What do you like best about Audacity?

It is software that is easy to obtain, simple to install, and offers a countless number of functions that are not even provided by others at a cost. Being free not only saves us an expense, but it is also widely distributed software, making it easy to find usage tutorials on various video platforms. Another feature to highlight is its versatility with formats, which makes me use it very frequently to enhance all kinds of audio.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Its aesthetic looks a bit old-fashioned, however, I like that it doesn't change much, as I work faster since I already know its structure.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Audacity is one of those software programs that do not cause problems but are the solution to problems. In my case, as I usually create video tutorials, the software I use for screen recording has very poor audio, but for that, I use Audacity, and in the end, I just match both audios. Since I work in an office, my audio recordings tend to be a bit messy due to mouse clicks or static, but Audacity helps me eliminate that noise. Increíble.

Easiest audio software to use

What do you like best about Audacity?

It's free! Also, it does 90% of things that any other audio editor does. Features are easily laid out and easy to access. You can get up and running on this within an hour with a couple of youtube tutorials. We use it every week for our videos.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The interface is a bit dated, but it's understandable because the functionality is amazing. It's kind of a good thing, actually, because you don't have to re-orient yourself to the program with each update.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We need to record audio for the videos that we provide to students, and Audacity lets us record audio separately and cut it together with the video so the quality is better.

Very basic software for beginnners

What do you like best about Audacity?

I like the comfort and easyness. It is very easy to remove noise and edit your audios. Anyone can operate this software without any knowledge. It gives you full control to manually edit your voice like a pro.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

There should be some Ai feature which can make the process more easy.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It s helping me to record my voice overs for my youtube videos. I use to record once in a week and I don't need to apply my brain everytime. It works super smooth and the menus are very efficiently presented.

Review of Audacity sound editor

What do you like best about Audacity?

Audacity is not only free to use, it has many features that commercial sound editors don't. One of its most useful features is the noise removal tool.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

At some point Audacity began incorporating a feature that sent reports to advertisers. This was a gross violation of privacy. Hopefully that feature has been removed now.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Audacity has helped me create near-professional quality recordings. It is a full-featured audio software that has allowed me to create voice-overs for clients as well as podcasts.

What do you like best about Audacity?

I liked the ease of learning to use this

What do you dislike about Audacity?

Easy to use software. My journey in VO work started several years ago and Audacity was one of the programs that were suggested to use. Through watching YouTube videos on the software, I was able to learn enough to not only begin doing VO work, but also audiobook narration. I still have more to learn, but Audacity is very user-friendly and provides a way to put out a professionally accepted product.

Recommendations to others considering Audacity?

It may take a little time and dedication, but you can learn this software and how to use it to make great audio clips. You can also add music and effects as well. Make YouTube your friend, there are a lot of videos on Audacity you can watch to learn about this.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It took me a while but I finally figured out how to get my audiobook narrations within the specs for ACX. This has allowed me to have several audiobooks now Live and for sale on Amazon and ACX. I have also learned how to make my VO projects better and better as I become more experienced with being a VO artist and more comfortable using Audacity.

Best for beginners & students in Music making

What do you like best about Audacity?

It is a open source and free so it is a first choice for students and beginners, well then too there is a good number of effects and tools. It is a multi track audio system where I can rely it on for my multiple musical tasks like cutting, mixing , editing etc. The ability to edit and export multiple audio files at the same time,The ability to change the speed and pitch of andy audio clip are superb things that I like the most

What do you dislike about Audacity?

As it is a beginner and open sources software , it have lack of some feature like other premium software have.

Recommendations to others considering Audacity?

Like firstly I observed Pluginns and VSTs are less comparatively to FL studio and ableton where multiple professional Plugins are supported .

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

I don't have to invest money in it and I can make music on the go at any PC because I can download it anywhere (it's free) just I have to keep my WAV files or MP3s in my hard disks.

A free program that's better than paid ones.

What do you like best about Audacity?

I've been using this program for more than 10 years. It's ease of use, and power are fantastic. It's easy to clean up audio with noise reduction. It's easy to EQ audio as well.

What do you dislike about Audacity?

The user interface is very straightforward and uses text more than icons which is great but sometimes I wish it was more attractive to look at as I am in it for hours, and sometimes so long that it gets burned into my eyes.

Recommendations to others considering Audacity?

If you are working within a budget and even if you're not and just want an easy program to get great audio out of, this program is it.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a quarterly set of recordings at my current position that I use this for and it works fantastically. The fact that it is freeware as well I'd a huge help as I didn't have to get it approved.

Given the price, it's tough to say anything bad about Audacity.

This software does not come with a manual per se, though it has a good help system. The online support is excellent, and a number of YouTube videos are available to get you up to speed in a hurry.

What problems is Audacity solving and how is that benefiting you?

Audacity has greatly simplified the editing and preparation of audio files for commercial spots. It's very easy to remove background noises, to edit out coughs and errors, and to combine multiple files into a final mix. The best feature, though, is Audacity's ability to stretch or shrink a file to precisely fit a time slot, such as 30 seconds, even if the original is quite a bit shorter or longer, without changing the pitch.
