I used SES and their dedicated IPS for all my business (website) email requirements for a while. We used them both for transactional and marketing emails - and the best things is that SES is extremely cost effective - you can send literally thousands of emails per second for very little overall cost. The system is very reliable and easy to set up - and requesting custom (dedicated) ips is a piece of cake as well. They have tools that automatically monitor your bounce rates, complaint rates etc which are very useful for any company - along with graphs etc that show you where you currently are in this regard. All in all, very little to dislike about SES, a great AWS offering like a lot of others.

Perhaps the interface could be made a little more intuitive - much like a lot of AWS on general which seems to be set up more for hard-core coders like Jeff himself used to be rather than the layperson but that's a small issue really - AWS documentation is very extensive and it's easy to figure ones way around the system if one peruses the docs carefully.

I was at the point looking for a reliable esp for both my transactional and marketing emails. SES fit the bill perfectly.

You get templates and no need to keep typing every response.

Easy to get customer order details.

Multi-user mail support.

Easy to manage your responses and keep track of your daily emails.

Hard to find tutorials regarding, have to refer to various platforms like Youtube to get the setup done.

Apart from Setup difficulty, their service is exceptional.

Bulk emailing and using them for more of refresher or as a sample emails for traning to others or new hire. AmazonSES do not need huge setup, best lite and easy to make other understand their usage.

The most useful feature of Amazon SES is Low-cost email delivery the first 62000messages are free per month, SES has high deliverability rates and works even well with Amazon Web service

As it lacks of template and there is no A/B Testing Amazon SES does not support it.In the case of credential breach, we can't access the sent mail email logs

From business end, It is trying to accomplish the email communication and transactional emails and other necessary email communication is made possible seamlessly using Amazon SES

This is the cheapest email service out there, implementation is very easy if you know basic coding, it can be easily intregrated with a lot of apps, best for sending high volume emails, gives 62000 emails free every month if the server is setup in AWS S3. Can send emails with proper SPF & DKIM authentaction, we use SES for our daily email marketing and newsletters.

Don't expect customer support from Amazon team, it is not very easy to reach their support team. They are not very quick in replying.

Email deliveribity at a very cheap price with SPF and DKIM authentication. Also Amazon SES gives us API access from which we can integrate SES with any other app so we have connected SES with our other apps and send emails via API.

We used to run our business email through the same mail servers as our product emails. It was a continual pain point. We would seem to end up in continual loop of blacklists and lobbying to get off of blacklists for seemingly no good reason. No longer with SES. Low volume of real people in business email and high volume of transactional emails through SES with no hassles. We're a good email hygene company when we separated the two and took advantage of SES email reputation for high volume mail. Blended was a nightmare.

There is a period where you need to prove yourself and get validated to start the service which just took time and effort. The next hassle was that the outbound email relay is per region which makes it hard to migrate away from one region to the next completely. We just leave it in the old region because it's all in the same being in AWS.

No more reputational problems. Marketing uses their services. Transactional emails (large volume) use SES. Separate and done.

SES is ready to go when it comes to email sending. Plus the service comes with a free tier where a certain amount of emails sent are free of cost per month.

The threshold for Bounce and Spam rates is less than 5%. This becomes a reason for disruption of services when we aim at sending bulk transaction emails but the email addresses are not validated.

Amazon SES makes it easy for us to configure the email settings in application. We can quickly setup the email sending domain and start using SES.

Nothing as such. there is nothing exceptional to be disliked.

Only service which can receive email and store it in s3 or trigger a lambda function to receive files easily

I like the fast email delivery, identity protection, and handling the spam, bounce and reports from customers. SES service is very straightforward to integrate as well using the AWS SDK. They also have good security features; in case of a credential breach, if someone tries to send a lot of spam using that credential, they take immediate actions, which helps the users safeguard their domain score.

I don't like the SES API reporting; in case of a credential breach, one can not access the Sent email logs as there is no feature; you need to guess how your credentials were breached and what email they are sending using that. So AWS SES should provide a way to see the Sent email logs.
