Backbone keeps all production organized in just one place! It`s easy to use and easy to share with our team.

Not much, some little things like naming the AI files (once you update a file the file name does not update) and the sizing of the linesheets images.

The organization is the Key to production and Backbone helps to keep everything standardized and clear.

I like the organization and ease of populating the POM. It's also great for organizing fit comments.

I wish it was easier to combine 2 size groups (i.e. Standard and Plus sizes).

Sometimes the servers seem to get overloaded and they crash for a few hours a day.

Ability to create very detailed product tech packs in a consistent manner & the ability to attach large reference files/prints/images as downloadable. I also like the ability to customize the taxonomy for specific product types.

The inability to arrange or view tech packs within shared folders in numerical or alphabetical order. Would prefer a default arrangement (numerically by style number or alphabetically by style name) or a filter allowing the recipient to toggle between either option.

Eliminating the inconsistencies produced when multiple designers arrange tech packs in a way that makes sense to them, individually. The consistent arrangement makes it much easier for factories to understand.

Great for a growing apparel business with a small team - really fast implementation (less than 3 months), simple customization, and really product and design focused structure unlike most PLM's that cater to an order management focus.

The customization is great but we could have done with some templated structure or framework. We were also told at sign up that PO management and Shopify integrated inventory management was in development for the next 12 months - almost 3 years later and nothing on the horizon for this key function of a comprehensive PLM

One source of truth for our product, and the reporting views really help simplify sharing our work with the larger team and our status with each other. Building out our color and component library, even for styles not placed, has been really key as well.

Tech packs are essential for me to relay information between vendors and coworkers!

Adding new intricate details to each product we design. Occasionally there is an error or option unavailable at the time needed.

If you are developing products in various ways Backbone PLM will most definitely help you keep all of them organized!

I am solving communication and visual problems our company has with each category we have. Backbone PLM makes it easier for everyone to stay on track and have insight into the next thing we are working on.

I like that Backbone is responsive and efficient with addressing user issues while updating the website to better function for customers.

I dislike the number of steps I to go through to print a graded spec.

I would recommend creating a solid product library that will allow you to easily edit an item across multiple styles.

Backbone has sped up the time it takes to get comments overseas. it has benefitted me in allowing me to communicate comments clearly.

Easy managing through multiple products at once! It is an efficient tool to keep track of all your sampling stages for all the designs in the process.

It sometimes has bugs and glitches on a crucial day of submitting Tech Packs to manufacturers that slows down the process occasionally.

Ensure to go through all the videos in their welcome package. It helps you learn about all the tools available. Also, contact their customer care if you have an issue; they are fantastic!

It is keeping track of the product cycle and its stages. Also, it is easy to generate TP and grade from one size to another when you have multiple sizes for a product.

Item master has been helpful cross departmentally

Sometimes the platform can be buggy and slow

file storage is really nice. We've been able to replace dropbox in some cases

All our product information lives in the system and is accessible by the team.

Can't save grade rules without a full product spec, hard to repeat a product and not confuse with old products.

Production workflow is better.

In this system everyday for all clients. Saving me so much time and easy to manage all details.

Hard for me to really find something wrong. There has been so much improvement since 2.0 was released.

Integrating Illustrator with the system which I know is in works. A little bit easier to manage the utilization tool. Download as a PDF like 1.0.

Being able to manage and access all details in one place. I have realized if the system is used correctly, it saves me so much time!
