The thing I like most about Lockstep is the people. Everyone I have worked with so far has been very friendly and attentive, and my issues and questions have been addressed promptly. Lockstep has excellent customer service.
The feature I like the most is the automated reminder notices, which allows our collectors to make phone calls instead of sending emails. Phone calls are an opportunity to develop relationships with our customers. In turn, our customers are more likely to pay our company over other vendors because they value the business relationship. The Lockstep platform allows the admin to create rules to generate activities. It is very user-friendly from an admin and a credit user perspective.
We dislike having to use a third-party merchant vendor for our credit card and ACH Payments. We want to switch merchant vendors, but the options are limited. Finding a merchant vendor to meet all of our business needs has been difficult.
Lockstep has acknowledged our need for more options for merchant vendors, and they are developing a solution. I have realized that one of the benefits of doing business with Lockstep is that they listen to their clients and work diligently to provide solutions that work for us.
Lockstep has automated our AR and allowed us to go from 99 days DSO to a DSO of less than 60 in less than a year.
Right now it is super easy to accept credit cards through the portal, would like for ACH to be just as seamless.
Lockstep has unlocked cash for us and allowed us to focus on running our business rather than on cash flow.

There are too many steps to complete one action -- the navigation is a little clunky.
My team does not have to spend as much time reviewing our open aging and emailing customers individually. This is down automatically, so this is a huge time saver.
The ability to send invoices and reminders on time, and to verify that it has happened. We don't have any issues where a client doesn't pay simply because they haven't received the invoice. The administration of the system is also quite easy, and if any issues do arise, Lockstep support is always very responsive and quick to help.
The client portal is very useful, but there is some confusion over which browsers are supported.
I highly recommend Lockstep. We made the decision to automate with Lockstep a couple of years ago and have been very happy with the decision, especially considering all the disruption the world has experienced in 2020.
We are able to centralize the distribution of invoices and periodic reminders. This has reduced A/R aging, improved cash flow, saved admin and manger time on following up on unpaid invoices, and increased visibility into true credit risks. We are able to focus our efforts on adding value for our clients.

The ability to manage and customize collection efforts in a clear and organized way. Providing customers a way that they can view their account details, get pdf invoice copies and even make payments without contacting us directly has freed up the time spent on collections efforts.
One of the newest features is an optional sidebar which can make maneuvering thru the menus easier and even provides a quick history of accounts viewed.
Another new feature gives the customer options on how they want to export a given report.
We are excited to hear there are future plans to hopefully make the customer portal a bit more self-serving so less efforts need to be made by the individual collectors.
For the customer a few types of transactions are not intuitive such as paying in advance or taking advantage of a credit on their account so you may need to help them understand how the system works. For a few of our customers this has been a topic where they have expressed they would prefer to not use the customer portal.
Just a preference but in the newest version the pdf icon used seems to be a little less noticeable than previous versions (ex. lack of colors used).
If you are looking to make the switch from manual collections efforts to systematic efforts this software is a must have.
Be prepared for the initial setup to be a bit of a learning curve, but don't let that be a deterrent. After the initial setup it's not long before you see significant results due to the software's efforts.
Since making the switch to Anytime Collect:
- We have significantly improved our DSO.
- The quantity of issues that are significantly past due has greatly decreased, so we are better suited to devote our time to areas that have been neglected previously.
- We utilize the ability for multiple users to see notes made on previous issues and the resulting efforts that have been made.
This is a program that offers the best of collection technology. The automation of the collection processes has improved our ability to efficiently and effectively collect our AR. The elimination of manual emails, the ability to imput and track collection contacts has reduced our DSO and allowed us to easily meet our collection goals.
I would like to see a real time environment. Currently the program only updates data once a day.
Don't wait on implementing this software. It's a great value.
We are able to make initial collection contacts automatically which frees up time to work on the problems. The ability to track and easily respond to disputes, resulting in a faster resolution. Customers also have the ability to see their statements and download invoices, making their job easier.
All your customers credit is so easily visible. The collection feature for contacting customers is so intuitive. You can send an email to a customer and attach a statement, invoice within seconds. Using the follow up feature is a huge plus and you'll never miss making the very important collection follow ups.
The only thing I don't care for is the issue set up process for any mail that goes into your unfiled mailbox. I would love to be able to create an issue from the email and be able to change the description of the issue.
Benefits are absolutely being that you will see how easily it is to handle collections and credit for all your customers in one place. We have seen a significant decrease in our aging due to the intuitiveness of Anytime collect.

I like the automated reminders set up to help make contact with all open accounts that you may not have time in your day to address! I also like the reporting aspects and customized reporting you can pull with this application!
I dislike unpaying customers but know there is a reason they are not paying their balance. These collection tools help to develop reason codes and visibility to collections issues!!! I have no dislike of Lockstep or their support!
