Balsamiq is a popular wireframing tool praised for its simplicity and ease of use, making it ideal for beginners and quick prototyping. Users appreciate the drag-and-drop functionality, pre-built UI components, and the ability to create clickable prototypes. However, some users find its low-fidelity design limits its usefulness for high-fidelity projects. Balsamiq also faces criticism for its limited customization options, lack of collaboration features, and occasional slow performance, particularly in the cloud version. Overall, it's a great option for rapid ideation and client communication, but it may not be suitable for all use cases.

I loved using balsamiq to design prototypes and use it for building app and website designs. I used to for personal and work use and it help me create baseline screens for apps.
I was not too fond of the learning curve of balsamiq. It took me some time to learn the ins and outs of the product and how to use it from end to end. If I could have had tutorials for the product, that would have helped me onboard.
Balsamiq allowed me to design website and app screens for my work to create a baseline idea of what I wanted to build. Since I was a product manager, this allowed me to showcase ideas without including product design up front.
Quick wireframe creation is the best function of Balsamiq. Predefined presets are very much useful for a design requirement. It gives the user an idea of how the screen will look and behave in terms of user experience.
Sometimes we don't find a specific design we have in mind for some inputs, especially the latest design of the input. For example, dropdown which shows in the wireframe is very basic and not able to find any alternate for the same.
When I want to convey the design to UI expert, I will use the balsamiq so that UI expert will know my expecations. Also changing the wireframes in balsamiq is very easy, drag and drop, which is helping in accomodating the changes.
Balsamiq has a low learning curve. I could quickly get started and show a wireframe to developers on what our customer needs were. There are some advanced parts of the application, but they were not needed to get the message across that I wanted to communicate.
I don't have any dislikes of the product. It has come through for me every time I have needed it. I use a mac, and I use the latest version of Balsamiq for macOS.
When working with a client, they will describe what they want a user interface to look like. I go to Balsamiq to give them a detailed description of what I will build. The output looks hand drawn, so it is obvious that it is not the final product and still needs to be made.
Balsmiq is super easy and let's you create some amazing wireframes. if you know your way around can create some interactive ones too.
It'd be good to have some more stencils, rest everything's great
Balsamiq helps support the documentations and explain feature requests clearly with the flow.
Balsamiq allows us to quickly create a mockup or wireframe of our desktop, mobile or web apps, even providing links between the mockups to simulate the workflow of a user. It's much faster to create something in Balsamiq than to create the code in our dev environment, and more flexible than working with paper.
We would like the ability to collaborate - have a team working on a group of mockups at the same time. It would also be good to be able to use source control like git to be able to track changes to the design.
We use Balsamiq in our quotation and design process, so we can present possible solutions to our customers before committing time to writing code. It becomes a discussion piece, to start the process of understanding the customer requirements, and from there developing detailed specifications once we understand the user interface and workflow.
Balsamiq is super easy to use and very intuitive. It is the best tool for wireframing because it makes the process so quick and efficient while at the same time creating high-quality design artifacts to guide conversations with the client.
I find it somewhat annoying and difficult to do things with layering. I eventually get to where I want something, but it takes me a while. I also have trouble aligning text sometimes.
Balsamiq helps me quickly draw up wireframes to show clients possibilities for their application's UI/UX. I can also quickly input realistic values and text into relevant fields so that my client feels more comfortable by seeing relevant information in the wireframe. I save a lot of time and money by having wireframes that are quick and easy to make when the client changes his/her mind, and we have to go back to the drawing board.
The Balsamiq Mock Ups software has a very easy learning curve and good standard setup. I can easily and quickly create simple wire-frame examples for a proposal, or a much more complex UI design wire frame set. The built-in library of shapes, containers, and icons is helpful in getting common tasks done that are relevant to my web development practice. There is no limit to what I am allowed to make (flow charts, UI designs, admin flows, site maps, etc.) and I can create as many project buckets and pages as I want. Many of the SAAS competiting products have a lot more limitations.
I don't dislike much. Sometimes I wish the library had more options available in it, like more modern icons. Sometimes I wish I could share the tools with a colleague (collaboration is not a feature), but it is not a frequent need for me. The default font and drawing style is a bit childish, but they give you the option to change the default to your own preferred fonts and clean lines, so this is easily overcome.
Make sure you understand this is a desktop version software installed to a single user machine, and that you do not require collaborative cloud software.
Since the software is installed to my local desktop, there is no relying on a cloud, Internet or web browser to load things. The program is fast loading and responsive. I can work offline on a series of things. It saves a lot of bandwidth and time compared to some SAAS-based tools. It saves me money paying for the desktop version once rather than being stuck with a recurring subscription. My clients also love the results and find the wire-frame formats quality and useful, which encourages me to use it more. It saves a ton of time in project management and development, because we work out a lot of issues quickly with the wire-framing tool. In fact, clients like the mockups so much, they
The ability to drag/drop and use keystrokes that make sense across all applications.
Not able to store a library or assets (at least I haven't found out how to anyway)
Provide wireframe renderings of future software development.
It is very easy to use Balsamiq and the application itself has different categories for android and web wireframes which is very helpful.
We can add assets that we want to use.
Its feature to drag the image and usage of added assets is good.
I had been asked to use this application and it was so user-centric and time-saving that I am stuck to using it.
It's a free application and works good so I have no major complaints
The designs are not much closer to the real design, I know its a mock wireframing application but the design can be a little more professional.
Sometimes I find it problematic to Align text.
Its overall appearance can be changed as it's a little dated but still, I like using Balsamiq.
It's easy to use the application as it requires no login and is fast and saves time and is effective while working.
I can create the wireframes easily, effectively and it saves my time if I use this application also I can easily drag and drop images.
Its usually used for UI creation so it's very user-centered and easy to use and working on it never feels like we are starting from scratch.
I was asked to make to UI design for a certain application on very short notice and I was able to make it before the deadline.
It exports files in the form of images which is easy to use in other documents and my team can integrate it according to their need.
I use this application quite often but it never gets clumsy and facilitates the usage by users.
