see them lean more into the analytics side of things too - it's really exciting to see users progress through the guides so it would be cool to think about interesting insights they could provide with the data they have.
Bento is helping us provide our customers with an onboarding experience that feels like our product, is consistent with our website messaging (even when it changes, which, as a startup...), and helps users accomplish meaningful goals.
I have loved how easy it is for Bento to integrate with our product. We were able to get up and running within a week and deploy our first guide. Working at a startup means iterating quickly, and Bento easily allows us to deploy guides and test what works. It looks great in our product and looks like it was built in-house! The support we have received from the team has also been fantastic, and they've been very receptive to our feedback and quick to solve any issues or answer questions.
It would be great to see much more granular targetting and even the ability to have A/B testing built directly into the product. The reporting could also be a little bit more granular, with reporting built out on the Bento platform.
Bento allows us to tailor guides for our free trial customers and existing paying users. What this means is that we can focus on two different objectives from one platform - with onboarding guides for free trial users and adoption/upsell guides for existing customers. It also allows us to experiment and see what is working and what is not and fine tune our approach.
The buying process was super easy. The platform itself was compelling because it gives you more than just an overlay. Will update this review as we use Bento more and more.
Nothing so far. Will update this review as we use Bento more and more.
Our main objective with using Bento is driving training, optimal setup, and adoption of our platform
The customization of the tool and the UX are really impressive!
Systems can get complicated really fast, but they're always working on new features that improve on that.
Bento helps us onboard clients seemlessly!

I think the biggest benefit for Bento remains the level of flexibility. For anyone that likes to control what customers see during onboarding, you are covered here. Down to persona, account, company, and even an import of specific tags...it is pretty incredible how flexible the control features and settings are. Additionally, this tool is very easy to pick up and use, particularly compared to other clunky onboarding tools.
Probably just a nit-picking item but having a huge library of onboarding examples could accelerate our own usage and design. Trust me, you are given some examples but there is probably room for more for inspiration.
Bento helps us onboard our customers more quickly, by providing a simple guide through their onboarding experience. We could always code in a first-time UX, but i'd rather my engineers focus on building the product itself.

Bento is an intuitive, easy-to-use tool for customer onboarding. What started as a small trial quickly became a company-wide excitement to integrate Bento into all our customer comms. We are now beginning to set up Bento for everything from subscription-specific onboarding to training reinforcement for advanced users.
Bento became a quick hit with Engineering when it became clear how little work was needed on their end (outside of the initial integration). Also, engagement is significantly higher than with our general newsletter communications. We're excited to see how Bento helps us continue to drive customer adoption!
No major dislikes. There has been a normal amount of bugs/initial deployment questions, but the Bento team has quickly addressed any issues that have come up. In terms of future roadmap, I'm excited to see Bento continue to build more robust reporting.
Improve customer communications and drive user adoption.
