Really responsive team, easy service to use with great integrations. Would recommend. Very easy for scheduling snapshots.
The jury is still out. I've only been using them for a short while, but so far I have no complaints.
taking care of having to worry about a reliable postgres backup, just one less thing to worry about ^_^
When looking for a backup tool that wasn't too expensive, but was easy to use, and with EU storage, I found backupsheep. It took me about 15 minutes to setup 3 backups. I could't find 1 thing but got personal support right away who showed me where to find the feature. After that it has been a set and forget tool and each night I am happy to receive an email that my backup was a success again :)
Nothing I can think off. They are still a small team and this means that sometimes it takes some hours to reply, but at least the replies are good and helpful, unlike some apps where you first have to get through 10 bots before you can talk to someone that can help.
I wanted a backup tool next to our hosts backup - one that I could reach without needing the host, preferably without the need of 3rd party storage. Backupsheep is exactly this.... also since they started the app has greatly improved, adding more features and making things as easy as possible.
I can use it and receive notifications of a backup failure. All my websites from a central backup dashboard. It is incredibly integrated with the updraftplus plugin. I love it!
I would like it if one could already restore backups and migrate websites from the backupsheep dashboard, but in all honesty it is just a convenience. The system is already fully functional.
I use backupsheep as a second layer backup, so I can send backup to a secure storage I own and then also sync those backup with my NAS. I love it!
I recommend it to anyone who wants to ensure that their website or web application has a backup. We use it in our business to backup all of our websites, web application and databases.
The wordpress plugin recovery issue when the version of PHP is different.
Automatic backup soulation
The ability to backup to multiple locations and to separately back up cPanel accounts, WordPress installations, and other cloud storage locations.
The interface could be a little more intuitive, but it has greatly improved since I first began using it.
Automated offsite backups of everything we do online. The benefits are peace of mind and complete recovery of everything when something unexpected happens.
It allows you to set up a schedule for when the backups need to take place, what to back up, and it even compresses the backups for a faster transfer.
And did I mention that it lets us share access to team and clients so that they can access them whenever they want?
For newbies who are just getting started in the world of constant website backup, documentation definitely needs to be worked upon. It's not the lack of documentation, but the world and more elaboration for sources is the key here.
It helps us to set up a schedule for when the backups need to take place, what needs to be backed up, and it even compresses the backups for a faster transfer. This is tremendously helped us lessen our worries.
I have sites hosted on several servers inexpensive plans that do not auto backup. I use updraft plus but I needed a second backup and backup sheep is exactly what I needed, ftp login lets me backup the whole account and store it on the cloud. Plus I get notifications if it fails and when it goes through.
Getting to learn the interface was the only difficult part, but that literally takes about 10 minutes to learn.
Backups let me sleep at night!!
I am one of the unfortunate AppSumo customers who bought the lifetime deal for Rootpal website hosting. They were decent for a while, but then their entire platform crashed in July for a week and all their sites went down. There was nothing I could do because I didn't have any recent backups, and neither did they. Doing backups by hand is laborious, so I tend to forget about them or put them off. So I was held hostage until Rootpal restored my sites.
This motivated me to find a backup solution, and I remembered BackupSheep. I bought a tier-1 code and scheduled it for weekly backups of my database and all the files on my FTP.
Wouldn't you know it, but Rootpal got hacked on August 18 and all of their servers were deleted. Every single site was destroyed. My sites are still not up, as of August 31! And most people who do have their site restored are furious about how old the backups are, from June and July. Months of work, email archives, you name it, all gone!
Thankfully, I had my BackupSheep backups. I gave Rootpal more than a week to restore my site, and they've failed to communicate. As we speak I'm transferring my hosting to a VPS and importing the files and database. Should have done it sooner. Also should have done daily backups. Lesson learned. I'm just glad that I have the option to restore them somewhere else.
Thanks, BackupSheep!
The first time you set up a connection in BackupSheep it can be a bit tricky. I was also confused by the scheduling clock. But I wrote to their chat for support. It took a week for a reply, but when they did, they answered my question. They also added some handy scheduling buttons that make it easier for everyone on the site to schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups. So the founder had a good response and is actively making their software better.
I want them to add pCloud support. It's on their roadmap.
BackupSheep saves my website and work from being lost when a server crashes. It allows me to have peace of mind that my work won't be lost forever.
I have been using BackupSheep for awhile now and have never really had an issue with it. My favorite part of it is probably how much data I can backup and how fast the backups get done. I am never in fear that the company data I upload to the cloud isnt safe.
The only thing I can think of is that it is pricey

I've been using BackupSheep for several months now and I'm extremely impressed with its ease of use and reliability. The software is intuitive and makes scheduling automatic backups for my servers, websites and databases a breeze. The software is very stable.
Connecting databases can be challenging for non-technical users. Just ask Bilal and the team; they will for sure help you out.
I added an additional security layer and another off-site backup solution to my client's websites. I feel more secure and now have three different solutions in addition to BackupSheep.
