Skip Miller's words of wisdom. Understanding the role and model of SaaS Sales. This looks a a great way to start your journey and I recommend it to every person that's interested in the career.
Could help better prepare you for the personalities and adversity you face in the role. Better preparation and how to deal with unkind people and people that will continuously ignore you and how to cope with this adversity. How to manage expectations. The recorders part of the test can be cleaned up. It's a bit glitchy.
Understanding how to uncover painpoints and ask great discover questions. Understanding the moving parts of a sales org and how to apply your knowledge. How to listen.
Aspireship is a wonderful option for career changers looking to enter the SaaS space. I like that it's affordable, comprehensive, and includes support with finding employment.
I haven't found any downsides of Aspireship. Ideally, I'd love to have more healthcare options on the SaaS employer side. (Meaning electronic medical records companies, etc.)
I had been looking for affordable online programs that would prepare my readers (clinicians) to enter the world of client success and sales for a long time. I was delighted to find Aspireship because it helps these people have a clear path to careers outside of direct patient care.
Their platform makes it really easy to find quality, high-potential candidates in minutes, not days. You can quickly identify the best fit for your organization.
Not all of the candidates that come through are the right fit. The best thing to do is use their technology (via a video pitch) to either move on from a candidate or move them to the interview.
Aspireship solves the big issue in recruiting, which is finding quality candidates and understanding their capabilities beyond just a resume or an initial interview.
It's hard to nail down what I found most beneficial about Aspireship but some of the things that jump to the top of my mind are the real world job training, the skills review from experiences SaaS profeissionals, the thoughtful job placement opportunities, and the pre-vetted hiring partners.
The only downside that I've seen to the Aspireship program is the fact that they only have Account Executive training courses. The courses that they offer are transferrable across a lot of the revenue generating roles (AE, SDR, AM, CSM, etc) but only specific to the AE role
I've built confidence in my sales skills, been hired into an exciting role via their hiring channels, and developed relationships with like-minded people that are incredible role models.
Aspireship uses their years of aggregate team experience to find soft skills in candidates to determine sales career success. Their methodology hasn't been widely adopted in the Saas/Tech space, but has been used by the very best and fastest growing tech companies in the world. They are bringing their "secret sauce" to the broader tech recruiting and sales training space to help increase the hiring pool with talent that has little, to no sales training, but that show the skillset required to succeed in Saas Sales.
Unable to search based on location, but understandable being mostly a remote first workforce post Covid.
Be clear about your role needs ,and have a job description ready prior to engaging with them to have the best chance at finding the right fit.
The Aspireship team was able to help me find exceptionally talented sales support and SDR candidates. The talent we hired from their recommendations quickly made an impact building pipeline, engaging with outbound prospects that were historically difficult to reach, and also improving sales admin operational processes. On paper, these candidates would have been turned down by the typical recruiting firm, but with the right training and assessments, the Aspireship program is finding diamonds in the rough.
I enjoyed the video and audio role plays that vastly contributed to learning the SaaS terminology and helped develop hard skills to QUALIFY, DEMO, and Close in the mock presentations in interviews.
The Aspireship network is well respected in the industry, and their placement consultants do a great job of understanding current needs and how to place professionals.
Specifically, Christine Rogers was a lot of help through the process and provided personal communication.
Weekly/monthly Lunch and Learns and "Thursday Night Sales" are a great way to connect with other professionals working their way through the program and receive postive affirmations.
I enjoyed the entire Aspireship process.
The only thing I would have liked to see is the speed of feedback and access to network.
Aspireship needs to properly vet each individual as they will Vouch for each professional that passes the program.
I was able to gain hard skills and speak in the industry terminology from reviewing the content within the program and participating in the role plays, where they would give feedback.
Aspireship was a great fit for the type of role we were trying to fill. Prospects come in with a willingness to learn and have unique backgrounds.
Not much. If I was hiring for a more senior-level role I could see it being more difficult but I haven't had experience filling those positions with Aspireship.
We are looking to grow our inside sales team. Candidates from Aspireship have come in well prepared and with levels of experience that match what we are looking for.
Aspireship really listened to us and was supportive during the entire process. We really enjoyed our kick off call with the team - they put a ton of personalization into identifying traits and characteristics that are critical for our top sales hires!
We don't utilize their video library trainings as often, mainly because we haven't developed a deep L&D program outside of initial onboarding due to our size. But, that's something that we may work with more as the team continues to grow.
We're growing rapidly (we doubled in size last year and are on track to double again this year) and the biggest growth needs are in the new business team. That along with the ever-evolving job market has posed new challenges. Aspireship has helped us keep a strong pipeline through all of those!
We use Aspireship on the Enablement side as sales training. What I like most about it is that the videos are put together in a great way that makes them easy to follow, and fun to watch! Since we have started using Aspireship, I've heard nothing but great feedback from our reps. The Enablement team loves it, and the reps love it so it's a win-win.
Additionally, Alexis is my point of contact at the company and she is always so helpful and timely in her responses. If I have a new rep to add to the system, she's my go-to!
I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about Aspireship. Thus far I've only seen lots of positives.
I have realized how valuable it is to have good sales training in place. In my experience, sales training is usually generic, boring, maybe even old. Aspireship, however, brings in leaders in the space and they do an excellent job facilitating discussions that bring a lot of value to the table, and in turn, they lead to great discussions among our reps. We have live discussion sessions after each video and the reps are genuinely excited to participate and discuss what they've learned.

Results with Aspireship were more than I had hoped for! We began our search for an A-player to join our team and drummed up nearly 100 candidates. Out of the 100 candidates, I only interviewed 2 (and they were "ok"). I decided to give Aspireship a try. Within a couple of days, I had interviews lined up with 6 really great candidates. Here's what I liked best about working with Aspireship:
- Knowledgable, responsive team
- Great process enhanced with easy-to-use software
- Amazing pool of well-qualified candidates
Of the 6 candidates they brought to us, I would have hired 4 of them. I was originally only going to hire 1 SDR, but, due to the quality of the candidates Aspireship brought our way, I decided to hire 2 SDRs instead.
I couldn't be happier with my experience working with Aspireship and have already highly recommended them to family members and friends.
If I'm being EXTREMELY nit-picky, the only thing I might recommend for Aspireship to improve is that their process places them between the candidates and the hiring manager a little more than it probably needs to. I'm sure they have good reasons for that. In the end, I am SUPER happy with the outcome.
I've never hired a sales team before. Aspireship helped me know how to think about the SDR role and then helped match me with the best candidates for our business's needs from their pool of well-trained, well-qualified SDRs.
