BambooHR is the first HRIS system we've ever used and it's incredibly helpful for us. We use it as a self-serve portal for staff to update their contact information, we also customized it to ask about allergies and t-shirt sizes. All of our benefit forms live in BambooHR so staff can easily access the 1-pagers and information at anytime as we have multiple benefit providers. It's also so worth the money for hiring purposes. I can collaborate with different hiring managers, specific staff on their team if needed. We used to use multiple hiring systems and had many log-ins, which was messy. I cannot say enough good things about how helpful the hiring feature (and data that comes with it) is.
Honestly not much at this time. If I were to give any constructive criticism it would be that sometimes the job postings don't link up with Indeed and I've had to reach out to the Indeed team separately to get the issue resolved.
I wish we had implemented it sooner
Sifting through the high volumes of resumes that come in - the system automatically marks who has previously applied and for what role. It allows us to keep track of emails sent to candidates so they're all in one place. It has helped our team save a lot of time in the hiring process.
It helps me find colleague names, job information, contacts, managers, etc. It's very easy to configure automations and notifications for new hires. It also is very easy to integrate with external softwares, which are proprietary.
I dislike that there are some hard coded fields that are unable to be moved/removed or others added manually, even by contacting the Bamboo HR support, which obviously would be great to have for everyone.
It solves some problems with the termination of employees, by automating some of the company's processes, also greatly helps with minimizing the quantity of paper that we otherwise have previously printed on paper, now we sign them digitally through the Bamboo HR system.
So many things! Having employees HR file all easily accessible, the tasks, reminders, training is all customizable and easy to use.
I wish I could edit a file directly in Bamboo rather than having to delete the old, update it and then upload and configure the signatures again.

Having employee files and company files centralized in one location. The reporting features (i.e., turnover, headcount, EEO-1 reporting etc. ) are invaluable. I couldn't imagine gathering all the data required to file an EE0-1 report.
While BambooHR has been a great addition, I've noticed when you attend a Bamboo sponsored events it triggers information sharing with add-on vendors, which I'm not a big fan of.
This is more of a suggestion that a dislike, but I wish they would bring back their annual conference. It was a great experience, and the speakers were fabulous. I think it really got everyone excited about Bamboo and created a network betwen users.
At the end of the day, BambooHR remains a great system and I would highly recommend.
I would ask for a referral/contact to someone currently using BambooHR in the same or similar industry and company size. It would be helpful to learn about the implementation process and how they utilize BambooHR.
The notes section in Bamboo is invaluable. In Human Resources, we document all day long, and when senior management has questions, they can pull up the notes. This saves time for everyone.
I love how easy BambooHR was to set up and deploy to our team. I also love giving our employees transparency into the performance goals, time off balances, and beenfits.

The things I like the best about BambooHR is the easy of use, org chart, hiring tab, reports, surveys (satisfaction & wellbeing) and the customer support is truly incredible.
I wish that you could make custom reports with graphs, charts, etc.

I love that our employees now have access to information without ever having to email or call someone. It saves both them and I time. Our employees express their happiness with BambooHR continously because they can go to one spot to see their paystubs, PTO balances, benefit enrollments, and more. Before BambooHR we were a spreadsheet driven company. Now we have everything at our fingertips. The reporting functions are also amazing.
The only downside I have seen is the challenge with people who do not like to use technology.
I am no longer tracking HR data on spreadsheets and I am using it for Payroll.

Customization and tailoring of performance review questions not available. I wish this aspect of the system was a little more dynamic and adaptable to our organization's needs.

The ability to send documents to staff and have them sign them digitally is a big time saver. Payroll is a breeze. I also really like the celebration reminders are in advance so you can properly honor employee birthdays or anniversaries.
The benefits side is a tough implementation to ensure deductions are correct and everything is up to date. Also I don't like that on the time sheet you can't edit them after submitted.
All my my Hr was either on paper or through our payroll processor but the price was so high that we are saving so much money they using BambooHr. What is not to love about saving money.
