Though I have been using Authory for a year however, just recently, I fully understood the scale of helpful tools available in it. As a freelance author, my biggest challenge has been providing central access to my publications in so many different newspapers or magazines. In the past, I had set up my own website where I would copy and paste my articles for ease of access. But now it's not possible for multiple reasons.
Authory provides one central place from where my readers can access all of my publications, including scientific publications and even LinkedIn or Twitter posts. It also connects with my YouTube videos and podcasts.
Noting in particular. The front page is evolving and now is much better for ease of use
My challenge was providing access to my articles published in many different newspapers and magazines, including access to youtube channels and podcasts.
Authory automates the collection of my writing across multiple publishers and allows me to categorize them in any way I wish, then present my clips to prospective employers.
Not much to dislike as it runs automatically.
I've missed many of my clips and once I add a piece of content from one publisher, Authory automatically checks for new items and adds them to my portfolio. In the past, when publishers close a publication, I've lost my writing samples. Authory stores all my writing independently of the publication so I now have all my content even from discontinued publications.
I love how the platform is easy to use and easy to understand. I thought that because I have so many mediums to mix, it would be a little difficult to integrate everything, but it was straightforward! It also has a beautiful interface!
There is nothing I dislike about Authory.

I use Authory to house all of my writing, podcasting, audio pieces in one place. Authory makes it easier to get future work and also for me to survey all of the work I have done so far.
Authory does the work of collecting all your bylines for you, making it incredibly simple to create an online portfolio with all your work in one place. Using Authory instead of creating a portfolio website from scratch saves time and ensures that your website looks professional. It takes less than 20 minutes to set up, and you can also upload a profile and cover photo to personalize your portfolio. Though I contemplated creating my own website using a different platform, I'm extremely glad I decided to go with Authory. I also like that you can create different collections to organize your work and showcase pieces you are particularly proud of.
Once in a while Authory doesn't find an article or two and you have to them manually, but that rarely ever happens. Overall the website works as it should and doesn't glitch or malfunction.
Because of Authory, I don't have to spend endless hours working on a website/portfolio that allows me to showcase and share my work. Authory has therefore saved me ample time and allowed me to focus on my work without worrying that my articles are getting lost online. I know for certain that every time I publish a piece, Authory will find it and add it to my portfolio for me without me having to do anything.
Easy to use.
Simple but accurate.
We can import our previous publications.
Attractive Graphical User Interfaces.
It is not entirely free. But you can use the free trial for evaluation, and then you can purchase a plan.
I highly recommend this fantastic application for all of your publications.
As a writer, I want to download pdf publications and publish my Organization's research articles. So I found "Authory" to fulfill my above requirements. It is a fantastic website I have ever seen.
I was excited to discover Authory through SPJ. The creator/founder/CEO, Eric, was responsive, pleasant, helpful. He cares about the software and in using it, I am impressed with how well he made sure it was, the solutions it delivers, the ease of use. Thank you!
Not applicable. Authory is likable and makes my portfolio and client work easier.
Authory easily compiles the articles I'm involved with. It also saves time with it's aggregation and publishing method, updating feeds (i.e. letting key people know when attached articles are out/available). It's excellent for building mailing list(s), newsletters, and so much more.
Authory is a pretty feature rich site. this is more than just a digital folder for your work. you also get detailed stats on how your articles preform on different social media outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. you can also have readers subscribe to your page after which you can send them email updates and newsletters to keep them posted on what's going on and keep them engaged
It took a while for some of my sources to populate to the site. It's usually 24–48 hours, but it took about four days for me cause I had a LOT of sources. But overall, it has been a good experience and well worth it for the price.
I have all my writing work in one place, so I can send a link to anybody that wants to see my work. its a very convenient thing to have
Easy to use and the wide breadth of service.
No complaints. As with any archiving service, I'd worry about what might happen if it suddenly disappears, though they let you download your archive any time.
Before I discovered Authory, I had no way of reliably aggregating a portfolio of online writing that dates back to the 1990s. I feel like I was losing work daily.
This is a great idea and it definitely makes my articles and posts more accessible to people. I publish articles on LinkedIn, but usually someone would need to log in to LinkedIn to be able to read the articles and view posts. However, not all my clients and potential clients have LinkedIn. So Authory solves that problem.
Payment info is needed up front before starting the trial. A pre-paid debit card that I tried to use was probably not accepted as a payment method. When I put in the pre-paid card info, a message popped up saying "oh snap, something went wrong." It's frustrating that the message didn't identify the problem and just said that something went wrong. I had to guess that it was the pre-paid card and then used a regular credit card, which worked.
You probably can't use pre-paid cards that don't have a certain amount of money on them. Or maybe you can't use them at all. They offered to extend my trial by 2 weeks for sharing a post about them. I recommend you take the opportunity to share the post if the promotion is still current.
The problem of not being able to showcase my articles to people who don't have LinkedIn or don't want to log into it just to see my articles.

Authory is one of many platforms I have explored in creating a portfolio for my freelance writing work, and I can confidently say it's the smartest.
There aren't really any downsides - it would be great to see Authory become accessible to more writers though!
Everything is super intuitive, and the process of getting things up and running couldn't be easier. I love that it handles the hunting for you - looking for and formatting articles took up a lot of my time when trying other options. I also really like the flexibility and control it gives you. Content can be organized with collections and embedded into other websites. I don't know how, but Authory even reports how many impressions my work has made throughout multiple social media channels. All I did was give it a link! While I'm still in the process of perfecting things, I think that Authory is a next-level solution for writers and creators who want to make a professional impression online. It's truly been designed with convenience in mind, not to mention run by a team of responsive people. Five stars!
